174 Analysis of Yao Bat le between Cin and Jin --also its Application on Chinese Teaching Kuang-Ming Chien* Abstract <Yao Battle between Cin and Jin> ( ) is a famous chapter in the Tso-chuan( ), and it has fine presentations in terms of description of events and principle of thinking. In general, this piece of article is included in most University Chinese Selections, and you can see how important it is. This thesis tried to analysis the article from several angles Firstly, the author, his disposition and style briefly introducing the problems author offered in <Zuozhuan>, how it was written down on the basis of historical sequence, and also its style which includes a variety of writing skills. Secondly, application of language is depicted elucidating techniques of planning expostulation used in the chapter, and further comparing expostulating techniques between Jhu Jhih Wu( ) and Jian Shu ( ), and at last, describing how the language in this chapter is excellently utilized in terms of linguistic logic and contravening technique. Thirdly, description of battles depicting how this chapter described the battles in detail through the background, occasion, intrigue, influence and outcome of the battle, and the effect of battlefield geography. Fourthly, the entire chapter focuses on propriety propriety is mentioned throughout the chapter, which shows how highly people of Spring and Autumn Period thought of it. Fifthly, description of characters such as Jin Wun Gong ( ) Cin Mu Gong ( ) Sian Jhen ( )and Ci Zih ( ), explaining its lively description and consummate techniques. Sixthly, teaching application to explain how this chapter applies to the Chinese teaching in Universities in Taiwan. In addition to the interpretation presented in the chapter, students should be able to apply it to their daily life and their knowledge professionally to enhance teaching effect.
