The Acton Institute promotes the free and virtuous society sustained by religious principles. A U.S. diplomat from 1992-2012, Todd served as deputy chief of mission at the U.S. embassy in Luxembourg, political counselor at the U.S. Mission to the European Union in Brussels, consul for political and economic affairs at the U.S. consulates in Hamburg and Munich, and consul for public affairs at the U.S. consulate in Monterrey, Mexico. He has also served in Dublin, Frankfurt and Costa Rica, and on the European Union Desk in the State Department in Washington, D.C. Todd received a B.A. in Music and German from Calvin College in Grand Rapids and an M.A. in German Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Todd is the co-founder of the Transatlantic Christian Council, a public policy network (in Think Tank format) dedicated to strengthening the transatlantic alliance. He is currently also a research fellow of Calvin College's Paul B. Kurka Dr. Robert C. Kurka joined the Lincoln Christian University in 1992, following seven years of teaching at Saint Louis Christian College. He currently serves as Professor of Theology and Church in Culture in the Seminary. A native of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Dr. Kurka earned a BA (summa cum laude) from Crossroads College (1975), his M. Div. from Lincoln Christian Seminary (1979), and the D. Min. from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (1984). He has also completed residency for a PhD in systematic theology from Trinity. He has contributed to numerous academic and popular-level books, journals, and periodicals in a variety of theological areas ranging from biblical doctrine, Christian worldview, apologetics, contemporary culture, missiology, and bioethics. He has two articles that are currently awaiting publication: one on the nature of biblical inerrancy (Stone-Campbell Journal) and the other on some key theological implications of same-sex marriage (forthcoming volume from Cambridge Scholars Press).
Dr. Kurka regularly presents papers at such forums as the Evangelical Theological Society, Stone-Campbell Journal Conference, and is a frequent speaker at a variety of conventions such as ICOM and the NACC (he did a workshop on apologetics at June s North American Christian Convention). He is also a frequent lecturer for the celebrated Perspectives on the World Christian Mission Program throughout the Midwest and has lectured at colleges in Africa and Asia. He is a past president and secretary-treasurer of the Midwest Region of the Evangelical Theological Society. He has been honored by inclusion in various publications such as Marquis Who s Who (2009) and was the 2006 recipient of Crossroads College s distinguished alumnus award. More important, Bob Kurka is a churchman, having served both as a local church pastor and currently as an elder at his home congregation. He has done numerous interim ministries and regularly preaches in the Lincoln area. He also serves as board chair of Haitian Christian Outreach. Bob is married to fellow Crossroads alum, Beverley (Petersen), and is the father of three married daughters, Holly, Lara, and Amber. Bob and Bev are the proud grandparents of fourteen grandchildren. Chen, Jun-wen (John) Brother Chen, Jun-wen had taught on theoretical physics in Nanjing University of China for many years. Yan, Xin-en Brother Yan, Xin-en believed in God in 1989, began to full-time ministry successively in Wenzhou, Beijing, California Churches since 1996, part-time serving in sacred music worship, & in charge of Christian education and several other special ministries. In addition to daily pastoring, he also participates in Campus Ministry: in recent years, he participated in Stanford, UC Berkeley, San Francisco, Santa Barbara Campus Fellowships and many times serving as special speakers on Scripture Text and Theology & Christianity and China in Northern California Campus Gospel Camp, and founded Southern California Campus United Gospel Camp. Brother Yan served as Editor-in-chief of Bible Study Column in Shen Zhou (the earliest Christian comprehensive website in China), Editorial Board Member of Xing Hua (Beijing Shouwang Church Magazine), (volunteer) General Editor of Chinese Church Annual, as well as writing all kinds of features & reviews for paper media & online magazines. Zhou, Hong-ying, former professional teacher in her alma master, a domestic university, went to study in the US in 1990. On the plane to the US, she heard the gospel; half a year after, she was baptized & began to serve in the church. After won the Master of Electronic Engineering at Colorado State University in 1993, she served as advanced and expert system software engineer in a big transnational company for twelve years. Since 1999, she has begun to lead & pastor a small Chinese branch church in a large Church until now. In October 2002, she was ordained pastor. Because of God's call, she quit her job in 2005, entering full-time ministry. Since believing in & serving the Lord, she has received trainings from many seminaries and Christian ministry organizations: she had studied in Wagner Leadership Institute since 2000, and successively got different degrees; in 2010, she respectively obtained Doctor of Practical Ministry from Wagner Leadership Institute & Agape Ministry Spiritual Institute. Since 2006, she has begun to preach the gospel to China until now. In her life, she helped and encouraged her husband to get a PhD of Electronic Engineering; and since 2001, she also helped her husband to overcome the difficulties brought about by hereditary diseases; as a result, so far he has

Zhu, Jian Brother Zhu, Jian became Christian at the house church of China in 1979. Then in 1983, he fully devoted himself to serving God and later in 1989 he was ordained as preacher by the New Mexico Baptist Convention through the local Chinese Baptist church. In 1991, Jian co-founded the Albuquerque Chinese Christian Church (cf. ACCC, and since then has pastored the church close to 25 years. Jian currently is serving as senior pastor at ACCC. His main focus on ministry are in the teaching and training of devotion, prayer, church pastoring, and the Kingdom networking. He once served at the Editorial Committee of the Christian Life Quarterly Magazine. He has been serving as the Permanent Vice President of the Chinese Pastor Fellowship. He also serves as Pastor for the musician s team in Better Homeland Concert, & the Director of China Institute of the Lincoln Christian University. Jian has published two small books: one is Church Pastoral Ministry, and the other: Kingdom Network & the Three Greatest Expectations in the future of China Churches.
