Leisure Participation Type Differences And Leisure Satisfaction Differences Between Various Body Mass Indices: A Correlation Study To Taiwan s College Student Lien-Chung Lee / Chia-Te Hsu Lee-Ming Institute of Technology Mao-chun Wang Lunghwa University of Science and Technology Abstract The objective of this research was to study whether there have significant differences, in both leisure participation type and leisure satisfaction, between college students with various body mass indices. Questionnaire respondents were 3500 college students from 40 higher education institutions, and 3064 copies were effective. Through critical statistical analyses, we obtain the following major findings: 1. For male students, there is significant differen ce between body mass index and leisure participation type, Students of medium b ody mass index have more leisure participation types than those of lower b ody mass index. 2. For female students, there is significant difference between body mass index and leisure participation type; Students of high body mass index have more leisure participation types than those of lower b ody mass index.3. For male students, there is significant difference between body mass index and leisure satisfaction, physiological dimens ion in specifically; students of medium b ody mass index are more satisfied with physiological measures than those of lower b ody mass index. 4. For female students, there is significant difference between body mass index and leisure satisfaction, psychologi cal dimension in specifically; students of higher body mass index are more satisfied with psychological measures than those of lower body mass index.
