1 CJS 30 :,,,,,,,, : L og ics of Power O pera tion s a t the Gra ssroots L evel : A Ca se Study of a Comm un ity in Shangha i J in Q iao Abstract: W ith the supposition that city communities had their own unique logics of power operations existing right in the inter2actor interactions, this study took a residential comm ittee to exam ine the interactions among its Party Secretary, members and workers within the comm ittee, members in other organizations, activists and ordinary residents in the community, and certain special group s, through which the power operations and interactive p rocesses within city communities as well as their underlying logics were analyzed.
