nese learners has been increasing. W e should seize this opportunity to enhance the awareness of building up the discip line of Chinese teaching as an internationally recognized discip line. B ased on the theory and p ractice of teaching Chinese as a second language, we should take the initiative to find out the commonality and particularity of teaching Chinese in China and in different coun2 tries and regions, and to expand the areas of study w ith the development of teaching p ractice, so that to gradually establish a trans2regional international Chinese education in order to suit and push forward the development of Chinese teaching in the world. To found and develop the cause of international Chinese education is a strategic measure that w ill have impact on the overall situation to speed up the p rocess of internationalization of the Chinese language.
