130 Storytelling Workshop for EFL Teachers Wenli Tsou Department of Language and Literature Education, National Tainan Teachers College Abstract Research has recognized the importance of storytelling on language learning. However, lacking of teaching resources and training program on storytelling has greatly prevented many language teachers in Taiwan from applying storytelling in their language classrooms. Therefore, this study designed a storytelling workshop for English teachers in Taiwan. In the workshop, theories and practices of storytelling and their applications in foreign language classrooms were included. Qualitative research methods such as ethnography or participant observation and field study were applied to collect and analyze the data. The result section of the study discussed the effects of the workshop, the achievement of the participants in their storytelling techniques, as well as the effects of EFL teaching through English storytelling. In addition, questionnaires and interviews with participants were also provided in this study to cross-examine the results. Storytelling is indeed a useful and effective tool in language teaching.
