The Animal Decoration of Taiwan s Traditional Architecture Hung-Jen San* Mu-Shan Chen** Abstract This study aims to research the animal decoration of Taiwan s traditional architecture, using the document survey method, field survey and image analysis. Rely on this research we know each of the animal decorations of Taiwan s traditional architecture are different at the shape and have propitious means. The animal decorations are dragon, sea-tortoise, phoenix, kylin, lion, pigeon, bi-si, siao etc. The pictures on the Taiwan s traditional architecture use the religion story, fable novel and so on.
