31 ABSTRACTS Wang Futang: The Onomatopoeia of Shaoxing Dialect Abstract: Onomatopoeia of Shaoxing dialect alterate between the highest tone in upper register and the lowest tone in lower register. The alternation is conditioned by different types of initials voiced or voiceless or different types of endings vowel, nasal, or stop ending. The derivation of Shaoxing s onomatopoeia by means of reduplication and insetting deuterogenic l- initial syllable, is quite complicated and of typological value. Onomatopoeia in most Chinese dialects are of such characteristics, and worthy of further researches. An illustration of the necessity for determining the basic unit of Chinese texts.. The comments on the previous different opinions in question.. Our definition of the units of texts: the small units bearing pragmatic categories, such as tense, intention/role/mood/ modality etc., which can be used as the index to specific speech communicative event and to the speaker. As to the most and secondly lower units of Chinese text, we give them the name dòuand jùduàn respectively.. The prosodic boundary of dòu and jùduàn: levelly lengthening the last rhyme vs. shortening the last rhyme and combined with a voiceless period of time.. The correspondence between punctuation mark and dòu, jùduàn: the comma type marks are all corresponded with dòu;

32 but the period type marks must be divided into two kind: true period and quasi period. The true periods are corresponded with jùduàn vs. the quasi periods are corresponded with dòu as same as commas. The two kind of period has different prosodic boundary, and different topic shift relations.. The grammatical form of dòu and jùduàn: The grammatical form of dòu is phrase or word group; whereas the form of jùduàn is equivalent to sentence group in English.. the causes of the flowing sentence: Unlike other languages, such as English or Korean, Chinese hasn t the grammatical rank of clause, which must and only be consist of a subject and a predicate; There are no restricts on grammatical classes to immediate constituents of all Chinese phrases. Keywords: the basic unit of Chinese text, prosodic boundaries, true period, quasi period, flowing sentence Onishi Katsuya: A Study on the Ditransitive Construction of the Take Verbs in the Old Chinese Abstract: This paper investigates the take verbs in Old Chinese and shows the following conclusions.these verbs are classified into two kinds: the verb is an three argument unaccusative verb and the verbandare two argument unergative verbs. There is not any structural difference between the ditransitive construction of the verband the give verbs.the lexical meaning of the verb determines whether the verb can emter a dative structure or a double object structure. In the Old Chinese, the inherent meaning of the verb is given priority over the meaning of the construction. Therefore, the dative alternation only rarely appeared.
