Almost all ant hropological schools and prominent anthropologists have left their research achievements in the field of mythological studies. In fact, myt hological narrative has profound historical connotation in it. This paper attempt s to make a concise genealogical review of t he myt hological st udies in ant hropology. And t his will be beneficial to the theoretical reflections on the discipline, to the development of methodology and to the indigenization practice of China s et hnology and ant hropology. Overseas Chinese Studies in the Ethnology of Ma inland China, Hong Kong and Ta iwan Zeng Shaocong (93) Abstract : Massive emigration emerged in China as early as in the middle of the Ming The emigrant s have lived and made great effort to acquire development in foreign countries, thus forming the ethnic group in local societies. The overseas Chinese are the outcome of t he emigration and development of t he Chinese nation in foreign count ries. As et hnic minorities in all foreign countries except Singapore, they have drawn the attention of ethnological studies. This paper makes a review of t he overseas Chinese st udies in et hnological circles of Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
