My kind of beauty is not so much a style nor theme, but a mood and understanding not belonging to a particular space and period; a synthesis of classical influences. As was her mother, Barry is an enthusiastic watercolourist, and her latest collection is infused with inspiration from paintings by John Singer Sargent. Beginning with hand-painted watercolour drafts for each detail, she conveys the essence of watercolour paintings via a fluid and atmospheric design language.
