English Week An English Week was held from 10th to 14th December 2012. Below is a list of the activities organized for our students. English Word Games Solo Verse Speaking Performance Tongue Twister Competition Spelling Game Singing Contest Book Fair EMI Classes Apart from using English as the medium of instruction in most subjects, the following activities are organized for our EMI classes to maximize students exposure to English. Song Dedication Friday English Games English Karaoke Drama Class Reading Class English Ambassadors To create an English-rich environment in school, an English Ambassador and trained as English ambassadors. They visited each junior class regularly, playing English language games with their schoolmates. Meeting with the Principal S6 students had a chance to talk to the Principal in English as oral practice for the public examination. Students found this programme very rewarding as Greetings to Primary School Principals and Teachers To express gratitude to their primary school principals and teachers, S1 students wrote season s greetings in English on Christmas cards which were then sent to their primary schools. Extra Training for Newly-arrived Students An ipad English Programme has been held for students who have recently immigrated to Hong Kong from the Mainland. They can learn English with fun outside class with the forty ipads which are now available in the English Corner. Free English Tutorial Classes English Morning Assembly Lau Wing Yu (6E) - Champion of the Singing Contest Solo Verse Speaking Performance Tongue Twister Competition Spelling Game To provide students in need with more learning opportunities, free Saturday English tutorial classes have been arranged for them. Oral Practice with NET Our NET Mr Bond conducts oral discussions for our S6 students during lunchtime on Tuesdays and Thursdays. This is a good chance for the students to interact using natural English. Book Fair 3
