Dear graduating students, it must be a huge relief that the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination is finally over. But at the same time, you might be keen to know what the new chapter will unfold for you. With numerous options for academic progression, it is not unusual for you to feel a bit puzzled or lost. As advised by your teachers, you are encouraged to chart your own course by having good life planning. We believe that students having a firm grasp of life planning are capable of moving ahead as if aided by an automatic navigation device. They could make an informed decision based on their own interests, abilities and career aspirations, drawing reference to information on further studies as well as various trades and professions. Youngsters with skills for life planning and a positive attitude are more likely to create for themselves a bright future step by step. As the saying goes, opportunity favours the prepared mind. You will get your results of the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination very soon. It might be wise to anticipate and prepare well for different possible scenarios now. The Careers Guidance Handbook for Secondary School Graduates is the product of our concerted efforts with the Education Bureau. As an up-to-date guide, it provides secondary school graduates with objective and accurate information on pursuing further studies. The first section on student guidance offers tips about things you should note when you start making plans for further studies, while the second section outlines various kinds of study programmes in an easy-to-read manner. 4 輔導篇2 新學制 : 讓學生認識自我, 盡展所長 程淑儀女士教育局課程發展處 新學制自 2009 年 9 月由中四級開始推行, 至今已完成第五個三年高中課程的周期 於 2016 年, 共有 多名考生參加香港中學文憑考試 ( 文憑試 ), 成績將於 7 月 13 日公布 寬廣而均衡的高中課程為學生提供多元化的選擇, 照顧學生不同的興趣 能力及需要, 促進全人發展, 讓他們的潛能得到充分發揮 學生在高中除了必修 4 個核心科目外, 即中國語文 英國語文 數學及通識教育, 還可從 20 個涵蓋不同學習領域的選修科目 一系列的應用學習課程和 6 個其他語言課程中, 可按自己的志趣和能力, 選讀 2 至 3 個科目 多元的選修科為學生開拓更豐富及靈活的學習空間, 提升學習效能 此外, 學生亦可透過參與不同的 其他學習經歷, 包括德育及公民教育 社會服務 與工作有關的經驗 藝術發展和體育發展, 拓闊視野, 培養正面的價值觀和態度, 使他們成為終身學習者, 具備可持續發展的能力 國際認可及各方回饋均肯定了高中課程對學生有正面的影響 新學制讓學生能更順暢地銜接多元化升學和就業的出路 ; 完成高中課程後, 學生可選擇在本地的大學或專上院校升讀學士學位或副學位課程, 或因應個人的志向和能力, 修讀毅進文憑或其他教育課程 此外, 學生可選擇負笈內地或境外升學 新學制及香港中學文憑資歷已獲得國際的廣泛認可, 現時全球已有超過 230 所高等院校接納文憑試的成績作為入學要求, 當中包括多所世界知名學府 在 2016 年,84 所內地高等院校會豁免香港學生參加 聯招考試, 直接以文憑試成績擇優錄取香港學生 在職場方面, 政府由 2012 年 7 月 20 日開始, 在聘任公務員時已接受香港中學文憑資歷為入職的要求 ; 其他僱主團體對新學制的資歷亦表示支持, 並認同 其他學習經歷 有助學生為未來的就業發展奠下基礎 新學制提供多樣化的課程選擇, 學生在學校的協助下能及早為生涯規劃做好準備, 穩步踏上升學或就業的多元出路 根據教育局於 2015 年 11 月從學校收集的資料顯示, 在 2015 年中六畢業生中, 有約 78% 的學生選擇在本地繼續升學, 包括 28% 修讀學士學位課程,50% 就讀副學位或其他課程 此外, 約 10% 的畢業生到境外繼續學業, 而選擇就業的約有 6% 我們期望所有畢業生已裝備終身學習的能力, 積極探索自我和尋找到人生方向, 在不同的領域中盡展所長, 實現人生抱負

5 The New Academic Structure: Enabling Students to Develop Their Selfunderstanding and Unleash Their Talents Ms CHING Suk-yee Curriculum Development Institute, Education Bureau Student Guidance The New Academic Structure (NAS) has been implemented at Secondary 4 since September The fifth 3-year cycle of the Senior Secondary curriculum has been completed smoothly this year. In 2016, around candidates are taking part in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination, and their results will be released on 13 July The broad and balanced Senior Secondary curriculum provides diversified choices to cater for students interests, abilities and needs. It promotes students whole-person development and stretches their potentials fully. Apart from the four core subjects, namely Chinese Language, Language, Mathematics and Liberal Studies, senior secondary students can choose two to three subjects from 20 elective subjects across the Key Learning Areas, a range of Applied Learning courses and six other language courses according to their aptitudes and abilities. The multi-faceted curriculum provides students with an enriched and flexible environment to enhance their learning. Students can also acquire a wide range of Other Learning Experiences (OLE), comprising Moral and Civic Education, Community Service, Career-related Experiences, Aesthetic Development and Physical Development. It widens students exposure, cultivates their positive values and attitudes and leads them to be lifelong learners equipped with capabilities for sustainable growth. International recognition and different feedback have proven the positive impact of the Senior Secondary curriculum on students. The NAS facilitates students smooth articulation to multiple pathways. On completion of the Senior Secondary curriculum, students may choose to pursue a degree or sub-degree programme at the local universities or post-secondary institutions, or enrol in the Diploma Yi Jin or other education programmes according to their personal aspirations and abilities. Alternatively, students may opt for further studies in the Mainland or other places. The NAS and HKDSE have received worldwide recognition. At present, over 230 overseas tertiary institutions, including renowned ones, are admitting Hong Kong students based on their HKDSE qualification. In 2016, 84 Mainland universities will exempt Hong Kong students from taking the Joint Entrance Examination for Universities and admit them on the strength of their HKDSE Examination results. As for employment, the Government has started to recognise the HKDSE qualification as the entry requirement for civil service appointments since 20 July Other employer groups have also confirmed their support for the qualification, and recognise that OLE helps preparing students for future career development. The NAS provides diversified choices for further studies. Students are given room for selfexploration and selection of appropriate subjects. With the support of schools, they are wellprepared for life planning and can move on to multiple pathways of their choice. As shown from the statistics collected in November 2015 from schools, about 78% of the Secondary 6 graduates in 2015 were pursuing their studies locally, including 28% studying degree programmes and 50% taking sub-degree or other programmes. Furthermore, around 10% of the graduates were pursuing studies outside Hong Kong while around 6% chose to join the job market. We hope that all students are well-equipped with the lifelong learning capabilities and able to keep a positive attitude in exploring own talents to find out their directions, as well as realise their potentials and aspirations in different fields. 3

6 輔導篇4 探索學生多元出路 簡介新學制提供更廣闊及均衡的課程, 讓學生建立更寬廣的知識基礎, 在升學時有更多選擇 有別於過往傳統的專科限制 ( 即文 理 商分流 ), 現在學生能夠同時選修理科 文科 商科或其他科技科目, 例如修讀文科的學生在大學可選修中醫科目 此外, 在專上教育程度, 學生在選擇專修科目前, 有多一年時間去發掘他們的志趣 這些轉變讓參加香港中學文憑考試 ( 中學文憑試 ) 的畢業生有更多機會, 根據個人興趣 能力及志向, 尋找 新高中畢業生的升學選擇及途徑圖一 ( 第 8 頁 ) 顯示, 報考 2016 中學文憑試約有 日校生 為了更全面剖析高中畢業生的升學選擇及途徑, 我們會把學生分為 3 組, 分別是成績優異 中等及有意選擇其他或參加訓練的學生, 逐一討論他們可選擇的出路 成績優異的學生這些學生會有較多的升學選擇 凡在中學文憑試考獲 ( 即中國語文及英國語文科達第 3 級 數學及通識教育科達第 2 級 ); 及 1 個或 2 個選修科目達第 2 或 3 級, 即視為符合大學教育資助委員會 ( 教資會 ) 資助的本地大學課程的最低入學資格 在 2016 年, 教資會資助院校會提供 個學士學位課程學額供中學文憑試考生, 透過 大學聯合招生辦法 ( 大學聯招 ) 系統進行招生程序 誠然, 以上只是基本入學要求, 考獲更高成績的學生有較大 徐恩祖香港輔導教師協會義務顧問 機會在新學制下取得一個大學學額 按 2015 年的經 驗, 同學要在聯招取得一個政府資助學位, 以四個 核心科目加一個選修科 (4C+1X) 來計算, 必須取 得最少 21 分或以上的成績 由於水漲船高, 預料今 年門檻將提高 這批成績優異的學生亦可報讀國際 知名的大學, 這些大學均接受中學文憑試考生直接 報讀, 當中包括牛津 劍橋等頂尖學府 成績中等的學生 假如學生未能考獲以上 ( 即 4C+1X=21) 的成績, 可考慮報讀非教資會資助院校的學士學位課程, 或 副學位課程 現時, 除參加 大學聯招 的 8 所教 資會資助院校外, 本港也有一些自資院校, 包括香 港公開大學 香港樹仁大學 珠海學院及恒生管理 學院等, 開辦認可學士學位課程 這些私立院校將 為 2016 年中學文憑試考生, 提供約 個學士學 位課程學額 參加中學文憑試的學生, 如在 4 個核 心科目及 1 個選修科目考獲 的成績, 便 可申請報讀 副學位課程包括副學士課程及高級文 憑課程, 兩者均為獨立及有價值的資歷, 有助畢業 生在未來升學進修或投身社會 一般來說, 高級文 憑課程內容以職業導向為主, 專業知識與實用技能 並重 ; 副學士課程則着重通識教育, 教授一般技能 和相關學科的知識 在新學制下, 最低入學要求為 中學文憑試 5 科 ( 包括中國語文及英國語文 ) 考獲 第 2 級, 而其中不多於 2 科為應用學習科目 1 香港中學文憑考試採用水平參照模式匯報評核結果 成績匯報共分五個等級 (1-5), 第 5 級為最高等級 在考獲第 5 級的考生中, 表現最優異的, 其成績將以 ** 標示, 隨後表現較佳的則以 * 標示

7 Student Guidance 政府近年致力增加學士學位課程的高年級學額及銜接學位課程學額, 供副學位畢業生報讀, 以確保在學習上有能力的副學士 / 高級文憑課程畢業生, 有合理機會升讀大學 此舉為有足夠學習能力但在公開試中失手的學生提供踏腳石, 讓他們有多一次機會, 在有興趣的專業及科目上發展才能, 踏上成功之路 有意選擇其他或參加訓練的學生有志投身社會的畢業生, 可報讀職業訓練課程或選擇就業 職業訓練局 ( 職訓局 ) 提供多類課程, 內容涵蓋各行各業 這些課程在相關行業認受性高, 為課程學生而設的銜接課程亦深受歡迎 學生如有意從事某個行業, 不論他們持有何種學歷, 均可考慮報讀職訓局的課程 在中學文憑試中 3 科考獲第 2 級者 ( 如 3 科成績不包括英國語文, 英國語文須達第 1 級 ), 可報讀職訓局的基礎課程文憑 ; 完成新學制的中六教育者, 可報讀該局的職專文憑 職訓局同時提供各式各樣的職業訓練 另外, 如果學生在中學文憑試未能考獲滿意的成績, 可報讀毅進文憑課程 在完成 8 個科目後, 毅進文憑畢業生可獲得等同 5 個科目達第 2 級 的資格, 以報讀高級文憑或副學士課程 除了繼續升學外, 學生考畢中學文憑試後也可選擇就業 政府作為本港最大的僱主, 已於 2011 年 6 月宣布, 由 2012 年 7 月 20 日起接受中學文憑試成績作為投考公務員的要求, 詳細資料載於公務員事務局網頁 這項安排亦為其他僱主提供有用的指標, 幫助他們考慮本身的招聘要求 其他出路 : 內地及海外升學新學制的明顯優點, 就是更暢順銜接升學及就業途徑 4 年制大學課程是大部分國家所採用的主流制度, 新學制與國際教育接軌, 為銜接海外升學提供更佳的門檻 畢業生到內地或海外升學無須再應考入學試, 對於未能在本地升讀高等教育課程的中學文憑試學生, 新學制無疑便利他們到海外升學 新學制的學生可因應個人的志向和能力, 考慮國內升學或負笈海外 以較受學生歡迎的國家為例, 英國有超過 300 所高等院校提供逾 個學士學位課程, 美國亦有 所經評審的高等院校提供逾 600 個主修科目, 供同學選擇 由於學士學位學額供應充裕, 很多國內或海外大學均訂定了實際的入學要求, 只要申請者符合所列的要求, 便會獲得有條件或無條件取錄 對於現時香港院校沒有開辦的課程, 例如林木業 犯罪學 獸醫等, 倘若學生有興趣修讀或在有關行業發展, 到國內或海外升學便是一個不錯的選擇 除了衡量各項選擇外, 家長及學生亦須考慮其他因素, 例如課程銜接 入學規定 認受性 學費 生活條件 獎學金等 由於赴外地進修需時數年, 對於父母及學生來說都可能是一種不少的投資 不少年幼學子到了國內或外地後, 往往因為不能適應完全獨立的生活, 未完成中學教育便已回港 因此, 如果學生有意往國內或外國升學, 應與家人儘早籌劃, 包括進行資料搜集, 以決定最適合的地方 大學和課程, 然後才提出申請 5

8 輔導篇6 Exploring multiple pathways under the New Academic Structure TSUI Yan Cho, Honorary Consultant of the Hong Kong Association of Careers Masters and Guidance Masters Introduction The new broader and more balanced curriculum under the New Academic Structure (NAS) allows students with a broader knowledge base to have more choices in pursuit of further studies. Now students can take science, arts, commercial or other technology subjects without the traditional early specialisation constraints (rigid arts, science or commerce streams). For example, a student doing arts subjects can now study Chinese Medicine at university too. Also, at the post-secondary level, students can have one more year to explore their area of interest before choosing their specialism. All these changes are providing our NAS graduates with genuine opportunities to pursue their studies according to their interests, abilities and aptitudes. Illustrated Cases of Options & Pathways for NAS Graduates Referring to Figure 1 (on page 9), it is estimated that there are around Secondary 6 graduates who will take the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination. To better illustrate the options and pathways for this new group of youngsters, let us discuss the possible scenarios for the three groups of students: the academic high-achievers, the average students and the academic lower-achievers. Academic high-achievers This group of students enjoys more options in their pathways. HKDSE students attaining Levels (i.e. Level 3 for Chinese Language and Language and Level 2 for Mathematics and Liberal Studies) plus Level 2 or 3 in one or two elective subject(s) in the HKDSE Examination are deemed to be meeting the minimum admission requirement for University Grants Committeefunded (UGC-funded) programmes offered by local universities. In 2016, there are places offered under UGC-funded institutions for HKDSE students and admissions to these institutions are to be done through the Joint University Programmes Admissions System (JUPAS). Of course, that is just a basic requirement and it is expected that higher performance in HKDSE might help a student to stand a better chance of a university place under the NAS. Meanwhile, these high-achievers are also eligible for applying to internationally-renowned universities. Universities worldwide are inviting HKDSE holders to apply to their institutions directly and these include Oxbridge and other top universities. For those who have average results in HKDSE If students cannot obtain the above HKDSE result (4C+1X=21), they may consider degree programmes offered by non-ugc-funded institutions or sub-degree programmes. Apart from the eight UGC-funded institutions under JUPAS, there are some other degree-awarding institutions which are self-financed. These include, but are not limited to, The Open University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Shue Yan University, Chu Hai College of Higher Education and the Hang Seng Management College, etc. These private institutions will provide around places for undergraduate degree programmes to the HKDSE students in Students attaining in four core subjects and one elective subject in the HKDSE are eligible for application. Sub-degree programmes include associate degree (AD) and higher diploma (HD) programmes, both of which are worthwhile standalone exit qualifications preparing graduates for further study or employment in the future. In general, HD programmes are more vocation-oriented in specialised disciplines with practical skills, whereas AD programmes put more emphasis on general education with generic skills and knowledge in the relevant disciplines. The minimum requirement under the NAS is set at Level 2 in five HKDSE subjects (including Chinese Language and Language) with no more than two Applied Learning subjects. The Government s recent endeavour to increase the senior year places for undergraduate programmes/ top-up degree programmes for sub-degree holders has ensured a reasonable admission proportion of AD/HD graduates who are academically capable. This path has proved to be a very good stepping stone for the 1 Results in the HKDSE are represented adopting Standards-Referenced Reporting (SRR). The results are expressed in terms of five levels of performance, of which 5 is the highest and 1 the lowest. The Level 5 candidates with the best performance will be awarded a 5**, and the next top group awarded a 5*.

9 Student Guidance academically more capable yet unfortunate ones in the public examination as they are given a second chance and can excel in the specialised and interested subjects. For those who wants to pursue other options of further studies and training Graduates with other vocational aptitudes can aspire to pursue vocational training or employment rather than going for post-secondary education. Courses offered by the Vocational Training Council (VTC) are always desirable for many students for VTC offers a broad spectrum of programmes, covering a wide range of industries. VTC courses enjoy good recognition in the related industries and their articulation programmes for course participants are also well-received. No matter what qualifications of students having, if they are interested in developing their career in a certain area, they can consider studying in VTC. For students of HKDSE, if they obtain Level 2 in 3 subjects in HKDSE (if Language is not one of these subjects, applicants are required to attain Level 1 in it), they may apply for the Diploma of Foundation Studies programmes. For students who have completed Secondary 6 education in the new structure, they can apply for the Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) courses at VTC. VTC also offers quite a full range of vocational training. Alternatively, students who cannot get satisfactory HKDSE results for various further studies options can take the Diploma Yi Jin programme. Upon completion of the eight required modules, Diploma Yi Jin graduates will obtain a qualification deemed comparable to the attainment of Level 2 in 5 subjects for entry to HD and AD programmes. Apart from furthering their studies, HKDSE graduates also have the option to enter the job market. Being the largest employer in Hong Kong, the Government announced in June 2011 that results in the HKDSE Examination would be accepted for civil service appointment purposes from 20 July 2012, onwards. Details can be found at gov.hk. It also provides a good reference to employers to consider their own employment requirements. Another Big Pathway: Overseas Study One obvious advantage of the NAS on student exit pathways is its provision of smoother pathways for articulation to further studies and work. While a 4-year curriculum at university is the mainstream in most countries in the international arena, the new structure no doubt offers a better gateway to overseas study. Graduates can consider studying abroad without having to take extra entrance examinations and this smoother international articulation allows our HKDSE students to pursue higher education elsewhere if they cannot do it locally. Under the new structure, students of all different aptitudes and abilities can consider this option. Take the most popular countries as examples, there are over 300 high institutions which offer more than degree programmes in the UK whereas in the USA, there are accredited high institutions and over 600 majors can be chosen by students. It is also because of the plentiful supply of degree places, many overseas universities set actual admission requirements. Once applicants meet the stated requirements, they will be given conditional or unconditional offer. And in Hong Kong, some disciplines like forestry, criminology or veterinary are not available. If students are interested in a particular subject or career path, studying in mainland or overseas may be a choice. Other than considering opportunities, there are still quite a lot of things, such as articulation and admission, recognition, study period, budget, living condition, scholarship and so on for parents and students to take into consideration. Leaving one s own country to study abroad for a few years can be a big investment for both students and parents. Many young children who are sent to study abroad always cannot adapt to their life living totally independently and come back to Hong Kong without completing their secondary education outside Hong Kong. Students and their families have to make good preparation at least one year before to do research and application so as to choose a country, a university and a study programme which best suits one s needs. 7

12 輔導篇10 聯招 調選及報讀聯招以外專上課程的注意事項 徐恩祖香港輔導教師協會義務顧問曾志滔香港輔導教師協會主席 文憑試放榜在即 經過一輪公開考試和大學面試的洗禮後, 同學對聯招中的選科或已有新的想法 事實上, 中六同學在放榜後還有一次調配機會 若調度得宜, 或會起扭轉乾坤的作用 若要調選, 文憑試同學均應考慮以下三大原則 : 一 興趣先行 : 仔細考慮你的興趣 你真正喜歡的課程是甚麼? 畢業後又如何發展自己的事業? 大學本科課程一般為期四年, 是一段寶貴的時間 若只求 入大學 和 攞學位 而選擇自己完全沒興趣的 水泡科, 四年的大學生活也不會過得開心 二 知己知彼 : 文憑試同學除可參考各院校去年的收生成績外 ( 中位數及四分三位數 ), 亦要留意課程的學位有否增減, 從而評估自己入讀個別課程的把握 今年除約 名日校考生報考文憑試外, 另外亦有約 考生以自修生身份參與文憑試 總考生人數為 人, 較去年的 人大幅減少 但估計今年的競爭依然不少 平均四科核心科目加一科選修科 (4C+1X) 收生分水嶺 (CUT SCORE) 仍然會維持於約 分的水平 同學應穩中求勝, 切忌好高鶩遠, 抱不切實際的期望 三 切合形勢 : 個別大學對各學系 / 課程有列明 必要科目 或 優先科目 等額外要求 同學應留意自己的成績能否配合 若自己於該些科目考取突出成績, 或能起關鍵作用 另外, 有參與 校長推薦計劃 的同學, 務必於放榜前登入聯招系統內的訊息欄, 查閱計劃的申請結果, 即 有條件取錄 獲較前排名 / 加分 或 不作特別考慮 若獲 有條件取錄 或 加分, 同學必須在放榜後將有關課程維持在 Band A, 該特別安排才會生效 四 專業教育不容忽視 : 政府在 2015/16 學年推出指定專業 / 界別課程資助計劃 對自資院校提供的護理 建築及工程 檢測及認證 創意工業 物流和旅遊及款待相關的學士學位課程提供學費資助, 高中畢業生可透過聯招系統報名 2016/17 學年此類課程共有十五個 首屆指定專業 / 界別課程課程的收生平均分數在 15 至 20 分之間 然而 收生分數較 八大 的學位課程為低 及 學費有大額資助 不應該是考慮這些課程與否的主因 課程是否和自己的興趣和職業發展志向配合才是最重要的考慮因素 調選操作 7 月 13 日文憑試放榜後的三天 (7 月 14 日至 16 日 ), 同學將獲派一特定時段進行調選 同學除可於二十個課程選擇中更改次序和刪除個別選擇外, 更可以新課程取代不超過五項課程 / 增選最多五項課程 ( 惟全部選報課程不能超過二十項 ) 同學可靈活運用此 五出五入 機制 若成績喜出望外, 可把有興趣但先前因收生要求嚴格而沒選擇的課程調入 ; 若文憑試成績未如理想, 可以把完全沒可能考上的課程選擇刪除, 以便騰出空間補選收生要求較低的課程, 甚至副學位課程 若成績比預期好, 可考慮把競爭較激烈但有把握 ( 參考去年收生成績和學額變動 ) 的課程放前 相反, 若成績比預期差, 則可考慮把收生要求較低 ( 但仍感興趣 ) 的課程放前 若重要科目失手, 例如欲報讀工程, 但數學和物理成績強差人意, 可將該些課程的選報次序調後一些, 把頗感興趣而相關科目又成績理想的課程放在 Band A, 增加成功取得學位的機會 學系會給予面試表現優良的同學加分, 因此同學亦應考慮把已參加面試而自覺表現不錯的課程放前, 提高入讀機會 至於先前因種種原因錯過了首輪面試的心儀課程, 可考慮在調選期間將之放回 Band A 爭取最後面試機會 惟同學必須注意, 並非所有課程都設文憑試成績公布後的面試, 因此, 同學或未能趕及參加放榜後才新增入的課程的面試 考生亦要留意個別課程有面試和筆試的特殊安排 ( 放榜後的面試安排以各院校的公布為準 ) 新學制下, 部分院校以學院制 / 大類 / 大系 / 廣泛收生 學生於入學後才選擇主修課程 / 主修 / 學科組別 而部分專業學位課程, 例如社會工作 中醫藥學 音樂 時裝及紡織 醫療科學 設計等會以獨立課程招生 但有個別院校 ( 如中大 嶺大和理大 ) 的學科會出現 雙軌收生 的情況 例如理大的 投資科學, 可以透過廣泛收生報讀 應用科學廣泛學科 或獨立學科 投資科學 收生報讀 若同學對 雙軌收生 的學科有濃厚興趣, 可考慮大系和獨立課程並選, 以增加入讀機會 但此舉亦同時消耗了兩個聯招選項名額 因此同學宜先查閱兩類收生的學額數目, 評估自己的勝算後才小心部署 院校亦提醒同學, 大系收生的要求不比獨立學科的收生要求低 ( 甚至更高 ), 提醒同學不要把大系收生課程看成走後門的捷徑

13 Student Guidance 聯招以外的專上課程 同學如果沒有百分之百信心循聯招獲得課程取錄, 但又打算繼續升學的話, 則必須把握機會入讀聯招以外的專上課程 這些課程涵蓋政府資助及自資課程 自資專上課程包括自資學位及副學位課程兩大類 在 2016 年, 在聯招系統以外約有 400 多個經本地評審的專上課程予文憑試的畢業生選擇 教育局設立了 專上課程電子預先報名平台 (E-APP), 一站式為新學制畢業生報讀全日制經本地評審非聯招副學位和學士學位課程 1 跟聯招不同, 同學向各院校的申請是獨立的, 即是如果部署得宜而又符合課程入學要求, 同學是有機會在聯招以外獲得多於一個專上課程取錄 但同學須緊記,E-APP 只是一個統一的申請平台, 同學仍需個別向各院校繳交 $50-$310 報名費或處理其他手續 而在放榜後的四個工作天內, 獲取錄的同學亦需繳付約 $5,000 的留位費作實 如同學已錯失 5 月 23 日的 E-APP 首輪截止報名日期, 必須抓緊 5 月 30 日至 6 月 30 日的次輪申請 由於院校的課程學位有限, 我們建議同學儘量於放榜前辦理申請, 避免出現去年文憑試考生一窩蜂排隊但向隅的混亂情況 近年副學位及自資學士學位課程發展有如雨後春筍, 增長迅速 為幫助同學更快捷方便地搜尋各聯招或非聯招的專上教育課程, 教育局與香港輔導教師協會共同開發了一個網頁 / 手機應用程式 e 導航 新學制多元出路 (enavigator.edb.hkedcity.net) 這是一個生涯規劃探索工具, 讓學生瀏覽本地在新學制下不同院校及不同程度 ( 如學士學位 高級文憑及副學士等 ) 的課程資料 建議同學同時瀏覽 自資專上教育資訊平台 ( 經評審專上課程資料網(www. ipass.gov.hk) 及資歷名冊 ( 上的資料, 查詢各自資課程內容 學費 學術評審 專業認證及畢業生出路等有用資訊 同學選擇課程時, 宜留意下列數點 : 一 仍以興趣先行 : 經過高中的歷煉後, 成績一般的同學相信已深深體會到要與自己不感興趣而又力有不逮的科目朝夕相對的箇中苦況 由於同學於副學位課程的成績會直接影響你銜接大學或就業的機會, 若只為 就手 而盲目或敷衍地選擇沒有興趣的課程, 實際上等同於把銜接大學學位或受聘的機會拱手相讓! 同樣地, 完成一個自己興趣不大的自資學位課程後, 僱主或研究院的收生人員也因感受不到你的熱誠而對你的印象大打折扣 相比聯招內的政府資助的學士課程, 選擇副學位或自資學位這片 新天地 時, 由於課程選擇較多, 同學往往更能忠於自己的興趣, 隨心而行, 讀起來更得心應手 一直以來酒店 護理 社工 中醫等都是聯招內炙手可熱的課程, 成績平平的考生往往無緣問津 ; 但同學若考慮學額較充裕的副學位或自資學士課程, 便有機會修讀這些 最愛 科目, 如魚得水, 追尋自己的夢想 二 院校的教學質素 : 根據去年經驗, 在非聯招專上課程招生時有部分院校嚴重超收, 直接或間接影響教學質素及支援服務 同學在報讀課程時, 切忌只盲目追求名牌, 畢竟院校的教學質素 設施 學習支援以至出路乃是考慮時更重要的一環 三 評審認受 : 這裡是指課程的學術評審及專業資格認受 無論是學位或副學位課程, 其學歷和課程質素要獲得政府承認, 或同學欲為修讀該課程而申請 專上學生資助計劃, 都必先經過香港學術及職業資歷評審局 (HKCAAVQ) 評審 ( 具備自行評審資格的院校除外 ) 同學可登入經評審專上課程資料網 ( 查詢心儀課程的學術評審及專業資格認受情況 同樣地, 有些專業課程的畢業生可同時獲得業界的專業認可 ( 如社工 護理 ), 或豁免有關專業試 ( 如會計 ), 同學選擇時必須查閱清楚 舉例說, 在香港要成為註冊社工, 必先獲得香港社會工作者註冊局認可 同學切忌張冠李戴, 誤以為 應用社會服務 等同於 社會工作, 同樣享有註冊社工的資格, 最終畢業後才發現資歷不獲當局認可, 賠上寶貴的時間和金錢 四 目標學歷及升學銜接 : 一般來說, 副學士較側重通識等共通能力, 準備同學升讀大學 ; 而高級文憑則着重學科的專業訓練, 預備同學就業 ; 而不少自資學士學位的畢業生也會繼續修讀碩士學位或立即投身相關行業 同學選擇時, 宜先釐清自己的短長期目標, 是就業? 副學位? 大學學士? 或甚至是碩士學歷? 在職場上, 僱主傾向聘請以專業訓練為主的高級文憑畢業生 而同學若打算升學, 就必須先做好功課, 搜查有關課程畢業生升讀大學比率的資料, 並小心求證 譬如說, 某院校公布副學位畢業生升讀大學的比率為百分之八十, 但當中有多少是屬於政府資助的大學學士課程? 是銜接政府資助大學二年級又或是三年級? 又有多少是屬於院校自己開辦的自資學士課程, 又或是海外院校的銜接課程? 這些海外院校的銜接學士課程又是否已獲香港學術及職業資歷評審局認可? 即使同樣是學士程度, 由於各類課程的內容 認受性 及學費都各有不同, 同學抉擇時宜加倍留意 原則上, 同學若修讀在大學有相對應學科的副學位課程, 較容易循非聯招途徑銜接政府資助的學士學位課程 五 及學費 : 無論是副學位或學士學位課程, 同學考慮修讀時, 宜先預計達到目標學歷所需的及學費, 跟家人事先商量, 以免辛辛苦苦考取學位後卻換來 一身債 由於聯招以外的專上課程林林總總, 五花八門, 同學必須預早規劃和準備, 做好資料搜集, 切勿在放榜後短短數日內草率決定 1 不包括香港樹仁大學及香港演藝學院的課程, 因為院校可自由選擇是否參與 E-APP 計劃 11

14 輔導篇12 Principles for Reprioritising of Programme Choices under Joint University Programmes Admissions System (JUPAS) and Tips for Choosing Post-secondary Programmes not covered by JUPAS Joe TSUI (Honorary Consultant) and TSANG Chi To (Chairperson) Hong Kong Association of Careers Masters and Guidance Masters Students have the opportunity of reprioritising their programme choices under JUPAS after the announcement of the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) results. In doing so, you should take note of the following: Interest should be the most important factor affecting your choice. Think carefully which programmes you really like and the planning after graduation. It is precious time to study undergraduate programmes which last for three to four years. Your university life will not be happy if you study in a programme you have no interest at all. HKDSE candidates may refer to the past records of admission qualification of the programmes you prefer and pay attention to the number of intakes of each programme. There will be about day school candidates and private candidates in this year s HKDSE. It is anticipated that the competition is still very keen. Individual universities outline programme entrance requirements with mandatory subjects and preferred subject. You should check whether you will be able to meet the admission requirements. It may help if the results of these subjects are excellent. For those joining School Principal s Nominations, you can view the feedback by logging in onto the JUPAS online application system. If you are given a conditional offer or bonus points, you should list the programme in Band A so that this arrangement can become effective. A new subsidy scheme is introduced starting from the 2015/16 academic year to subsidise designated fulltime locally-accredited self-financing undergraduate programmes such as health care, architecture and engineering, testing and certification, creative industry, logistics, and tourism and hospitality. Students may refer to Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions/Sectors (SSSDP) ( sssdp/en/index.asp) for details of the participating institutions, the programmes and the number of places to be subsidised under each programme. Tips for Choosing Post-secondary Programmes not covered by the JUPAS publicly-funded and self-financing programmes. Selffinancing programmes including degree and sub-degree programmes. In 2016, about 400 locally-accredited programmes will be provided for HKDSE candidates. Electronic Advance Application System for Post-secondary Programmes (E-APP) is an internet-based system newly developed by the Education Bureau. You may apply locallyaccredited sub-degree and bachelor degree programmes not covered by JUPAS. Remember that E-APP is an alternative application platform. You may be requested for an application fee and to handle other admission matters according to the policy of individual institution. Within 4 working days from release of examination results, students who confirmed offers are required for payment of enrolment deposits. The deadline for E-APP to accept first round of application is 23 May In choosing self-financing sub-degree and degree programmes, the following should be noted: Your interest. Quality of institution. Academic accreditation and professional recognition of a programme. Learning outcomes and articulation opportunities for further studies. Programme duration and tuition fees. In order to assist New Academic Structure students to easily access programme information of JUPAS and non-jupas, the Education Bureau and the Hong Kong Association of Careers Masters and Guidance Masters developed a website and mobile application e-navigator: Multiple Pathways under the New Academic Structure (enavigator.edb.hkedcity.net). This career exploration tool helps students search for programme information across different local institutions and levels (e.g. degrees, higher diplomas and associate degrees) under the New Academic Structure. Students may also refer to Concourse for Self-financing Post-secondary Education ( for information on self-financing post-secondary programmes. If you are not confident of getting a place through JUPAS, you may consider post-secondary programmes not covered by JUPAS. These programmes cover both 1 Expect those offered by the Hong Kong Shue Yan University & The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts as participation in E-APP is on a voluntary basis.

15 升學面試的準備 要別人好好認識你! 何玉芬博士香港輔導教師協會榮譽顧問 Student Guidance 對中學畢業生而言, 離開中學校園, 前路是未知數 - 升讀大學 專上學院 又或是踏入工作世界, 尋找工作 不少學生和家長都會問 : 公開試成績是否主宰一切? 個人以為不然 了解近年大學 專上學院收生制度的, 都知道大部份課程收生都不會以成績為單一考慮因素, 僱主聘任人才就更不可能只看畢業生的學業能力 對好一些課程和專業 ( 例如 : 醫護專業 教育 酒店管理 藝術 社會工作等 ) 而言, 申請人是否擁有該學科或專業範疇期望的共通能力 專項能力或潛質 性格 相關的興趣 個人願景等, 與學術水平同等重要! 更多的大學 大專學系給予申請人面試機會, 並將面試表現計算在入學分數內 ; 新學制的畢業生會預備 學生學習概覽, 整理高中的學習經驗 - 面試和 學生學習概覽, 兩者也是讓收生人員了解自己的難得機會 面試 : 兩分鐘決定一切? 曾有研究結果顯示, 面試考官在首兩分鐘己對申請人有決定性的印象 ; 同學常誤以為面試考官如中學老師, 理所當然地給予你無限的包容和忍耐 願花上以年計的時間去了解你 這種掉以輕心的態度, 往往是致命的! 面試是一個彼此認識及溝通的過程, 真正的面試成功關鍵, 不在乎技巧及外表打扮, 而在於你的個人質素, 特別是你透過面試過程流露出來的性格和態度 認真 守時 有禮 為面試或工作作好準備 做足功課, 這些看似顯而易見的基本態度及行為, 往往是同學知而不行, 不認真處理的準備工作 對, 關鍵就在於, 你是否願意多做一點 多走一步 以下是一些基本準備工作 : 1. 做足功課, 作充足準備搜集有關學系或機構的資料, 至少要仔細看過課程手冊或機構網頁之介紹 如有 學生學習概覽, 參加面試前應重溫概覽的內容 2. 答案精簡無論你對面試的問題有多了解, 你回答問題的時間應在二十秒至兩分鐘內 3. 如何給人較佳的印象? 關於你的儀容 - 一個清潔 整齊的形象, 容易為自己加分 注意頭髮及指甲是否整齊清潔 ; 男生不要滿臉鬚根 ; 女生的化妝及飾物宜清淡簡單, 衣著宜大方簡樸, 切勿穿涼鞋, 太誇張的打扮會令人注意你的外表, 而忽略了你的內涵 ; 當然, 面試的服飾要因應不同學系或工種而有差異 關於你的舉止 - 除非主考者主動, 否則你不必主動 與他握手, 若有此需要, 握手時切忌軟弱無力, 要面帶微笑 ; 與主考人員保持眼神接觸 ; 小動作可能是面試的致命傷 關於你的自信 - 不要忽視你中學時代的成就, 包括社區服務 課外活動等 ; 記著, 你不是如數家珍的列出課外活動的項目, 而是嘗試強調你在這些活動中鍛煉出來的能力及質素 ; 說話的聲線要適中 ; 切勿打斷別人的說話 關於你的禮貌 - 對別人保持禮貌 ; 面試完結時, 以誠懇的態度多謝主考人員給你面試的機會 關於你的價值觀 - 誠實 盡責 主動 積極 依規則辦事 ; 避免讓人覺得你鋒芒太露或喜歡挑戰別人 ; 切記準時! 4. 預備以基本問題的回應 a. 請以一分鐘時間介紹自己 ( 中 英文 ) b. 為甚麼選讀此系? c. 你對大學生活有何期望? d. 你的理想 目標是甚麼? e. 請介紹你的課外活動, 從中你學到甚麼? 請說出一次難忘的體驗或經歷 f. 你的閱讀習慣是怎樣的? g. 你最欣賞的歷史人物是誰? 為甚麼? h. 你對香港的大學生有何看法? i. 你有甚麼優點? j. 你有甚麼缺點? 就大學課程面試而言, 多以英語進行, 著重同學的表達及組織能力 演說能力以及批判思考能力 同學要多看多思考時事 在小組討論中要主動參與, 以輕鬆的心情投入討論, 表達個人的分析和立場 衣著方面只要自然大方, 貼合學生身份便可 面試形式很多時以小組形式進行, 須分享個人強項及對課程的興趣, 與主考人員及其他考生有眼神等交流, 注意表達技巧 小組面試時不應搶答, 主考人員會給同學回答的機會 面試目的其實是雙向的, 一方面對同學的能力 興趣作出評估, 另一方面讓同學了解課程內容及畢業出路 由於面試安排需大量人力和時間, 院校都只能篩選部份申請人進行面試, 一般而言, 聯招的課程都會優先處理 Band A 的申請 中七畢業生有中學會考成績為依據, 新高中畢業生如需參與面試, 院校會考慮不同因素, 包括校長推薦書 (SRR) 的內容 同學的校內成績及等次 比賽 / 活動的經驗及成就 (OEA) 師長評語 300 字的自述等 個別視覺藝術課程會考慮同學的藝術作品集 (portfolio), 提交藝術作品集的重點是要觀察同學是否有能力系統地整理自己的作品, 特別是發展作品的過程及自我評鑑 13

17 Student Guidance 學生學習概覽 : 中學生涯的 履歷表? 學生學習概覽 (SLP) 可說是新高中學生的高中學習歷程紀錄, 既有由校方提供的高中三年校內成績, 學生也可選擇列出與個人興趣 能力相關的學習經驗和成就, 並透過自述反思個人成長經驗和升學 事業的願景 與其說它像履歷, 不如說它是更立體 全面地反映個人成長和特質的文本 SLP 可以是同學申請升學 就業的重要參考文件, 但若單從功利的角度出發, 有人會以為找一個最完美的 範本 就無往而不利! 這個想法大錯特錯! 單以實用 ( 升學申請 ) 角度而言, 系內教授亦有豐富經驗分辨同學的自述是範本還是個人經歷, 以及同學的價值觀及對社會的敏感度等 要寫一篇好的概覽, 認真的紀錄和反思工作是基礎 撰寫自述的策略 1. 回顧在中學階段經驗過的一切, 包括那些對你而言有特別意義的事件 搜集相關的報告 證書 檔案 文章等等, 可按時間順序排列整理 2. 檢視 回顧這些重要的紀錄, 哪些內容可成為你自我介紹的重點? 3. 自述是令你 閃亮 的好機會, 不論那是由於個人成就 難得的體驗, 甚至是從挫折中成長的生命故事 4. 盡最大的努力對心儀課程 / 職業認識多一點 我們沒有自述文章的完美配方 大學招生人員給我們的意見是, 最獲得欣賞的文章, 便是那些真實反映個人成長經驗 展現創意 個人特質, 並不吹噓造作的自述 以下是大學招生人員的一些建議 : 說明怎樣發展出對某學科的興趣和能力 : 同學闡述對某學科 / 課程產生興趣的背景和原因時, 宜輔以合理的解釋和說明 : 如 去年我於甲公司實習了三個月, 負責採購和營運, 從此便對商業運作產生了濃厚的興趣 選擇某院校 / 課程的原因 : 同學講述經歷時, 可同時顯示自己對某課程的深入認識 : 如 甲院校的工商管理課程向來重視社會企業責任, 並為學生提供無數的增值機會, 因此激發起我入讀的決心 寫作須認真而嚴謹 : 下筆前先把內容組織一下, 完成後小心核對文章的內容和活動名稱, 確保沒有錯誤或重覆贅累的部分, 讓讀者感受到同學認真嚴謹的態度 顯示你的獨特之處 : 一般來說, 招生人員期望透過申請人的自述了解他 / 她的性格 抱負 修讀原因或是否適合該課程 因此, 自述文章要寫得好, 所講的故事便要主線明確, 同時能表達申請人的熱誠與個性, 切忌陳腔濫調 人云亦云, 這樣才能使招生人員對申請人有獨特而深刻的印象 筆者深信, 任何努力都不會白費! 勉勵同學以認真的態度準備學生學習概覽 準備好每一次面試, 把握人生每一個難得的機會 認識心儀的學系 / 學院 / 課程 : 同學須真切地表達對心儀學系 / 學院 / 課程的認識, 切忌為取悅招生人員, 過份吹捧學系 / 學院 / 課程的成就 15

18 輔導篇16 Preparing for interviews Dr Esther HO Honorary Advisor of the Hong Kong Association of Careers Masters and Guidance Masters An interview is a process that aims to foster communication and mutual understanding. The key to success in interview is not tactics or attractive appearance, but your personal qualities, especially the personality and attitude you display. Making good preparation as well as being conscientious, punctual and polite are the basic things that students know but seldom do or take seriously. Truly, the key to success lies in whether you are willing to do a little bit more, or take a further step. Preparation for interview 1. Be well-prepared. 2. Be concise and precise when answering questions. 3. Impress interviewers by maintaining a pleasant appearance, being polite, wearing smiles, keeping eye contact, stating the strengths and good qualities that you have acquired through extra-curricular activities, and showing your values. 4. Basic model questions Please make a one-minute self-introduction (in Cantonese and ). Why do you choose this department/ faculty? What are your expectations for university life? What are your goals and aspirations? Please give an account of your extra-curricular activities and what you have learned from them. Please tell us one of your most unforgettable experiences. What is your reading habit? Who is your most admired historic figure? Why? How do you see university students in Hong Kong? What are your strengths? What are your weaknesses? Students Learning Profile (SLP) Students Learning Profile (SLP) is a summary record of what students achieve, in terms of their whole-person development. It includes a personal reflective account on one s growth and career aspiration. It is important that students are encouraged not to follow any sample writings or templates. Students are advised to record and reflect on their learning experiences that emphasizes a genuine understanding and expression of one s characteristics so as to impress readers with their genuineness. Strategies to Write a Good Self- Account of SLP 1. Visit your track records in academic and non-academic aspects, including collections of reports, certificates, portfolios, and even journals or articles your wrote for some memorable events/ critical incidences (e.g. an article you wrote for the school magazine or your experience in an inter-school competition). Arrange them in chronological order. 2. Do your records show your achievements, improvement or growth in specific areas? What information can be highlighted in your self-account? 3. Your self-account is your chance to shine. You can share your accomplishments, valuable experiences and what you have learnt from difficulties or setbacks. 4. Ground yourself in reality rather than abstraction. Research the institutions, the programmes, or the particular field of study you are applying for or are interested in. Talk to people who are attending or have graduated from the institution to obtain more information. We understand that there is no perfect recipe for a good self-account. University/ college admission officers/ people look for authenticity about one s reflection on learning experiences and personal growth. They would treasure creativity and uniqueness demonstrated through one s account of their passion, career aspirations and goals in life. Most importantly, they regard honesty really important. They are so experienced in reading application essays from students that it is easy for them to identify whether the content is fake or just another version of standard template. The following are the suggestions from University Admission Officers: Understanding the Target Faculty/ School/ Programme Explain the background which nurtures the student s interest in a specific programme/ area Summarizes the reasons for choosing a particular university (a specific programme) amongst others Write carefully and systematically Show uniqueness

19 面對逆境, 由正向思維開始 馮鄭惠儀香港輔導教師協會幹事 Student Guidance 每年公開考試放榜日, 愁眉苦臉的學生的數目總是多於眉飛色舞的 學生若考得不理想, 那他自然會發愁, 但不少考得好的學生也在愁, 因為他們擔心不能進入理想的學系 由於現在放榜後還可以改選聯招志願, 所以掌握資訊是十分重要的, 在此不作詳細討論, 反而想著重談談如何面對這難過的一刻 放榜當日通常哭得最兇的是那些明知考得不太好, 但又期望有奇蹟出現的同學 但哭過之後也是要面對現實, 我們要怎樣理智的去面對呢? 以下介紹五種面對逆境的態度 : 一 積極樂觀的態度 已經放榜了, 成績無論怎樣也改變不了 既然改變不了客觀的事實, 那麼可以改變的便只是自己的想法 你可以選擇自怨自艾 怨天怨地的過你的日子, 亦可以選擇以積極正面的態度去面對 曾遇到一位朋友, 她對任何事情均抱有負面的態度, 每次與她談話, 她總是喋喋不休的訴說她的苦況 她遇到的悲慘事件 起初也是很同情她的, 但慢慢便發覺根本不是痛苦選擇了她, 而是她選擇了痛苦! 任何事情她也從壞的角度去看, 別人對她好些她便在猜度對方的用意, 假如遇上了不幸的事情便相信是別人存心 整 她 她的嘴角永遠向下彎, 陰霾常籠罩在她身上, 甚至你與她相處久些也會覺得世界是灰色的 如你抱有這種態度去面對放榜, 即使你所有科目考取 * 也會不開心, 因為你會說大學招收了那麼多非聯招學生, 害你未能進入理想的學系 ; 又或是說考試官不公平, 讓你中文科不能每份試卷都拿 *! 反之如你抱有積極樂觀的態度, 便更能接納考試的成績, 理智地去面對結果 二 別以放大鏡去看問題 人生不如意事十常八九, 成績不理想的確會令人很傷心, 但這絕不是世界末日! 停止恐慌性的聯想吧, 要學懂客觀地評估實況, 將事實和負面的推想分開 曾聽到學生拿著成績單哭訴說對不起老師, 對不起父母 但讀書真的只是為老師或父母嗎? 你的老師或父母會覺得高考是一切嗎? 你的老師或父母會從此不愛惜你嗎? 無論發生任何事, 愛惜你的人總會站在你身旁, 陪你去渡過艱難的時刻 ; 若然不是, 那麼他們談不上是愛惜你, 你更不應放在心上, 世上總有惜花人的 再者, 成績真的是代表一切嗎? 以我的經驗為例, 投入了工作世界後, 從來沒有人查問我的成績 ( 唯一的例外是我報讀碩士課程時要我呈報大學時的成績, 但也不是公開考試的成績 ) 大家的著眼點在於你是否負責任? 是否有誠信? 是否有效率? 是否能與人合作? 是否樂觀開朗? 是否願意肩擔額外的工作?... 考試成績才不是工作世界裏的重點呢 若你拿著放大鏡去做人, 事事在雞蛋裏挑骨 頭, 你便只看到放大鏡內那小小的世界, 而看不到放大鏡外那廣闊充滿機會的世界 三 相信總會有出路 無論成績如何, 我們要相信前面總會有出路, 總會有希望 我有一位朋友, 他考了三次高考才考入大學, 誰知他因太投入大學的活動而荒廢了學業, 結果未能畢業 面對那麼大的打擊, 我們一眾同學都不知道要對他說些甚麼, 只懂得默默的陪伴著他 那時的他挺冷靜的, 沒有埋怨及咬緊牙關去找工作 現在他的事業頗為成功, 家庭美滿, 我們也替他高興 其實, 升讀全日制的學士課程不是公開考試的唯一出路, 我們還可以選擇副學位課程和其他課程, 甚至投身社會找一份工作發揮所長等等 我曾有多位學生在公開考試中失手, 於是入讀副學士或高級文憑的課程, 最後憑著她們兩年的努力, 以亮麗的成績成功插入本地大學的第三年學位課程 只要我們相信考試失敗不是絕路, 前面總會有出路的話, 我們便會有希望和勇氣去面對它 四 給自己時間 接納失敗是需要學習的, 亦需要時間的 記得我的好友失戀時, 常常拿出兩人的合照哭過不停 那時, 我強迫她將全部合照包裹起來, 放入床下最遠的角落, 再將雜物堆滿床下的每一吋空間, 這才令她慢慢恢復過來 我們可以根據打擊的程度及自己的能力去訂定一個傷心的期限, 可以是兩天, 也可以是一星期, 期限到了便要收拾心情, 不再為這失敗再傷心 就好像我們對這失敗行了告別禮, 之後將它埋葬在腦袋中最深入的抽屜裏, 不再拿它出來影響自己 偶然想起了它便告訴自己, 一切已告一段落, 不要再從那深入的抽屜裏找它出來 時間是最好的療傷聖藥, 要相信自己是一定可以恢復過來的 五 主動尋求協助 假如以上四招都不奏效, 那麼我們便要主動找別人幫助 根據我的經驗, 同輩可以給我們不錯的安慰, 但如想解惑, 成人如父母及師長或專業人士會較為適合, 因為他們擁有的經驗始終是多一點 任何事情最少也有三個解決的方法! 這是身心語言程式學中令我印象最深刻的句子 其實我們可以天馬行空的去想出不同的方法去面對考試失敗, 未必一定要合乎邏輯或合乎情理, 但付諸實行的當然要是最妥當 最穩健 最合情理的一個 面對困境, 選擇做傻事的人只會想到 自殺, 並以為它是唯一解決問題的方法 只要你記著這句, 那麼我們一定可以安然渡過這個人生的挑戰 17

20 輔導篇18 Facing Adversities FUNG CHENG Wai-yee Committee Member of the Hong Kong Association of Careers Masters & Guidance Masters Not everyone can have the public examination results they desire. I would like to recommend five ways to deal with adversities. 1. Be positive and optimistic. As the examination results cannot be changed, you can only change your way of thinking - you may choose to keep on complaining and grumbling, or deal with the situation with a positive attitude. 2. Do not magnify your problems. Learn how to assess the real situation objectively and do not mix the reality with your negative imagination. People who really love you will always stand by you no matter what your examination results are. In the job market, employers focus on your integrity, sense of responsibility, efficiency, positive attitude and willingness to pay extra efforts, but not your examination results. 3. Believe alternatives are always out there. Pursuing full-time undergraduate programmes is not the only progression path. Students may choose subdegree programmes, other programmes or seeking employment. 4. Allow yourself some time to recover. Learn to accept of failure and allow some time to do so. You should bid farewell to your failure, bury it in the deepest drawer inside your brain and never take it out again. 5. Seek assistance proactively. Consider seeking assistance from your parents, teachers or professionals because they have more life experiences than you or your peers.

21 迎戰文憑試放榜 邱信儀及梁可思香港輔導教師協會義務顧問及副主席 Student Guidance 對於應屆香港中學文憑試考生而言, 經過一連數月的公開考試,7 月會是他們的大日子 因為同學除了要面對文憑試放榜外, 不少大專院校亦會在放榜之前或之後通知已遞交申請報讀課程的同學結果 結果通常是取錄 有條件性取錄或不獲取錄 同學亦於放榜數天內便要決定是否接受院校給予之取錄, 接着便是要繳交留位費等手續 還有於 6 7 月期間亦有不同機構或課程招生, 同學亦有可能要忙於繼讀選擇課程及進行不同報讀手續等 因此, 同學要處理公開考試 放榜壓力和情緒, 也要準備接着放榜而來的一連串問題, 如大學聯招改選 無數選擇 不同課程的報名及面試等 越多升學課程的推出, 也即是說同學有更多的升學機會 很多人也說過 機會是留給有準備的人 有充足準備, 相信同學都能作出適切的升學選擇及把握機會 其實, 不同階段是可以有不同的升學準備 一般來說, 如要報讀海外大學, 相信考完文憑試才準備未免太遲了 海外升學的申請及準備, 往往需要一年或以上的時間 以下是一些集中由考完文憑試後分階段的放榜準備建議 小心假設 幾手準備 無論學位課程 副學位課程 毅進文憑 基礎文憑課程或職業訓練課程等都有不同的收生要求 ( 同學可參考本冊子的有關部分 ) 由 5 月中 ( 大部分科目公開考試完畢 ) 至放榜前, 相信是最好時機讓同學可從新檢視一下自己的升學計劃 考完大部分科目, 從考試表現, 同學也可估計一下自己的成績, 再參考不同報導及調查, 如大學聯招中競爭最激烈的科目又或是新增的課程, 看看是否需要重新部署報讀科目的位置, 或繳交聯招改選費用以增減科目 因為在考完試後同學才真真正正掌握到更多具體資料及個人應考表現, 亦有時間再思考自己本身的能力及興趣, 作出更切合自己需要的選擇 曾有一位舊制修讀理科學生表示, 考完中學會考後才發覺自己極度不適合讀理科, 升讀中六時寧願修讀心理學也不想再沾理科 因此, 每有一個經歷, 也都有可能令你重新認識自己的需要, 對自己的計劃再作檢討和改變 還有, 同學也應作不同的成績假設, 作幾手準備, 多搜集自己有興趣繼續進修的範疇, 先定下最希望達至的學業成就, 然後考慮相關的以達至自己的理想 因此, 除大學聯招外, 同學也應嘗試報讀其他不同院校的課程, 以準備面對不同成績的結果 可是, 同學也不應全部大包圍式的甚麼也報讀 這樣除了大花報名費及留位費外, 亦要準備一連串的入學面試, 可能會費時失事 為不同的面試形式作準備 由新學年 9 月初開始, 部分大學安排先面見學校推薦的同學, 希望多接觸新制的學生, 以評估他們能力 了解他們需要又或讓同學多了解其各課程, 從而令同學 擇優而讀, 無論推出新措施的原因是甚樣, 部分應屆中學文憑試的同學或已初嘗大學面試的機會 可是真正的全面進行面試程序或面試旺季, 應會是 5 月至放榜後 面試形式可以有多種, 包括個人或小組 面試內容可以是 職業 / 學習性向測試 能力傾向測驗 時事討論 處境問題 學科知識測驗又或是即場表演等 篩選學生的準則除公開試成績外, 未放榜前的面試或會跟據考生校內成績 活動 獎項及科目排序等來考慮 因此, 同學如有面試的機會, 便應好好準備, 搜集充足資料, 如該學科的學習內容 學系的教授及其著作等 可以的話, 不妨邀請老師 長輩甚至同學為自己作模擬面試, 多作練習, 並同時邀請他們給予自己意見, 務求可以在面試時給予面試人員深刻印象以增加取錄機會 準備學生學習概覽 新學制下, 高中同學每人也會有 學生學習概覽 (SLP) SLP 應記錄校內高中三年的成績 活動 獎項及自述文章, 是一份公開試成績外的附加資料, 亦是一份可以協助你檢視自己能力 興趣及準備面試的文件 因為, 從你參予的活動及比賽範疇, 可能令你瞭解到自己的强項 這些活動及比賽成就便成為你一些舉證 還有, 在一些學科面試, 面試人員可能需要同學帶同自己的 SLP 及作品等作為取錄的參考 因此, 同學應在放榜前整理一下自己的 SLP 以備不時之需 放榜日之後 調整情緒的同時亦要為放榜工作進行實際準備 同學除了要緊記查閱電郵留意自己的聯招指定調選時間外, 也要為不同出路作打算 一般而言, 同學都會在較早前預先報讀部分專上課程以作保險之用, 惟在放榜後同學需作最後決定或部分院校有機會再安排面試 當然, 對於沒有預先報讀專上課程的同學來說, 也有可能因放榜後成績不理想而需作最後衝線申請報讀 因此, 同學都應準備一個資料文件夾以為申請或面試作不同需要之用 到了放榜日, 除了回校收取成績外, 無論成績如何, 同學往後的一星期都可能很忙碌, 因為同學或需重新調動大學聯招的選科次序或報讀其他課程 對於已申請 內地部分高校免試招收香港學生計劃 或其他內地及台灣以至海外的學生, 一定要留意有關取錄日期及註冊手續 過去曾試過有學生錯過有關日期或未能完成註冊手續而學位落空 另外, 一些較早前已報名的課程或會安排面試 繳交留位費以確認學位 所以於放榜日前, 除應準備可能需要的文件 ( 如校內成績表副本 推薦信 個人學習概覽 相片 ) 等外, 亦應預備尋找升學輔導老師 班主任或前輩等升學意見以準備應付一連串的事項 準備 : - 中六同學由於已有 學生學習概覽 (SLP), 故可打印有關資料以便院校作參考 因當中已包括校內成績及 其他學習經歷 (OLE) 如同學有參與大學聯招申請, 亦可把有關 比賽 / 活動的經驗及成就 (OEA) 資料部分打印 另外, 同學如有合適的作品集, 也可整理好以作申請設計類別的課程之用 當然, 同學也可一併附上學校提供的推薦書 其他一般的準備包括現金 ( 作報名費 留位費及交通費之用 ) 身分證副本 地圖和手提電話 ( 已充電 ) 19

You have to be aware of these warning signs in order to manage your stress as early as possible. The more warning signs you have, the greater your need for professional help and counselling is.

24 輔導篇22 Preparing Yourself for the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Results Flora YAU and Louisa LEUNG Honorary Consultant and Vice-Chairperson of the Hong Kong Association of Careers Masters and Guidance Masters July is an important date for HKDSE candidates. Postsecondary institutions will inform secondary school graduates who have applied their programmes about results of offers before or after the announcement of HKDSE results. Results may be offer, conditional offer or no offer. Graduates are required to decide whether accept the offer and pay the deposit fee within a few days. There will be programmes from other organisations offered for admission in June and July. Graduates may also be busy in programme selection and application. Therefore, graduates have not only to prepare for public examination and managing stress, but also requiring attention after the release of examination results, such as modifying the Joint University Programmes Admissions System (JUPAS) programme choices, considering various progression pathways, applying for various programmes and attending interviews. As the saying goes, Opportunity is open to those well prepared for it. You can make an appropriate decision with good preparation. The following are some recommendations on the preparations you should make before and after the announcement of the HKDSE results. 1. It should be noted that there are different entrance requirements for degree, sub-degree, Diploma Yi Jin, Diploma of Foundation Studies and vocational training programmes (for details please refer to the relevant section in this booklet). You should review your plan for further studies with reference to your performance in the public examination, your ability and interest. You are advised to consider carefully various study pathways. Apart from JUPAS programmes, you may contemplate other postsecondary programmes if your results are less than satisfactory. 2. It is common for institutions to invite an applicant to attend an interview. There are different types of interview including group and individual interview. An interview may take various forms, such as vocational/academic aptitude test, aptitude test, discussion of current affairs, situational questioning, subject knowledge test, live performance, etc. Selection will be based not only on the applicants public examination results, but also on their academic results in secondary school, extracurricular activities and awards, etc. You should conduct good research beforehand and be wellprepared if you are invited to attend an interview. If possible, you may practise your interview techniques through a mock interview with your teacher, parents or classmates. 3. Under the New Academic Structure, senior secondary students should have a formative record of their development known as Student Learning Profile (SLP). SLP includes academic performance and other learning experiences, performance or awards gained outside school, together with a personal reflective account on one s growth and career aspiration. SLP will be a very useful record to review your ability and interest, as well as for submission to institutions and potential employers. In view of this, you should update your SLP before the publication of the examination results. 4. After the announcement of the public examination results, you may make a final decision on programme choices. For those applied for Scheme for Admission of Hong Kong Students to Mainland Higher Education Institutions studying in Mainland or other places, admission procedures and dates of announcement of admission should be noted. Meanwhile, you may also be invited to attend interviews. In case you have not applied for postsecondary programmes, you may need to reconsider these programmes if your examination results are less than satisfactory. As such, you should prepare some copies of your transcripts, school reference letter, SLP, personal photos, etc. for the purpose of programme application or interview. If necessary, you may seek the advice of your careers teacher, class teacher or fellow schoolmates. Documents to be prepared: Secondary 6 students should simply make copies of their SLP for institutions reference. Applicants of JUPAS programmes may prepare copies of the part on Other Experiences and Achievements in Competitions/ Activities. For those who wish to apply for design programmes, they may prepare a portfolio of their design works. Students may also submit the school reference letter, if available. Other items that you should prepare include sufficient cash (for payment of application fee, enrolment deposit and transportation fee), copies of identity card, street map and mobile phone (fully charged).
