22 Abstract Based on a case study of ERP implementation and the transformation of organizational culture in company Ca large state-owned enterprisethis paper explores the mechanisms as well as the essential conditions of organizational culture transformation due to the application of ERP. By comparing the employees interpretations of daily practices in the organization before and after the implementation of ERPthe paper finds that the informatization in company C has transformed its organizational culture from relation-based culture to rule-based professional culture. The mechanisms of this transformation include technology imperativethe management discipline and the employees self-adaptation. The author argues that whether technology could change organizational culture depends on the extent of legitimacy the technology has acquired in the organization. The paper also discusses the implication of this study for the second-stage reform of state-owned enterprises. By choosing women s weightliftinga sports item with evident masculinitythis paper illustrates how the power of the state combined with the authority of families makes use of the individual bodyespecially the bodies of women who are in marginal situation. The authors argue that the state s expropriation of individual body is largely driven by its desire for modernity. During the processthe state realizes its power practice through familiesand the individual athletes themselves also participate in the construction of the power system. The individual athletes involved are not only victims but also the builders of the power system.
