Using 2D to Simulate 3D Effects for Creation of an Aboriginal Mythology Cellular-Phone Game Chien-An E Shih-Kai Chung Graduate School of Multimedia and Animation Arts National Taiwan University of Arts Abstract The recent popular mobile phones offer a convenient mobile game platform which is suitable for all kinds of game players. Combining the mobile phone and game will improve the visibility of the games and widen the game market. The mobile phone is various in style. JAVA has the characteristic of cross-platform. Its MIDP specification can solve the compatibility problem of various types of mobile phones. However, it suffers the problem of low efficiency. The game we designed tries to optimize code performance to improve executive speed. It was designed as a third-person shooting game. For better performance, the display uses 2D to simulate 3D visual effect. This game popularizes aboriginal culture with the subject matter of Taiwan Ataya tribe mythology, and make players learn more about aboriginal mythologies.
