First International Baikal Symposium «Traditional Medicine and rehabilitation» We sincerely welcome you to visit the beautiful Irkutsk, Russia participate in the upcoming First International Baikal Symposium on Traditional Medicine to be held on May 24 & 25, The conference is jointly sponsored by the World Federation of Acupuncture-Moxibustion Societies (WFAS) and the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences (CACMS) and hosted by Irkutsk State Medical Academy of Continuing Education (Russia). The First International Baikal Symposium «Traditional Medicine and rehabilitation»is supported by the Government of Irkutsk Region and the Ministry of Health of Irkutsk Region. Established in 1955, China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences is a comprehensive research institution in China, covering the areas of scientific research, healthcare, and medical education. CACMS is a well-established institution with strong resources for the advanced research in both Western and Chinese medicines. CACMS has collaborated with the World Health Organization (WHO) in establishing three collaborating Centers for traditional medicine. WFAS, founded in 1987, is an international, non-governmental acupuncture organization that establishes formal relations with the WHO and is A Liaison to the Technical Committee of Chinese Medicine of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). Current membership for WFAS includes 173 member organizations in 53 countries and regions throughout the world.

2 Irkutsk State Medical Academy of Continuing Education - one of the largest educational, scientific and health center, the only establishment system of continuing professional education in Eastern Siberia and the Far East. Topic: Topical issues of acupuncture and traditional medicine in the field of prevention, treatment and medical rehabilitation of patients with different diseases. The WFAS International Symposium is the most high-level, scientific symposium on acupuncture and traditional medicine. International Baikal Symposium on Traditional Medicine is the first academic meeting held in Russia in the past 28 years. The symposium will focus on WHO Traditional Medicine Strategy and WHA67.18 of the World Health Assembly resolution for promoting clinical application, legislation, standards, education, training and research and other aspects of acupuncture and all forms of traditional medicine. Irkutsk is the second largest city in Eastern Siberia. Not only rich in natural resources and pleasant sceneries, the city is immersed with classical culture it has the best preserved and largest number of ancient architectures in Siberia. Natural gifts and cultural heritage have made Irkutsk a perfect place for refreshment, rehabilitation and prevention and treatment of disease. Dozens of health centers have gathered here where various forms of traditional medicine exchange, integrate and improve by learning from each other. This is a great timing for the First International Baikal Symposium on Traditional Medicine. We believe that every participant of this symposium will be participating with joy and satisfaction. Abstract topics should be related to the symposium theme Topical issues of acupuncture and traditional medicine in the field of prevention, treatment and medical rehabilitation of patients with different diseases. The abstract languages are English and Chinese (Mandarin).
