60 GCC Response Measures to the Middle East Turmoil and Its Influences LI Xi Li Xi, Lecturer, Arabic Department, School of Oriental Languages and Cultures, Xi an International Studies University Abstract In the revolution of the Middle East 2010, the GCC countries had different degrees of impact and taken measures to deal with it. The GCC countries rose its forces, turned to be the regional mechanisms from the sub-regional mechanisms, and became an important platform for the Sunni monarchy countries to strengthen cooperation, and coping area changes in the Middle East area. The GCC countries explore the transformation during the revolution in political reform, and accelerate the modernization process. The GCC instead of Egypt, and strengthen the region existence, and consolidate the regime. The GCC Member States also take economic reform, speed up the construction of economic integration and free trade zone, but reform cannot accomplish at one stroke. The oil market is still the decisive factor which influenced economic growth rate of The GCC Member States. In spite of the success of the revolution, the GCC countries will play a powerful and practical role in the politics of Arab countries, and take on the new responsibilities in the reconstruction of the revolutionary countries.
