I must thank the College for providing me with such a golden opportunity to interview our three successful alumni, Mrs Fung, Mr Chung and Mr Cheng. All of them are really friendly and amicable. The interview was wonderful and inspiring. Mrs Fung s advice to teenagers always bubbles in my mind and reminds me of the proper way to study. She shared with us that hard work is the key to further studies and that good communication skills, which are equally important, can be learnt from participation in extracurricular activities. I cannot agree more. When we showed them the past school magazine, they were extremely excited. They searched themselves in the class photos. All of them enjoyed their school life in Methodist College which meant a lot to them. This encourages me to cherish more my own school life. The bond between alumni and the mother school is valuable and I firmly believe that our fellow students can benefit from the Mentoring Programme because they can learn different aspects of life from the alumni. I am proud of Methodist College and I hope that the fine traditions of the College can pass on to future generations of students. Ng Lok Yan, 4G To be frank, when I was informed that I had a chance to interview the three prominent alumni, I was really glad and flabbergasted. During the preparation, I was quite anxious because the interviewees were public figures and important people in society. However, they turned out to be very kind and approachable. I totally agree to their advice to us about how we should study and improve ourselves. The entire interview was stimulating and fulfilling. Through conducting this interview, I have learnt the importance of communication skills and it was indeed a precious experience. I must thank the College for letting me take part in this project. Alsace Yuen, 4W I can use no word but fascinating to describe the interview. The three alumni, as high rank officials, were not giving us a lukewarm reception, but displayed immense enthusiasm which touched me a lot. They were all wearing a smile and readily answered our questions, even the trivial ones. At first, I was a bit nervous in meeting them. However, through the sincere interactions, they made the interview an unforgettable experience to me. My feeling after all is that students from Methodist College have a strong bond. Even though we studied or study at Methodist College in different years, once we meet one another, we feel like being members of the same family. Jola Mok, 6A
It was a great evening. A total of 30 old friends, including two deeply respected teachers Miss Tao and Jim Sir, turned up at the long awaited reunion dinner on March 5, 2011 at the YMCA, Waterloo Road. Some of us have not seen each other for decades, literally. The gathering was filled with warm chats and laughter, and sweet memories shared too. Some old photos taken at high school on outings, Chinese orchestras, concerts, camping, basketball and volleyball teams and swimming etc were shown, reminding us of our good old days. Through this gathering, we have revived contact with many long lost friends. Apart from our past glories, we also shared our latest thoughts and activities. And it was so nice to know that some alumni are sending their children to Methodist College / School. The last surprise was from Cassius. He had prepared some placards bearing the function name of 2011 reunion for us to take a memorable group photo. The gathering was so heart-warming. It is hoped that we don't need to wait for another 10 years for the next one. Chan Kit Wan, Valentina
