3 前言 各位六年級同學升上六年級後, 大家將面對升中的挑戰, 我們希望每一位同學都能升讀理想的中學 根據現在的派位機制, 同學們如能在申請自行分配學位時小心挑選, 再加上充足的準備去應付面詴, 成功入讀心儀的中學機會是很大的 同學可利用這小冊子來裝備自己, 應付不同的挑戰 我們在小冊子也介紹了升中的派位機制, 本學年的升中大事一覽表, 個人的文件夾和服務紀錄, 這些都是為了讓大家能更好的準備升中的各樣事項, 也可以給各位家長參考 同學如對升中有任何問題, 可隨時聯絡班主任 科任老師 學生輔導主任或升中負責主任查詢, 校方會舉辦中一自行分配學位座談會 升中統一選校座談會及升中適應座談會向家長詳細講解升中事宜, 各位家長也可在小六家長日與班主任商討子女的學習狀況 只要家校合作, 與孩子一起攜手踏上升中路, 我們的孩子一定有美好的前途 工作小組在準備資料時, 參考和綜合了各位老師及友校的資料, 輯錄之中, 會有錯漏之處, 希望各位同學及家長指正, 作為未來修訂之用 3

5 中學學位分配辨法 申請自行分配學位 直接向屬意的中學申請 不受學校網限制, 可向兩 所中學申請 各中學接受小六學生申 請的日期已指定於每年 十二月至次年一月期間 收生準則由學校自訂及 公布 希望入讀公立學校 參加中學學位分配辦法 <<<< 資格 : 尌讀於參加中學學位分配辦法的小學 為本港居民 從未獲派中一學位 申請自行分配學位 不申請自行分配學位 提供學校網 派位 組別 家長選校意 填寫選校表格 <<<<< 甲部 : 每位學生可選 三間不受校網限制的 願及隨機編號獲分配學位 >>>> 統一派位 學校 乙部 : 參照 中學一覽 成功獲得自行分配 表 填寫 30 間學校 學位, 則不會在統一派位階段另行獲分配學位 公佈派位結果每年七月 在五月初經尌讀小學遞交教育局 無論是否已申請自行分 配學位, 均頇填寫及遞 辦理註冊手續 每年七月中 交選校表格 5

6 中學學位分配辦法 中學學位分配辦法分為 自行分配學位 和 統一派位 兩個階段 自行分配學位階段各中學可自行訂定接受小六學生申請的日期, 惟該日期應在每年一月期間 ( 直資學校除外 ) 小六學生申請自行分配學位時, 應注意下列事項 : 各參加派位的中學, 可預留不多於 30% 的中一學位, 自行取錄學生 申請的中學不受地區限制, 學生可向兩所中學申請, 家長只頇向教統局填報選校次序 有關接受自行分配學位申請的中學及其申請日期, 可參閱 申請自行分配中一學位手冊 ( 於十二月派發 ) 中學可按本身的特色和辦學理念自行取錄適合的學生, 但必頇公布有關收生準則及比重 學校可設面詴, 但不可設筆詴 獲得取錄的學生, 在統一派位時不會再獲分配另一學位 但如未獲取錄, 則會經統一派位程序獲派中一學位 自行分配學位的申請結果將在每年七月中與統一派位結果一併公布, 家長毋頇向學校查詢 統一派位階段 統一派位是以學校網 派位組別 家長選校意願和隨機編號作為分配準則, 有關要點簡述如下 : 學校網 本校校網為九龍第三網若學生因遷徙或住於他區而希望轉學校網, 可申請跨網派位 派位組別 學生的派位組別是根據他們經調整後的校內成績劃分, 有關處理如下 : 首先將學生在小五第三次考詴及小六第一及二次考詴的校內成績標準化 計算科目包括中文 英文 數學 常識 視藝 音樂 再用學校 2010 年及 2012 年 中一入學前香港學科測驗 的抽樣成績為調整工具調整校內成績 然後將同一網內各校學生經調整後的積分按高低排列次序 6

7 最後將他們平均劃分為三個派位組別, 每個組別佔網內學生的三分之一 家長選校意願 甲部 : 每位學生可選三間不受校網限制的學校 中學在統一派位的學位中撥出 10% 供電腦派位 乙部 : 教育局會在每年四月下旬發給每一小六學生所屬學校網的 中學一覽表 家長可在該一覽表內選出最多三十間中學, 並按選校意願順序填寫在選校表格內 學位的分配會根據家長選校的先後次序按派位程序進行 隨機編號 電腦於執行派位前會分配給每個學生一個隨機編號, 用於決定同一組別學生獲分配學校的先後次序 ( 整個過程中只有一個隨機編號 ) 派位程序 學位分配是會先處理甲部不受學校網限制的學校選擇, 再處理乙部的選擇 電腦首先按照第一派位組別學生的選校意願次序派位, 同組的學生均獲分配學位後, 電腦再按同一程序處理第二組別的學生, 最後分配第三派位組別的學生 如果某一所中學的學位求過於供, 則電腦會優先分配學位予同一組別內 隨機編號 較小的學生 在審視過乙部所有學校選擇後, 如學生仍未獲分配學位, 電腦會為他們分配一個網內尚餘的學位 直屬及聯繫學校制度 本校聯繫中學包括 : 伊利沙伯中學 何文田官立中學 賽馬會官立中學直屬及聯繫中學經扣除重讀生及校方自行分配學位後, 可為其連繫小學分別保留最多百分之八十五及百分之二十五的學額 第一及第二派位組別的學生, 如在乙部以連繫中學為首選學校, 便有資格獲派保留學位 如學校選擇全收三個組別, 則第三組別的學生亦符合資格 若符合資格的人數多於保留的學額, 電腦便會按學生的派位組別及隨機編號的先後, 依次序分配學位直至保留的學位額滿為止 查詢如欲作進一步查詢, 可與教育局學位分配組聯絡 地址 : 香港灣仔皇后大道東 269 號呂祺教育服務中心五字樓 7

14 Handful Hints For An Interview Introduction An official face-to-face interview provides both you and your future secondary school with a valuable opportunity to have better mutual recognition and understanding to each other. In order to make yourself more outstanding than the other students, one must take the following aspects into careful consideration before having an interview and take actions accordingly: 1. Image and Appearance 2. Communication Techniques 3. Body Language 4. Flexibility and Adaptability to Changes and Challenges To build up your confidence and increase your ability to get hold of your future destiny yourselves, you, as students, are advised to study this booklet for help. The issues discussed and shared inside are believed to be useful and beneficial to your preparation for school interview in the future. A. Interview Techniques-- Four Stages of Interview Students should bear in their minds the reminders for the four stages of interview: 1. Before the interview 2. On the date of the interview 3. During the interview 4. After the interview 1. Before the interview Search for background information about the school that you are going to have the interview via the following channels: a. School published articles (school magazines, Parent-Teacher Association Newsletters) b. Visiting School Open Day c. Newspapers and Magazines d. Internets regarding the historical background, admission requirements of the school etc 14

15 e. Recommendations from friends and relatives Prepare all personal and academic documents and file them in order in a presentable document file for the secondary school's checking 1. School Reports 2. School recommendation letter 3. Any relevant certificates, prizes, awards and medals. 4. Personal contributions : Chinese and English compositions, artwork, I.T. presentation etc. 5. Recent photos of yours with your names at the back 6. Activity-related photos 7. Letter of inviting for an interview from the school 8. Copy of application form 9. School magazines and cuttings regarding school activities 10. Others Get in touch with current issues and other hot topics that the school may ask you. Think of certain questions that you are possibly be asked and prepare how to answer them, especially in English. Sleep early before the day of the interview. A nice sleep before the interview helps to make your mind clearly and build up confidence more. Keep your hair tidy and neat. Don't dye your hair. Remember to get ready with you a proper dressing. Wearing a school uniform is a good idea. A proper clothing not only make you feel comfortable but also give a remarkable impression from the interviewers, especially the Principal, at their first sight. Be natural as what a student should be like. 2. On the day of the interview Keep the date and time of the interview in mind and be punctual! 15

16 Arrive a bit earlier in order to get used to the environment and refresh your mind. Make sure you go for the interview together with your own document file and others that you think may help in the interview, e.g. your artwork. Keep smiling and be confident. Knock the door first. Go inside the room when you are told to do so. Say "Good morning" or "Good afternoon" to the teachers when you enter the interview room. Don't sit down immediately unless you are asked to do so. Sit upright with your hands on your lap. Say "Thank you" to the teachers if you are given any interviewing materials. Remember to receive the materials with two hands. Be natural and confident and waiting for the interview to start. 3. During the interview Be polite and sincere. Don't get nervous. Speak up! Keep your voice clear when communicating with the interviewers. Listen to each question carefully and attentively. Don't interrupt the interviewers unless the question has been asked. Don't answer each question with one word only, e.g. yes/no, red/blue, rice/meat etc. Don't keep silence all the time. Try to say more using certain sentences to express your own opinion or comment on certain issues. 16

17 Answer questions in sentence-form and give as much information as you can. However, don't pretend to say more on the topics that you are not known or you may trap yourself. Remember not to recite all the things or answer mechanically, just like a robot. Try to memorize them well and say them out naturally or in your own words. If you can't hear the questions clearly, you may ask for repeating the questions by using "Pardon me, Sir." "Excuse me! Could you repeat the question again?" "Sorry, I can't catch your point. Can you ask the question in another way?" Very often look at the interviewers while answering questions. Keep eye contact with the interviewers as this shows whether you are attentive or not. Keep smiling, sometimes nodding your head slightly to show that you understand clearly what you have been asked. Try not to look at the floor or keep your head down when speaking. Any unnecessary body movements should be avoided, e.g. scratching your hair, playing with your fingers. 4. After the interview After the interview, the interviewer may want to see whether you have any questions to raise about the interview or the school. Then you can ask something that your are interested in, for example, "I want to have better English. What can your school do to help improve my English?" If you have no questions or you have finished asking questions, you can express your gratitude by saying " Thank you for giving me an opportunity to interview and I find myself I have learnt a lot at this interview." But before you leave the interview room, remember to pack up all your belongings Say "Good bye" to the teachers when you leave the interview room. B. Picture Descriptions and Current Affairs Besides the common interviewing questions which we will talk about later, parents and students should also prepare the following two issues: 17

18 * Picture Description Students should be trained to use ENGLISH to talk about/ describe various pictures given by the secondary schools. Confidence and patience should be found on students' side while describing pictures and/or answering related questions. * Current Affairs Students should be alert of current affairs. They may be asked to express their opinions or give any comments on certain issues. Therefore they should browse through daily newspapers including South China Morning Post and Hong Kong Standard in order to equip themselves with certain knowledge or ideas for the interview. C. Interview Formats The interview may be presented in the form of two different settings: 1. One-to-One setting The interview may start in a situation in which the interviewer (e.g. the secondary school principal or/and the teacher(s)) is/are interviewing an interviewee (e.g. a primary school student, i.e. you). The interviewer is asking questions to the interviewee while the interviewee is answering back. Try to say more about the topic if you know it best but don't say something you are not so sure about the topic. The interviewer The interviewee 2. One to group setting The interview may start in a situation in which the interviewer / interviewers (e.g. the secondary school principal or/and the teachers) is/are interviewing a group of interviewees (e.g. students from different primary schools. ) 18

19 The interviewer may be more than one, for example, Interviewer A & Interviewer B. They may raise some questions or issues for interviewees to discuss among themselves. The interviewers may raise questions and observe not only interviewees' responses/answers but also their attitudes/manners in dealing with group discussion such as showing your agreement or disagreement to other interviewees' suggestions/comments/opinions in a polite way. One of the interviewers may not join in the discussion of the topics with the interviewees. Say, for example, Interviewer A may be responsible for interviewing the interviewees while Interviewer B may sit away from Interviewer A and the group of interviewees and his work is to observe and evaluate interviewees' responses in terms of their manners/attitudes in giving answers. D. Common questions to be asked by the interviewers i) Self-introduction 19

Share your own ideas of helping solve the pollution. * Expressions - Pollution in Hong Kong is getting worse and the government should take actions to stop pollution from getting worse and worse. - Hong Kong people should learn to keep Hong Kong a cleaner city by not throwing rubbish everywhere. - They should throw rubbish into rubbish bins and pack the rubbish in plastic bags before putting them into rubbish collection centre. - They should use fewer plastic bags and they should know some of their things can be reusable. - They can put their old clothes into the collection centre for people in need. - However the air pollution in Hong Kong is the worst. It is caused by pollutants produced by the Hong Kong Power Plants and the polluted air produced by the factories in the Zhuhai Industrial Zone. - Power plants should consider to use other natural sources to produce electricity, like using wind power. - Also Hong Kong government should work with the Chinese government to set up measures or rules to cut down the amount of polluted air created from the factories. - The establishment of new residential buildings has caused trouble to the wind ventilation of particular districts. - The belts of newly built residential buildings help trap the hot air from moving away and cause 45
