The Centre provides diversified social services such as youth programs, seniors wellness, community education, career counseling, food bank, cultural and recreational activities. The Centre also partners with various local organizations to provide comprehensive services that meet the needs of residents in the community and surrounding neighborhoods. She is also a survivor from bipolar disorder. She has an understanding of the mental health issues faced by immigrants. She took a course at the continuing studies department of Harvard University on mood disorders. She also took a creative writing course from Yale University. As a professional, she has conducted research on mental health as well as a speaker and a trainer in universities, international conferences and NGOs in Hong Kong, Macau, Canada and US. She is the author of Free to Fly: A Story of Manic Depression (Inclusion Press, Toronto) and is a writer of articles on recovery published in Hong Kong and US academic journals. 28

Ms. Caroline Kwok was an ESL teacher at the Toronto District School Board, teaching new immigrant high school students prior to her present post at Across Boundaries, an ethno racial mental health centre for immigrant survivors of mental illnesses in Toronto. She is also a survivor from bipolar disorder. She has an understanding of the mental health issues faced by immigrants. She took a course at the continuing studies department of Harvard University on mood disorders. She also took a creative writing course from Yale University. As a professional, she has conducted research on mental health as well as a speaker and a trainer in universities, international conferences and NGOs in Hong Kong, Macau, Canada and US.
