An Empirical Study on the Employment Competition of Graduates Abstract: Based on a national scale survey data conducted in 2003, this paper has analyzed econometrically and statistically the competition characteristics of employments of graduate from the sights of employment results and initial salary, and tried finding the key factors which have significant impacts on employments and initial salaries. There are a few of findings: first, the personal performance is the main factors on both employment and initial salary; second, the cost of graduate s job hunting has not notable affects on whether a graduate can find a job, but it can enhance the level of initial salary; third, the employment information provided by higher education institutions can help remarkably both graduates employments and salaries.
