Multi-reading Method literary turn in historical studies : contextualist perspective that seeks out points of thematic reference as they are related to the record of important events, the observation of social and economic change, and the evaluation of personalities. General finding: description of social change mainly recorded in terms of educational expansion and (moral) development of the Christian community. Mobility close relation to education and literacy (abecidinean literacy)
Why Mobility Frequent relocation and moving around of the attendant to the sick and the schoolmasters. Such was not a dictate from the Church Council to deal with a chronic shortage of labour & alleviate personal tensions and animosities between some members of the Dutch community. Upward or horizontal mobility.
GIS contribution 1) discern patterns where the same village names surface, i.e. visible connection between two or more villages with rotating personnel. The ommeganck (quarterly visit by the clergy to the villages) elucidates the spatial demarcation 2) Temporal distance in correspondence between Formosa, Batavia and the patria. Furthering letter post history and its relation to literacy practices. 3) Information about the Dutch community and the daily activities of its actors seen from a grassroot level. Interchangeability suggests a number of hypotheses regarding status and role of Tayouan Factory in the VOC.

Methods Three categories of Proper Noun (PN) recognition: rulebased, corpus-based, machine-learning This project proposes a method based on the notion of word-clip method, making algorithm more efficient. Apply relationships between PN and the whole phrase Algorhytm uses a set of initial PNs + a set of training documents to generate word-clips. These word-clips are then used to identify new PNs for the next training cycle. This process is iterated to generate candidate PNs.
研究方法 主要的方法是使用詞夾子演算法來解決專有名詞辨識的處理, 詞夾子是使用 前文 詞首 詞尾 後文 的組合 主要概念是利用文章寫作上的一些特定習性與字辭之間的耦合關係, 來找出專有名詞 先給予樣本詞, 然後找出和樣本詞相關的詞夾子, 並利用這些詞夾子找出與樣本詞類似的候選詞出來, 之後以迭代方式不斷的產生詞夾子和候選詞
