16 The Strategy Research of Teaching Chinese as a Second Language Li-Na Fang Department of Chinese, National Kaohsiung Normal University Abstract Every language has a set of lexicon of its own and the system of lexicon is mainly based on the semantics. In order to be good for lexicon learning, people s learning lexicon mainly depends on the system of lexicon and learning foreign language is as the same. Because the meaning of lexicon involves the inner and outer factors of the language; therefore, learning lexicon is not simply a procedure of recitation, but a sequentially understanding and memorizing procedure. TCSL belongs to the Second Language Teaching and it is also a kind of Foreign Language Teaching. Consequently, it is necessary for teachers, from the point of views of psychology, cultural linguistics and internationally cultural interactions, to study the cognitive regulation and learning characteristics of foreign students with different nationalities, mother tongues, learning experiences, and cultural backgrounds when students are learning Chinese; then, teachers can adopt different teaching strategies. This article is according to the speciality of TCSL, and try to present strategies that teachers can adopt when they are proceeding lexicon teaching; lexicon teaching must combine word teaching, grammar teaching, context teaching, culture teaching and so on; as a consequence, it will make the classroom teaching more interactive and interesting, and the quality of teaching will get higher distinguished results.
