AbstractObjectiveTo study the effect and mechanism of Guizhi Fuling Wan in treating chronic heart failure of rats. MethodsSixty SD rats weighting 180 ~ 220 g were divided into six groups by weightthe blank control group model control group Guizhi Fuling Wan in 1. 125 g /kg group Guizhi Fuling Wan in 2. 25 g /kg group Guizhi Fuling Wan in 4. 5 g /kg group positive drug control grouppropranolol hydrochloride. The rats with chronic heart failure model were established using subcutaneous injections of isopropyl adrenaline. They were given relevant medicine for 15 days. The activities of AST ALT CK and LDH were tested and the expression of TGF-β and AngⅡ in the cardiac tissue were tested by immunohistochemical staining. Results Compared with the model control group the activities of ALT were decreased in Guizhi Fuling Wan groupsp < 0. 05 ~ 0. 01 The absorbance of TGF-β in Guizhi Fuling Wan groups was lower than that of the model control group obviouslyp < 0. 05 ~ 0. 01 The absorbance of AngⅡin Guizhi Fuling Wan groups was lower than that of the model control groupp < 0. 05 ~ 0. 01. ConclusionGuizhi Fuling Wan has protective effects on rats with chronic heart failure which perhaps is related to its effect on TGF-β and AngⅡlevels in cardiac tissue.
