8 ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS 83 ADMISSION WITH ADVANCED STANDING 申請豁免學分之條件 The Academy will consider admission with advanced standing for applicants who have satisfactorily completed relevant studies at an appropriate level at the Academy, or a recognised institution elsewhere, or who are in possession of significant professional experience in a relevant arts discipline which in the judgement of the Academy merits exemption from some of the courses within the programmes. The Academy may admit such applicants with advanced standing and grant them credits by exemption for some courses within the programmes, subject to the admission requirements of the respective programmes being met, and to the regulations of the Academy on admission with advanced standing. Credits by exemption are normally granted for not more than half of the total number of credits required for graduation from the programme concerned. To be considered for graduation, students admitted with advanced standing are required to study at the Academy for a minimum period which is equivalent to half of the normal period of study for the programme and to gain by study at the Academy at least half of the total number of credits required for graduation. A student admitted with advanced standing is required to study on a full-time basis unless special approval for otherwise is granted by the Academy.
