義人的路越照越明 The Path of the Righteous Shines Brighter and Brighter. Proverbs 箴言 4:18-19
Proverbs 箴言 4:18-19 但義人的路好像黎明的光, 越照越明, 直到日午 惡人的道好像幽暗, 自己 不知因甚麼跌倒 But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, That shines brighter and brighter until the full day. The way of the wicked is like darkness; They do not know over what they stumble.

8: 6 你們當聽, 因我要說極美的話 ; 我張嘴要論正直的事 7 我的口要發出真理 ; 我的嘴憎惡邪惡 8 我口中的言語都是公義, 並無彎曲乖僻 9 有聰明的, 以為明顯, 得知識的, 以為正直 8.6 Listen, for I will speak noble things; And the opening of my lips will reveal right things. 7 For my mouth will utter truth; And wickedness is an abomination to my lips. 8 All the utterances of my mouth are in righteousness; There is nothing crooked or perverted in them. 9 They are all straightforward to him who understands, And right to those who find knowledge. Five adjectives: 1. Excellent/noble (v.6) 2. Right things (v.6, 9) 3. True (v.7) 4. Righteous (v.8) 5. Plain (v.9)

Knowledge: Knowing what to do Perspective: Knowing why to do it Augustine: Credo ut intelligam I believe in order that I may understand. a) Before humans can know anything, they must believe something. b) Understanding is the reward of faith. c) Therefore, seek not to understand that you may believe, but believe that you many understand.

(2) Heart 心 Trust in the Lord with all your heart (3.5) Watch over your heart with all diligence (4.23) 出埃及記 9:12 耶和華使法老的心剛硬, 不聽 他們, 正如耶和華對摩西所說的 Exodus 9:12 But the Lord hardened Pharaoh s heart and he would not listen to Moses and Aaron, just as the Lord had said to Moses.

But I will harden his heart so that he will not let the people go.

And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.

約翰福音 15:7 你們若常在我裡面, 我的話也 常在你們裡面, 凡你們所願意的, 祈求, 就給你們成就 John 15:7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 約翰福音 15 :9 我愛你們, 正如父愛我一樣 ; 你們要常在我的愛裡 John 15:9 Just as the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you; abide in My love.

(3) The fear of the Lord 敬畏耶和華 (1.7; 9.10)
詩篇 34 11 眾弟子啊, 你們當來聽我的話! 我要將敬 畏耶和華的道教訓你們 12 有何人喜好存活, 愛慕長壽, 得享美福,13 就要禁止舌頭不出惡言, 嘴唇不說詭詐的話 14 要離惡行善, 尋求和睦, 一心追趕 Psalm 34: 11Come, my children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord. 12 Whoever of you loves life and desires to see many good days, 13 keep your tongue from evil and your lips from telling lies.14 Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.
Deuteronomy 申命記 6 2 好叫你和你子子孫孫一生敬畏耶和華 你的神, 謹守他的一切律例誡命, 就是我 所吩咐你的, 使你的日子得以長久 神 5 你要盡心 盡性 盡力愛耶和華 你的 2 so that you, your children and their children after them may fear the Lord your God as long as you live by keeping all his decrees and commands that I give you, and so that you may enjoy long life. 5 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.
箴言 15:33 敬畏耶和華是智慧的訓誨 ; 尊榮 以前, 必有謙卑 Proverbs 15.33 Wisdom s instruction is to fear the Lord, and humility comes before honor. 敬畏耶和華心存謙卑, 就得富有 箴言 22:4 尊榮 生命為賞賜 Proverbs 22:4 Humility is the fear of the Lord; its wages are riches and honor and life.
It is that affectionate reverence by which the child of God bends himself humbly and carefully to his Father s law. His wrath is so bitter, and His love so sweet; that hence springs an earnest desire to please Him, and because of the danger of coming short from his own weakness and temptations a holy watchfulness and fear, that he might not sin against Him. --Charles Bridges
(3) The fear of the Lord 敬畏耶和華 (1.7; 9.10) a. To be in a right relationship to God through saving faith. b. Through the proper state of mind and of the proper relationship. c. Not merely a matter of behavior change, getting into a proper relationship with God is a moral-relational matter. d. Through salvation and openness to His will as it is revealed in the Bible.
3. The fear of the Lord 敬畏耶和華 (1.7; 9.10) a. First you know it; then you understand it; then you believe it with your whole heart; then you do it. b. Commitment: Do it. c. Faithfulness: Willingness to take risk in order to be fruitful. c. Character: The result of four. d. To be like Him : One of the goal of salvation.
挪亚是个义人, 在当时的世代是个完全人 挪亚与神同行 ( 创六 9) Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God. (Gen 6:9) 耶和华问撒但说 : 你曾用心察看我的仆人 约伯没有? 地上再没有人像他完全正直, 敬 畏神, 远离恶事 ( 伯一 8) Then the Lord said to Satan, Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil. (Job 1.8)
所罗门 不效法他父亲大卫诚诚实实 地顺服耶和华他的神 ( 王上十一 4) 'The heart of David was perfect with the Lord his God.' (1 Kings 11.4) 亚撒一生却向耶和华存诚实的心 ( 王上十五 14) Asa's heart was perfect with the Lord all his days. ( 1 Kings 15. 14)
凭借诚实的心所作的事, 也要借着 爱心和喜乐, 心甘情愿地用自己的 全部力量来作

(4) Wisdom Wisdom means exhibiting God s character in the many practi 才 al affairs of life. Seven practical synonyms in 1:2-6: 1. Instruction 訓誨 מ וס ר muwcar 2. Understanding 分辨通達 ב ינ ה biynah 3. Prudence (subtlety) 靈明 ע ר מ ה `ormah 4. Knowledge 知識 ד ע ת da`ath 5. Discretion 謀略 מ ז מ ה mĕzimmah 6. Learning 學問 ל ק ח leqach 7. Counsel 智謀 ת ח ב ל ות tachbulah
Roy Zuck Wisdom means being skillful and successful in one s relationships and responsibilities observing and following the Creator s principles of order in the moral universe.
(4) Wisdom Wisdom means exhibiting God s character in the many practical affairs of life. a. Skill: How to do it. i. To do something with ease and accuracy. ii. By practice and experience. a. Path or way of life (2.20;4.22; 5.6)
Jim Elliot He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose. God always gives His best to those who leave the choice with him. I many no longer depend on pleasant impulses to bring me before the Lord. I must rather response to principles I know to be right, whether I feel them to be enjoyable or not.
Motivation: Only love impels action. We become better because we acquire better loves. We don t become what we know.
