咏 1. Music Competition on June 2nd. We still need more volunteer teachers on that day. And we also need 10 volunteer high school students. 2. We will elect seven new board members for next year. 3. The honor recital on 3/31 was very successful. The audience were very much enjoy the concert even it end up very late. Thanks for Yang, Su-hui's hard work. The following day's student recital was very good too. Almost all the students gave their best performance. Whole evening was going very smoothly. 4. Annual party will be on April 28th at California Buffet. Welcome all the members join the event. 5. For May 20th students recital. We need limit three students for each teacher, because we'd like to give more opportunity's to many other teachers. If any of your student's piece is exceed more then 8 minutes. Delaware St. San Mateo CA, 94401 Program Chairman Dances (John Adams) Concerto for Orchestra (Bartok) Violin Concerto No.1 (Shostakovich) Soloist: Zenas Hsu Zenas Hsu was born in San Jose, California, in 1991. He is a violin student of Wei He and Camilla Wicks at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. As a soloist and chamber musician, Zenas has performed extensively and has participated in several national and international competitions as well as master classes with prominent musicians, such as Pamela Frank, Kyoko Takezawa, Ian Swensen, Axel Strauss, Jeremy Menuhin, and the Miami String Quartet. Most recently, he was the youngest musician chosen to attend the New York String Orchestra Seminar to perform at the Carnegie Hall in New York City in December, 2006. Zenas will study violin with Ida Kavafian at the prestigious Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia in the fall of 2007. Zenas plays a 1760 Carlo Ferdinando Landolfi violin and a François Jude Gaulard bow, both are on generous loan by the Chi-Mei Culture Foundation.
