No. 6-4 National Elite A Comparison of Examinations for Land Registration Agent and Real Estate Agent between Taiwan and the Mainland China Rong-yang Huang Abstract This article compares examinations for Land Registration Agent and Real Estate Agent between Taiwan and the Mainland China with the perspective of human resource competition. From a comprehensive point of view, the paper explores different empirical experiences to their forms, qualifications and subjects of such examinations across the Taiwan Straits. It uses documentary framework to analysis current systems and their practice in both sides, then interviews some real estate practitioners or relevant workers to verify what were found in research. The paper concludes that both sides have their strengths could be imitated either in theory or in practice. Some pragmatic examination measures of China, for example, to introduce multiple choice questions instead of essay questions in the test or a rolling score management model, might probably be a good reference for Taiwanese examination system reform.
