HORIBA (China) Trading Co., Ltd., Beijing 100080, China;) ABSTRACT: Objective To ensure the effectiveness of homogenization and find an effective method to monitor milk particles before and after homogenization. Methods The milk homogenization process was monitored by using the HORIBA LA-950 laser particle-size analyzer. Results The distribution charts of particle size were obtained by laser measuring, which clearly indicated that the distribution of milk particles after homogenization was obviously less than that before homogenization. Conclusion In milk homogenization process, the application of laser to measure particle sizes was proved to be a quick and effective method to realize real-time monitoring of particle size distribution.
