Training School provides discipline training for the youth 消 防 訓 練 學 校 消 防 訓 練 學 校 為 新 聘 人 員 提 供 基 本 和 專 門 的 滅 火 與 救 援 訓 練 消 防 行 動 學 員 會 接 受 26 週 的 基 本 訓 練 Fire Services Training School The school provides basic and specialised fire-fighting and rescue training to recruits. Operational fire recruits will undergo 26 weeks of basic training. 訓 練 學 校 亦 為 消 防 隊 目 ( 控 制 ) 學 員 提 供 初 級 訓 練, 以 及 為 內 部 聘 任 的 消 防 隊 長 提 供 入 職 培 訓 二 零 零 七 年, 有 22 名 消 防 隊 目 ( 控 制 ) 學 員 和 五 名 內 部 聘 任 的 消 防 隊 長 ( 控 制 ) 完 成 入 職 The school also provides initial training to recruit Senior Firemen/Firewomen (Control) and induction training to in-service appointed Station Officers as well. Subjects such as fire protection, legislation, physics and science of combustion are also included. In 2007, 173 recruit Firemen completed this training. The training for recruit Station Officers covers command and leadership skills in addition to basic firefighting and rescue techniques. During the year, 26 recruit Station Officers completed the initial training. It co-organised with the Labour Department, Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education Council, and Education Bureau a Youth Pre-employment Training Programme, a Life Skills Education Camp and an Enhanced Smart Teen Challenge Project respectively. These programmes aimed at providing discipline, leadership and fire protection training to young people, vocational and secondary school students. Training 救 心 先 鋒 示 範 為 心 臟 病 發 者 進 行 急 救 Heart savers demonstrate first-aid skills to save the life of a heart attack victim 消 防 處 救 護 訓 練 學 校 消 防 處 救 護 訓 練 學 校 為 不 同 職 級 的 救 護 人 員, 提 供 基 本 救 護 學 和 專 門 的 輔 助 醫 療 訓 練 Fire Services Ambulance Command Training School The school provides basic ambulance aid and specialised paramedic training to ambulance personnel of different ranks. 訓 練 學 校 亦 訓 練 消 防 人 員 及 文 職 人 員 使 用 自 動 心 臟 去 顫 器, 並 繼 續 為 市 民 免 費 提 供 社 區 心 肺 復 甦 法 訓 練 截 至 二 零 零 七 年 年 底, 有 近 21,000 名 市 民 完 成 這 項 訓 練 The school also trains fire personnel, civilian staff to use automated external defibrillators (AED). It continues to conduct free community cardio-pulmonary resuscitation training for the public. Upon completion of the course, the recruits will be posted to ambulance depots to undergo on-the-job training to gain field experiences. The school continues to provide Emergency Medical Assistant II (EMA II) Courses. Up to the end of 2007, a total of 1,020 ambulance personnel attained the qualification. To maintain and upgrade their paramedic knowledge and skills, the school also conducts courses such as EMA II recertification course, advanced airway management training, continuing medical education and other advanced protocol training. 消 防 處 鼓 勵 物 業 管 理 業 界 在 公 眾 地 方 提 供 自 動 心 臟 去 顫 器, 讓 市 民 在 緊 急 時 使 用 二 零 零 七 年 八 月, 本 處 展 開 救 心 先 鋒 計 劃, 為 物 業 管 理 從 業 員 和 機 場 保 安 人 員 提 供 心 肺 復 甦 法 和 心 臟 去 顫 法 訓 練 年 內, 超 過 1,400 人 完 成 訓 練, 並 獲 委 任 為 救 心 先 鋒 這 計 劃 將 擴 展 至 老 人 院 和 酒 店 業 The Department has encouraged property management sector to provide AED in public places for emergency use by members of the public. The Heart Saver Scheme was also launched in August 2007 to provide training to property management staff and airport security personnel on cardio-pulmonary resuscitation and defibrillation. Over 1,400 persons completed the training and were appointed as Heart Savers during the year. The centre provides continuous training programme including search & rescue at simulated tunnel and maze and live fire training in various situations to strengthen the skills of fire personnel in tackling different types of fire and disaster. A total of 12 Senior Officers completed the programme which was conducted by the Department s senior commanders and experts from different organisations. 為 確 保 特 別 救 援 隊 有 足 夠 人 手, 消 防 處 在 二 零 零 七 年 為 122 名 屬 員 提 供 特 別 救 援 隊 訓 練 此 外, 共 有 948 名 特 別 救 援 隊 成 員 在 年 內 參 加 了 在 所 屬 消 防 局 舉 辦 的 持 續 複 修 課 程 To maintain a sufficient pool of Special Rescue Squad members in the Department, training courses were conducted with 122 members attending in 2007. FSD is the first government department to conduct a consultancy on the advice of the Education Bureau to study and formulate Specifications of Competency Standards. Upon consultation and finalisation of the specifications, the Department will design appropriate training courses according to the specifications for Service members. The objective is to provide staff with multifarious learning ladders and encourage them to embrace life-long learning, enhance their expertise and apply fully what they have learned in building a better future for themselves and providing better quality service to the public. units. E-learning A Departmental On-line E-learning course was launched in 2005 to provide an alternative means of personal training and development for Service members. The annual Physical Fitness Assessment for Service members consists of two parts aerobic run and strength test. In 2007, of the 6,281 Service members who took part in the assessment, 19 % achieved the top grading of 1/A and only about 3 % were required to be reassessed. PTE staff are often deployed to assist in organising and act as officials in departmental sports events such as the athletic meet, swimming gala and cross country run. They are also often invited by local and international sports associations to act as officials for sports events such as the Trailwalker.
