As days grew darker, the Lord raised up stronger voices to admonish His people. In a sense, they were the "evangelists" of their day calling on the people to repent (see 2 Kings 17:13). By the time Isaiah began his ministry, the Northern Kingdom (Israel) was virtually in the grip of the Assyrians. Within several years, Samaria fell and their captivity began. The Southern Kingdom (Judah) where Isaiah ministered lasted for several more years. 2 Kings 列王紀下 17:13 MEMORY VERSE: Isaiah 38:15 What shall I say? They were Uzziah 烏西雅, Jotham 約坦, Ahaz 亞哈斯 and Hezekiah 希西家 (Isa. 1:1). Israel had not as yet fallen when Ahaz ascended the throne in Judah. Twelve years passed before their captivity began (2 Kings 17:1). During this time they were in league with Syria in an invasion of Judah. Additionally, Judah was raided by the Philistines and the Edomites. Many of their outlying cities were captured (2 Chron. 28:17,18). The Lord brought Ahaz low because of his wickedness (v.19). In his distress, Ahaz became more faithless (v.22).

Faith in God would bring victory (Isaiah 7). Stubborn and defiant, Ahaz ignored Isaiah and refused to accept the Lord's sign. He sought his own way out by making an alliance with Assyria. While it helped stabilize the situation somewhat, it put him under heavy tribute to Tiglath-pileser (vv.20, 21; see also 2 Kings 16:7-9). 2 Chronicles 28: Kings 16: And Tilgathpilneser king of Assyria came unto him, and distressed him, but strengthened him not. 亞述王提革拉毗尼色上來, 卻沒有幫助他, 反倒欺凌他 21 For Ahaz took away a portion out of the house of the LORD, and out of the house of the king, and of the princes, and gave it unto the king of Assyria: but he helped him not. 亞哈斯從耶和華殿裡和王宮中, 並首領家內所取的財寶給了亞述王, 這也無濟於事 7 So Ahaz sent messengers to Tiglathpileser 提革拉毗列色 king of Assyria, saying, I am thy servant and thy son: come up, and save me out of the hand of the king of Syria, and out of the hand of the king of Israel, which rise up against me. 亞哈斯差遣使者去見亞述王提革拉毗列色, 說 : 我是你的僕人 你的兒子 現在亞蘭王和以色列王攻擊我, 求你來救我脫離他們的手 8 And Ahaz took the silver and gold that was found in the house of the LORD, and in the treasures of the king's house, and sent it for a present to the king of Assyria. 亞哈斯將耶和華殿裡和王宮府庫裡所有的金銀都送給亞述王為禮物 9 And the king of Assyria hearkened unto him: for the king of Assyria went up against Damascus, and took it, and carried the people of it captive to Kir 吉珥, and slew Rezin. 亞述王應允了他, 就上去攻打大馬色, 將城攻取, 殺了利汛, 把居民擄到吉珥 2

3 Israel and Syria had succeeded in defeating Judah and inflicting great damage. However, through the grace of God they were unable to take Jerusalem and were subsequently forced by the Lord to return the two hundred thousand captives and the "great spoil" they had taken (2 Chron. 28:5-14). Hezekiah and Isaiah: Though the son of the wicked and idolatrous Ahaz, Hezekiah had a heart to do the things of God. Early in his reign he re-established the temple worship and promoted the celebration of the Passover. Letters were even sent to the Northern Kingdom inviting those interested to join in this celebration (see 2 Chron. 29 and 30). Under Hezekiah the Assyrians threatened to capture Judah. Samaria had already fallen by now in the face of this conqueror. Like a strong machine, the Assyrian army had crushed nation after nation. Finally they encamped around Jerusalem and demanded its surrender (Isaiah 36). The dialogue between the leaders of the two nations is fascinating reading. In addition to all these troubles Hezekiah became gravely sick (38:1). Isaiah 38:1 In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came unto him, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order: for thou shalt die, and not live. 那時希西家病得要死, 亞摩斯的兒子先知以賽亞去見他, 對他說 : 耶和華如此說 : 你當留遺命與你的家, 因為你必死不能活了 Help was sought from the Lord through Isaiah (37:1-4). Because the Lord promised deliverance, Judah refused to surrender (vv. 5-13). This stand prompted Sennacharib to renew his threats in a letter which Hezekiah spread before the Lord (vv ). Again through Isaiah the Lord promised deliverance (vv ). Not only did the Lord miraculously defeat the Assyrians but brought a great healing to Hezekiah in marvelous answers to prayer. Both events were noised abroad and many came from far countries to visit Hezekiah (Isaiah 39). THE LESSONS: Isaiah is another example of how the prophets lived in the mainstream of history and dealt in the dayto-day problems of the land. Though Isaiah's writings abound in Messianic prophecies of great blessing and import (significance; importance), they were all given in the context of his day-by-day ministry as a spokesman for God. Though he was contemporary with one of the greatest prophets that ever lived, Ahaz promoted the most obnoxious idolatrous practices. Purposely he turned his back on God and sought the gods of the other lands who had shown their impotence (powerlessness) in the face of invaders. Ahaz refused the evidence on which his faith could have been established. The offer God made to him is extra-ordinary and another example of the wideness of His mercy. It takes a determined effort to escape this mercy. Pride stood between Ahaz and complete victory. He refused to humble himself and yield to God. Though he was directly opposite in his service to God than Ahaz, Hezekiah had similar if not more pressing difficulties. It was the way he approached the trouble that made the big difference. We see here some basic lessons on our conduct in a trial. Note how the conflict eventually centered about the ability of the living God versus the ability of the gods of this world. All men instinctively seek a higher power when problems become too large for them. It matters greatly who your God is in such a situation. The Assyrians mocked the living God as men are prone to do when they are strong. They considered Him no more powerful than the gods of the world (see Isa. 37:4, 12, 13). The issue was over whether there was a difference. Hezekiah prayed that God would honor His name. Whenever a trial reflects on the honor of His name and our prayer seeks to win this honor in the world, God is bound to answer. Hezekiah's prayer was answered because he prayed with this urgency. It is unfortunate that when the crisis was over he did not openly glorify God before the many visitors who came to see Him (Isa. 39). Those that put their trust in God are never put to shame. They should not therefore be ashamed to acknowledge His name in all the earth. 3

5 Monday: 2 Chronicles 28 歷代志下 1 Ahaz was twenty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem: but he did not that which was right in the sight of the LORD, like David his father: 亞哈斯登基的時候年二十歲, 在耶路撒冷作王十六年 ; 不像他祖大衛行耶和華眼中看為正的事, 2 For he walked in the ways of the kings of Israel, and made also molten images for Baalim. 卻行以色列諸王的道, 又鑄造巴力的像, 3 Moreover he burnt incense in the valley of the son of Hinnom, and burnt his children in the fire, after the abominations of the heathen whom the LORD had cast out before the children of Israel. 並且在欣嫩子谷燒香, 用火焚燒他的兒女, 行耶和華在以色列人面前所驅逐的外邦人那可憎的事 ; 4 He sacrificed also and burnt incense in the high places, and on the hills, and under every green tree. 並在邱壇上 山岡上 各青翠樹下獻祭燒香 5 Wherefore the LORD his God delivered him into the hand of the king of Syria; and they smote him, and carried away a great multitude of them captives, and brought them to Damascus. 8 Tuesday: Isaiah 7 以賽亞書 1 And it came to pass in the days of Ahaz 亞哈斯 the son of Jotham 約坦, the son of Uzziah 烏西雅, king of Judah, that Rezin 利汛 the king of Syria, and Pekah 比加 the son of Remaliah 利瑪利, king of Israel, went up toward Jerusalem to war against it, but could not prevail against it. 烏西雅的孫子 約坦的兒子 猶大王亞哈斯在位的時候, 亞蘭王利汛和利瑪利的兒子 以色列王比加上來攻打耶路撒冷, 卻不能攻取 2 And it was told the house of David, saying, Syria is confederate with Ephraim. And his heart was moved, and the heart of his people, as the trees of the wood are moved with the wind. 有人告訴大衛家說 : 亞蘭與以法蓮已經同盟 王的心和百姓的心就都跳動, 好像林中的樹被風吹動一樣 3 Then said the LORD unto Isaiah, Go forth now to meet Ahaz, thou, and Shearjashub 施亞雅述 thy son, at the end of the conduit of the upper pool in the highway of the fuller's field; 耶和華對以賽亞說 : 你和你的兒子施亞雅述出去, 到上池的水溝頭, 在漂布地的大路上, 去迎接亞哈斯, Shearjashub means A remnant will return. 4 And say unto him, Take heed, and be quiet; fear not, neither be fainthearted for the two tails of these smoking firebrands, for the fierce anger of Rezin with Syria, and of the son of Remaliah. 對他說 : 你要謹慎安靜, 不要因亞蘭王利汛和利瑪利的兒子這兩個冒煙的火把頭所發的烈怒害怕, 也不要心裡膽怯 5 Because Syria, Ephraim, and the son of Remaliah, have taken evil counsel against thee, saying, 因為亞蘭和以法蓮, 並利瑪利的兒子, 設惡謀害你, 6 Let us go up against Judah, and vex it, and let us make a breach therein for us, and set a king in the midst of it, even the son of Tabeal 他比勒 : 說 : 我們可以上去攻擊猶大, 擾亂他, 攻破他, 在其中立他比勒的兒子為王 7 Thus saith the Lord GOD, It shall not stand, neither shall it come to pass. 所以主耶和華如此說 : 這所謀的必立不住, 也不得成就 8 For the head of Syria is Damascus, and the head of Damascus is Rezin; and within threescore and five years shall Ephraim be broken, that it be not a people. 原來亞蘭的首城是大馬色 ; 大馬色的首領是利汛 ( 六十五年之內, 以法蓮必然破壞, 不再成為國民 ) King Jehoshaphat admonished the people of Judah before battle And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper. (2 Chronicles 20:20) 次日清早, 眾人起來往提哥亞的曠野去 出去的時候, 約沙法站著說 : 猶大人和耶路撒冷的居民哪, 要聽我說 : 信耶和華 你們的神就必立穩 ; 信他的先知就必亨通 The Lord speaks to King Ahaz through Isaiah 9 And the head of Ephraim is Samaria, and the head of Samaria is Remaliah's son. If ye will not believe, surely ye shall not be established. 以法蓮的首城是撒瑪利亞 ; 撒瑪利亞的首領是利瑪利的兒子 你們若是不信, 定然不得立穩 If you don't take your stand in faith, you won't have a leg to stand on. He will bring the king of Assyria upon you! 18 In that day the LORD will whistle for the army of southern Egypt and for the army of Assyria. They will swarm around you like flies and bees. 19 They will come in vast hordes and settle in the fertile areas and also in the desolate valleys, caves, and thorny places. 20 In that day the Lord will hire a razor from beyond the Euphrates River the king of Assyria and use it to shave off everything: your land, your crops, and your people. 21 In that day a farmer will be fortunate to have a cow and two sheep or goats left. 22 Nevertheless, there will be enough milk for everyone because so few people will be left in the land. They will eat their fill of yogurt and honey. 23 In that day the lush vineyards, now worth 1,000 pieces of silver, will become patches of briers and thorns. 24 The entire land will become a vast expanse of briers and thorns, a hunting ground overrun by wildlife. 25 No one will go to the fertile hillsides where the gardens once grew, for briers and thorns will cover them. 20 the king of Arphad, and the king of the city of Sepharvaim, Hena, and Ivah? 哈馬的王, 亞珥拔的王, 西法瓦音城的王, 希拿和以瓦的王, 都在哪裡呢? 14 And Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers, and read it: and Hezekiah went up unto the house of the LORD, and spread it before the LORD. 希西家從使者手裡接過書信來, 看完了, 就上耶和華的殿, 將書信在耶和華面前展開 15 And Hezekiah prayed unto the LORD, saying, 希西家向耶和華禱告說 : 16 O LORD of hosts, God of Israel, that dwellest between the cherubims, thou art the God, even thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth: thou hast made heaven and earth. 坐在二基路伯上萬軍之耶和華 以色列的神啊, 你 惟有你是天下萬國的神, 你曾創造天地 17 Incline thine ear, O LORD, and hear; open thine eyes, O LORD, and see: and hear all the words of Sennacherib, which hath sent to reproach the living God. 耶和華啊, 求你側耳而聽 ; 耶和華啊, 求你睜眼而看, 要聽西拿基立的一切話, 他是打發使者來辱罵永生神的 18 Of a truth, LORD, the kings of Assyria have laid waste all the nations, and their countries, 耶和華啊, 亞述諸王果然使列國和列國之地變為荒涼, 19 And have cast their gods into the fire: for they were no gods, but the work of men's hands, wood and stone: therefore they have destroyed them. 將列國的神像都扔在火裡 ; 因 the king of Arpad, and the king of the city of Sepharvaim, of Hena, and Ivah? 哈馬的王 亞珥拔的王 西法瓦音城的王 希拿, 和以瓦的王都在哪裡呢? 14 And Hezekiah received the letter of the hand of the messengers, and read it: and Hezekiah went up into the house of the LORD, and spread it before the LORD. 希西家從使者手裡接過書信來, 看完了, 就上耶和華的殿, 將書信在耶和華面前展開 15 And Hezekiah prayed before the LORD, and said, O LORD God of Israel, which dwellest between the cherubims, thou art the God, even thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth; thou hast made heaven and earth. 希西家向耶和華禱告說 : 坐在二基路伯上耶和華 以色列的神啊, 你是天下萬國的神, 你曾創造天地 16 LORD, bow down thine ear, and hear: open, LORD, thine eyes, and see: and hear the words of Sennacherib, which hath sent him to reproach the living God. 耶和華啊, 求你側耳而聽! 耶和 華啊, 求你睜眼而看! 要聽西拿基立打發使者來辱罵永生神的話 17 Of a truth, LORD, the kings of Assyria have destroyed the nations and their lands, 耶和華啊, 亞述諸王果然使列國和列國之地變為荒涼, 18 And have cast their gods into the fire: for they were no gods, but the work of men's hands, wood and stone: therefore they have destroyed them. 將列國的神像都扔在火裡 ; 因為他本不是神, 乃是人手所造 And for this cause Hezekiah the king, and the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz, prayed and cried to heaven. 希西家王和亞摩斯的兒子先知以賽亞因此禱告, 向天呼求

21 為他本不是神, 乃是人手所造的, 是木頭 石頭的, 所以滅絕他 20 Now therefore, O LORD our God, save us from his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that thou art the LORD, even thou only. 耶和華 我們的神啊, 現在求你救我們脫離亞述王的手, 使天下萬國都知道唯有你是耶和華 21 Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent unto Hezekiah, saying, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Whereas thou hast prayed to me against Sennacherib king of Assyria: 亞摩斯的兒子以賽亞就打發人去 見希西家, 說 : 耶和華 以色列的神如此說, 你既然求我攻擊亞述王西拿基立, 22 This is the word which the LORD hath spoken concerning him; The virgin, the daughter of Zion, hath despised thee, and laughed thee to scorn; the daughter of Jerusalem hath shaken her head at thee. 所以耶和華論他這樣說 : 錫安的處女藐視你, 嗤笑你 ; 耶路撒冷的女子向你搖頭 23 Whom hast thou reproached and blasphemed? and against whom hast thou exalted thy voice, and lifted up thine eyes on high? even against the Holy One of Israel. 你辱罵誰, 褻瀆誰? 揚起聲來, 高舉眼目攻擊誰呢? 乃是攻擊以色列的聖者 24 By thy servants hast thou reproached the Lord, and hast said, By the multitude of my chariots am I come up to the height of the mountains, to the sides of Lebanon; and I will cut down the tall cedars thereof, and the choice fir trees thereof: and I will enter into the height of his border, and the forest 的, 是木頭石頭的, 所以滅絕他 19 Now therefore, O LORD our God, I beseech thee, save thou us out of his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that thou art the LORD God, even thou only. 耶和華 我們的神啊, 現在求你救我們脫離亞述王的手, 使天下萬國都知道惟獨你 耶和華是神! 20 Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent to Hezekiah, saying, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, That which thou hast prayed to me against Sennacherib king of Assyria I have heard. 亞摩斯的兒子以賽亞就打發人去 見希西家, 說 : 耶和華 以色列的神如此說 : 你既然求我攻擊亞述王西拿基立, 我已聽見了 21 This is the word that the LORD hath spoken concerning him; The virgin the daughter of Zion hath despised thee, and laughed thee to scorn; the daughter of Jerusalem hath shaken her head at thee. 耶和華論他這樣說 : 錫安的處女藐視你, 嗤笑你 ; 耶路撒冷的女子向你搖頭 22 Whom hast thou reproached and blasphemed? and against whom hast thou exalted thy voice, and lifted up thine eyes on high? even against the Holy One of Israel. 你辱罵誰? 褻瀆誰? 揚起聲來, 高舉眼目攻擊誰呢? 乃是攻擊以色列的聖者! 23 By thy messengers thou hast reproached the LORD, and hast said, With the multitude of my chariots I am come up to the height of the mountains, to the sides of Lebanon, and will cut down the tall cedar trees thereof, and the choice fir trees thereof: and I will enter into the lodgings of his borders, and 21

25 3 And said, Remember now, O LORD, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore. 耶和華啊, 求你記念我在你面前怎樣存完全的心, 按誠實行事, 又做你眼中所看為善的 希西家就痛哭了 4 Then came the word of the LORD to Isaiah, saying, 耶和華的話臨到以賽亞說 : 5 Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years. 你去告訴希西家說, 耶和華 你祖大衛的神如此說 : 我聽見了你的禱告, 看見了你的眼淚 我必加增你十五年的壽數 ; 6 And I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria: and I will defend this city. 並且我要救你和這城脫離亞述王的手, 也要保護這城 7 And this shall be a sign unto thee from the LORD, that the LORD will do this thing that he hath spoken; 我 耶和華必成就我所說的 我先給你一個兆頭, 8 Behold, I will bring again the shadow of the degrees, which is gone down in the sun dial of Ahaz, ten degrees backward. So the sun returned ten degrees, by which degrees it was gone down. 就是叫亞哈斯的日晷, 向前進的日影往後退十度 於是, 前進的日影果然在日晷上往後退了十度 3 I beseech thee, O LORD, remember now how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. 26 LORD will heal me, and that I shall go up into the house of the LORD the third day? 希西家問以賽亞說 : 耶和華必醫治我, 到第三日, 我能上耶和華的殿, 有甚麼兆頭呢? 9 And Isaiah said, This sign shalt thou have of the LORD, that the LORD will do the thing that he hath spoken: shall the shadow go forward ten degrees, or go back ten degrees? 以賽亞說 : 耶和華必成就他所說的 這是他給你的兆頭 : 你要日影向前進十度呢? 是要往後退十度呢? 10 And Hezekiah answered, It is a light thing for the shadow to go down ten degrees: nay, but let the shadow return backward ten degrees. 希西家回答說 : 日影向前進十度容易, 我要日影往後退十度 11 And Isaiah the prophet cried unto the LORD: and he brought the shadow ten degrees backward, by which it had gone down in the dial of Ahaz. 先知以賽亞求告耶和華, 耶和就使亞哈斯的日晷向前進的日影, 往後退了十度 26

27 THE WRITING OF KING HEZEKIAH Isaiah 38: The writing of Hezekiah king of Judah, when he had been sick, and was recovered of his sickness: 猶大王希西家患病已經痊愈, 就作詩說 : 10 I said in the cutting off of my days, I shall go to the gates of the grave: I am deprived of the residue of my years. 我說 : 正在我中年 ( 或譯 : 晌午 ) 之日必進入陰間的門 ; 我餘剩的年歲不得享受 11 I said, I shall not see the LORD, even the LORD, in the land of the living: I shall behold man no more with the inhabitants of the world. 我說 : 我必不得見耶和華, 就是在活人之地不見耶和華 ; 我與世上的居民不再見面 12 Mine age is departed, and is removed from me as a shepherd's tent: I have cut off like a weaver my life: he will cut me off with pining sickness: from day even to night wilt thou make an end of me. 我的住處被遷去離開我, 好像牧人的帳棚一樣 ; 我將性命捲起, 像織布的捲布一樣 耶和華必將我從機頭剪斷, 從早到晚, 他要使我完結 13 I reckoned till morning, that, as a lion, so will he break all my bones: from day even to night wilt thou make an end of me. 我使自己安靜直到天亮 ; 他像獅子折斷我一切的骨頭, 從早到晚, 他要使我完結 14 Like a crane or a swallow, so did I chatter: I did mourn as a dove: mine eyes fail with looking upward: O LORD, I am oppressed; undertake for me. 我像燕子呢喃, 像白鶴鳴叫, 又像鴿子哀鳴 ; 我因仰觀, 眼睛困倦 耶和華啊, 我受欺壓, 求你為我作保 15 What shall I say? he hath both spoken unto me, and himself hath done it: I shall go softly all my years in the bitterness of my soul. 我可說甚麼呢? 他應許我的, 也給我成就了 我因心裡的苦楚, 在一生的年日必悄悄而行 16 O LORD, by these things men live, and in all these things is the life of my spirit: so wilt thou recover me, and make me to live. 主啊, 人得存活乃在乎此 我靈存活也全在此 所以求你使我痊愈, 仍然存活 17 Behold, for peace I had great bitterness: but thou hast in love to my soul delivered it from the pit of corruption: for thou hast cast all my sins behind thy back. 看哪, 我受大苦, 本為使我得平安 ; 你因愛我的靈魂 ( 或譯 : 生命 ) 便救我脫離敗壞的坑, 因為你將我一切的罪扔在你的背後 18 For the grave cannot praise thee, death can not celebrate thee: they that go down into the pit cannot hope for thy truth. 原來, 陰間不能稱謝你, 死亡不能頌揚你 ; 下坑的人不能盼望你的誠實 19 The living, the living, he shall praise thee, as I do this day: the father to the children shall make known thy truth. 只有活人, 活人必稱謝你, 像我今日稱謝你一樣 為父的, 必使兒女知道你的誠實 20 The LORD was ready to save me: therefore we will sing my songs to the stringed instruments all the days of our life in the house of the LORD. 耶和華肯救我, 所以, 我們要一生一世在耶和華殿中用絲弦的樂器唱我的詩歌 21 For Isaiah had said, Let them take a lump of figs, and lay it for a plaister upon the boil, and he shall recover. 以賽亞說 : 當取一塊無花果餅來, 貼在瘡上, 王必痊愈 22 Hezekiah also had said, What is the sign that I shall go up to the house of the LORD? 希西家問說 : 我能上 耶和華的殿, 有甚麼兆頭呢? 27

And Hezekiah prospered in all his works. 這希西家也塞住基訓的上源, 引水直下, 流在大衛城的西邊 希西家所行的事盡都亨通 31 Howbeit in the business of the ambassadors of the princes of Babylon, who sent unto him to enquire of the wonder that was done in the land, God left him, to try him, that he might know all that was in his heart. 惟有一件事, 就是巴比倫王差遣 使者來見希西家, 訪問國中所現的奇事 ; 這件事神離開他, 要試驗他, 好知道他心內如何 32 Now the rest of the acts of Hezekiah, and his goodness,

29 5 Then said Isaiah to Hezekiah, Hear the word of the LORD of hosts: 以賽亞對希西家說 : 你要聽萬軍之耶和華的話 : 6 Behold, the days come, that all that is in thine house, and that which thy fathers have laid up in store until this day, shall be carried to Babylon: nothing shall be left, saith the LORD. 日子必到, 凡你家裡所有的, 並你列祖積蓄到如今的, 都要被擄到巴比倫去, 不留下一樣 ; 這是耶和華說的 7 And of thy sons that shall issue from thee, which thou shalt beget, shall they take away; and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon. 並且從你本身所生的眾子, 其中必有被擄去 在巴比倫王宮裡當太監的 8 Then said Hezekiah to Isaiah, Good is the word of the LORD which thou hast spoken. And he said, Is it not good, if peace and truth be in my days? 希西家對以賽亞說 : 你所說耶和華的話甚好! 若在我的年日中有太平和穩固的景況, 豈不是好麼? 20 And the rest of the acts of Hezekiah, and all his might, and how he made a pool, and a conduit, and brought water into the city, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? 希西家其餘的事和他的勇力, 他怎樣挖池 挖溝 引水入城, 都寫在猶大列王記上 21 And Hezekiah slept with his fathers: and Manasseh his son reigned in his stead. 希西家與他列祖同睡 他兒子瑪 拿西接續他作王 Arphad 亞珥拔 : an ancient city in present-day Syria near Aleppo Sepharvaim 西法瓦音 :It was a double city on the east bank of the Euphrates Ivah was a city in Assyria, it lies on the Euphrates river between the cities of Sepharvaim and Henah. 29 behold, they are written in the vision of Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, and in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel. 希西家其餘的事和他的善行都寫在亞摩斯的兒子先知以賽亞的默示書上和猶大 以色列的諸王記上 33 And Hezekiah slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the chiefest of the sepulchres of the sons of David: and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem did him honour at his death. 32 Libnah or Lobna (Hebrew: ל ב נ ה, whiteness; Latin: Lobna) was a town in the Kingdom of Judah. The town of Libnah revolted during the reign of King Jehoram of Judah, according to II Chronicles (21:10), because he "had abandoned [the] God of his fathers." Josiah, King of Judah, married Hamutal, daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah (1 Chronicles 3:15; 2 Kings 23:31-32;2 Kings 24:17-18; Jeremiah 22:11). Two of their sons, Jehoahaz and Zedekiah also became Kings of Judah. Libnah was one of the places the Israelites stopped on the Exodus. (Joshua 10:29) As recorded in the Bible at 2 Kings 19 and Isaiah 37, in 732 BCE 185,000 Assyrian soldiers under King Sennacherib were killed by an angel of God while encamped near Libnah, thwarting their advance from Lachish to Jerusalem. 32
