Input basin sub sidence rate can be de2 rived by back stripp ing techn ique, o r be calcu lated by quan titative fo rw ard basin models. Geom etric mod2 els, com b ined w ith diffu sion models, have been u sed in the system to determ ine depo sitional su rfaces and facies geom etry. T he system can be u sed to analysis the con tro lling p rocesses of sedim en tary basin s and to p redict sequence arch itectu re and facies distribu tion w ith in basin s. T he model has been alogrum thed to sim u late the sedim en tary filling of con tinen tal m argin basin s and show n that the tecton ic sub sidence rate variation and the amp litude of sea level change have a strong influence on the geom etry and depo sitional style of basin fills.
