First, t his method implement s automatic interpretation of 2D construction drawings. Based on t he analysis, a 3D2digital model wit h bot h geometrical and syntactic information is generated. Then, using t his model, t he following t hree automatic applications are run : quantity survey, 3D steel rein2 forced lofting and visualization, and network plan generation for construction p rogress management. This paper gives a t horough introduction to effective design and implementation of t he above met hods, and com2 pares them wit h existing workflow met hods.
