On the fourteenth day of the first month the Passover was observed, and on the fifteenth day of the same month the Feast of Unleavened Bread began. This latter feast lasted for seven days (Lev. 23:6). The Passover as well as the first and last days of the Feast of Unleavened Bread were days of "holy convocation" when no servile work was to be done (vv. 7, 8). In this sense they were days which were observed in the same way as the weekly sabbath. Leviticus 利未記 23:6-8 6 And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto the LORD: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread. 7 In the first day ye shall have an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein. 8 But ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD seven days: in the seventh day is an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein. 這月十五日是向耶和華守的無酵節 ; 你們要吃無酵餅七日 第一日當有聖會, 甚麼勞碌的工都不可做 ; 要將火祭獻給耶和華七日 第七日是聖會, 甚麼勞碌的工都不可做 LESSON NOTES: Feast of Pentecost: During the Feast of Unleavened Bread began the observation of the second major festival of the Jewish year. This event, the second of the three at which all male Jews were commanded to appear before the Lord, was the Feast of Pentecost ( 五旬節 ), also known as the Feast of Weeks ( 七七節 ). This feast actually commenced on the "morrow after the sabbath" with the waving before the Lord of the first sheaf harvested for the season. This also signaled the beginning of the spring harvest of grain. The "sabbath" referred to was not the weekly sabbath but the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread. Thus the events were as follows on the three consecutive days: the Passover (14th day), the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread (15th day), the waving of the sheaf of the first fruits of harvest before the Lord (16th day). Fifty days later, the day of Pentecost "fully" came. That is, seven weeks plus one day after the waving of the first sheaf, an offering of the first fruits of the harvest was presented to the Lord in the form of two loaves baked from the harvested grain. This marked the close of the spring harvest. It is from these fifty days that the name "Pentecost" comes. Pentecost stands for "fifty" as pentagon represents a five-sided figure. The character of the feast is further expressed by alternate designations of the same event as the "feast of harvest 收割節 "(Ex. 23:16), "day of first fruits 初熟節 " (Num. 28: 26), and Feast of Weeks 七七節. 2 Pentecost was first observed when the Jews entered Canaan (Lev. 23:10), forty years after the first Passover. As with the other feasts, it had a dual purpose. It reminded them of God's provision for them in giving them the rich blessings of a harvest, and it also taught them to put the Lord first in all their blessings (Ex. 34:19; Prov. 3:9). Leviticus 利未記 23:10 Exodus 出埃及記 34:19 Proverbs 箴言 3:9 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land which I give unto you, and shall reap the harvest thereof, then ye shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest unto the priest: 你曉諭以色列人說 : 你們到了我賜給你們的地, 收割莊稼的時候, 要將初熟的莊稼一捆帶給祭司 All that openeth the matrix (a substance in which something is embedded or enclosed) is mine; and every firstling among thy cattle, whether ox or sheep, that is male. 凡頭生的都是我的 ; 一切牲畜頭生的, 無論是牛是羊, 公的都是我的 Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: 你要以財物和一切初熟的土產尊榮耶和華 Pentecost and the Law: Jewish tradition further teaches that the Feast of Pentecost marked the anniversary of the giving of the law by God to Moses on Mt. Sinai. From a standpoint of timing this is quite accurate. There is no reason why such a tradition should be manufactured without real basis in fact. It was the third month of the year when the Israelites camped at the mount in the wilderness of Sinai (Ex. 19:1). This would place the giving of the law during the same month as the Feast of Pentecost. Exodus 出埃及記 19:1 In the third month, when the children of Israel were gone forth out of the land of Egypt, the same day came they into the wilderness of Sinai. 以色列人出埃及地以後, 滿了三個月的那一天, 就來到西乃的曠野 The covenant which God had with His people was to make of them a "peculiar treasure... above all people" and a "holy nation" (Ex. 19:5, 6). It was for this purpose that He brought them out of the house of bondage and brought them unto Himself (v.4) In order that they might be a holy people, He gave them the law as the standard of holiness. Fear and reverence for a holy God pervaded (saturate; permeate; pass through) both the law and the manner in which it was given (Ex. 20:3-5, 18, 21). 3 THE LESSONS: Joy and thankfulness were major lessons which the Lord desired to teach His people. They were to be joyful over the freedom and liberty into which He had brought them in Canaan, and they were to be thankful for the good things which this new land provided. An equally important lesson slipped into this feast was kindness and consideration for the less fortunate. In reaping the harvest, they were intentionally to leave something in the fields for the poor and the strangers to reap (Lev. 23:22). The blessing was not to be kept entirely for one's self. Joy be joyful over the freedom and liberty into which He had brought them in Canaan Thankfulness be thankful for the good things which this new land provided Kindness and Consideration be kind and considerate for the less fortunate Leviticus 利未記 23:22 And when ye reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not make clean riddance (removal) of the corners of thy field when thou reapest, neither shalt thou gather any gleaning of thy harvest: thou shalt leave them unto the poor, and to the stranger: I am the LORD your God. 在你們的地收割莊稼, 不可割盡田角, 也不可拾取所遺落的 ; 要留給窮人和寄居的 我是耶和華 你們的神 The baptism of the Holy Spirit taking place on the Day of Pentecost is full of rich significance (Acts 2). God does not allow such things to happen by chance. First of all, it was on the "morrow after the sabbath" that Christ arose from the grave to become the "first fruits" of them that slept (Matt. 28:1; 1 Cor. 15:20). After He ascended into heaven, He received of the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit which He bestowed on His disciples on the Day of Pentecost (Acts 2:33). It was on that day that the first fruits (3,000 souls) were brought to the Lord as the first of a harvest of many to be reaped throughout this gospel era. Matthew 馬太福音 28:1 1 Corinthians 歌林多前書 15:20 In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre. 安息日將盡, 七日的頭一日, 天快亮的時候, 抹大拉的馬利亞和那個馬利亞來看墳墓 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. 但基督已經從死裡復活, 成為睡了之人初熟的果子 Acts 使徒行傳 2 2:33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear. 他既被神的右手高舉 ( 或作 : 他既高舉在神的右邊 ), 又從父受了所應許的聖靈, 就把你們所看見所聽見的, 澆灌下來 From another standpoint this is significant in that on the day of Pentecost it was the law of God which was written with the Spirit of the Living God in "fleshy tables of the heart" as it was many years before in tables of stone. This was the new covenant which God had been promising His people (Heb. 8:10), a covenant whereby every man would be enabled to fulfill the law of God by virtue of an inner power (the indwelling Holy Spirit). The Lord never put aside the moral law as found in the Ten Commandments. Jesus endorsed and supported them in his teachings. The law is ever "holy, just, and good" (Rom. 7:12). It was lacking only in that it was powerless to change the heart (i.e., the basic nature) of man so that the law could be kept. In this sense it was a "schoolmaster to bring us to Christ," for it showed man that a greater, an inward, power was necessary which could be supplied only by the Holy Spirit. Thus a better covenant has been provided by God through the ministration of Jesus Christ. The speaking in tongues on the day of Pentecost signified an inner control of a bodily function by the Holy Spirit. As with the original law, this writing of the law in the inward parts is intended to develop a holy people. Hebrews 希伯來書 8:10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: 主又說 : 那些日子以後, 我與以色列家所立的約乃是這樣 : 我要將我的律法放在他們裡面, 寫在他們心上 ; 我要作他們的神 ; 他們要作我的子民 Romans 羅馬書 7:12 Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good. 這樣看來, 律法是聖潔的, 誡命也是聖潔 公義 良善的 3

These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel. 你們要歸我作祭司的國度, 為聖潔的國民 這些話你要告訴以色列人 7 And Moses came and called for the elders of the people, and laid before their faces all these words which the LORD commanded him. 摩西去召了民間的長老來, 將耶和華所吩咐他的話都在他們面前陳明 8 And all the people answered together, and said, All that the LORD hath spoken we will do. And Moses returned the words of the people unto the LORD. 百姓都同聲回答說 : 凡耶和華所說的, 我們都要遵行 摩西就將百姓的話回覆耶和華 9 And the LORD said unto Moses, Lo, I come unto thee in a thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with thee, and believe thee for ever. And Moses told the words of the people unto the LORD. 耶和華對摩西說 : 我要在密雲中臨到你那裡, 叫百姓在我與你說話的時候可以聽見, 也可以永遠信你了 於是, 摩西將百姓的話奏告耶和華 10 And the LORD said unto Moses, Go unto the people, and sanctify them to day and to morrow, and let them wash their clothes, 耶和華又對摩西說 : 你往百姓那裡去, 叫他們今天明天自潔, 又叫他們洗衣服 11 And be ready against the third day: for the third day the LORD will come down in the sight of all the people upon mount Sinai. 到第三天要預備好了, 因為第三天耶和華要在眾百姓眼前降臨在西乃山上 12 And thou shalt set bounds unto the people round about, saying, Take heed to yourselves, that ye go not up into the mount, or touch the border of it: whosoever toucheth the mount shall be surely put to death: 你要在山的四圍給百姓定界限, 說 : 你們當謹慎, 不可上山去, 也不可摸山的邊界 ; 凡摸這山的, 必要治死他 13 There shall not an hand touch it, but he shall surely be stoned, or shot through; whether it be beast or man, it shall not live: when the trumpet soundeth long, they shall come up to the mount. 不可用手摸他, 必用石頭打死, 或用箭射透 ; 無論是人是牲畜, 都不得活 到角聲拖長的時候, 他們才可到山根來 14 And Moses went down from the mount unto the people, and sanctified the people; and they washed their clothes. 摩西下山往百姓那裡去, 叫他們自潔, 他們就洗衣服 15 And he said unto the people, Be ready against the third day: come not at your wives. 他對百姓說 : 到第三天要預備好了 不可親近女人 8

9 16 And it came to pass on the third day in the morning, that there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mount, and the voice of the trumpet exceeding loud; so that all the people that was in the camp trembled. 到了第三天早晨, 在山上有雷轟 閃電, 和密雲, 並且角聲甚大, 營中的百姓盡都發顫 17 And Moses brought forth the people out of the camp to meet with God; and they stood at the nether (lower) part of the mount. 摩西率領百姓出營迎接神, 都站在山下 18 And mount Sinai was altogether on a smoke, because the LORD descended upon it in fire: and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly. 西乃全山冒煙, 因為耶和華在火中降於山上 山的煙氣上騰, 如燒窯一般, 遍山大大的震動 19 And when the voice of the trumpet sounded long, and waxed louder and louder, Moses spake, and God answered him by a voice. 角聲漸漸的高而又高, 摩西就說話, 神有聲音答應他 20 And the LORD came down upon mount Sinai, on the top of the mount: and the LORD called Moses up to the top of the mount; and Moses went up. 耶和華降臨在西乃山頂上, 耶和華召摩西上山頂, 摩西就上去 21 And the LORD said unto Moses, Go down, charge the people, lest they break through unto the LORD to gaze, and many of them perish. 耶和華對摩西說 : 你下去囑咐百姓, 不可闖過來到我面前觀看, 恐怕他們有多人死亡 ; 22 And let the priests also, which come near to the LORD, sanctify themselves, lest the LORD break forth upon them. 又叫親近我的祭司自潔, 恐怕我忽然出來擊殺他們 23 And Moses said unto the LORD, The people cannot come up to mount Sinai: for thou chargedst us, saying, Set bounds about the mount, and sanctify it. 摩西對耶和華說 : 百姓不能上西乃山, 因為你已經囑咐我們說 : 要在山的四圍定界限, 叫山成聖 24 And the LORD said unto him, Away, get thee down, and thou shalt come up, thou, and Aaron with thee: but let not the priests and the people break through to come up unto the LORD, lest he break forth upon them. 耶和華對他說 : 下去罷, 你要和亞倫一同上來 ; 只是祭司和百姓不可闖過來上到我面前, 恐怕我忽然出來擊殺他們 25 So Moses went down unto the people, and spake unto them. 於是摩西下到百姓那裡告訴他們 9

10 Wednesday: Exodus 20 1 And God spake all these words, saying, 神吩咐這一切的話說 : 2 I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. 我是耶和華 你的神, 曾將你從埃及地為奴之家領出來 3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me. 除了我以外, 你不可有別的神 4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. 不可為自己雕刻偶像, 也不可做甚麼形像彷彿上天 下地, 和地底下 水中的百物 5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; 不可跪拜那些像, 也不可事奉他, 因為我耶和華 你的 神是忌邪的 神 恨我的, 我必追討他的罪, 自父及子, 直到三四代 ; 6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments. 愛我 守我誡命的, 我必向他們發慈愛, 直到千代 7 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. 不可妄稱耶和華 你神的名 ; 因為妄稱耶和華名的, 耶和華必不以他為無罪 8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. 當記念安息日, 守為聖日 9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: 六日要勞碌做你一切的工, 10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: 但第七日是向耶和華 你神當守的安息日 這一日你和你的兒女 僕婢 牲畜, 並你城裡寄居的客旅, 無論何工都不可做 ; 11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed (make holy) it. 因為六日之內, 耶和華造天 地 海, 和其中的萬物, 第七日便安息, 所以耶和華賜福與安息日, 定為聖日 12 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee. 當孝敬父母, 使你的日子在耶和華 你神所賜你的地上得以長久 13 Thou shalt not kill. 不可殺人 14 Thou shalt not commit adultery. 不可姦淫 15 Thou shalt not steal. 不可偷盜 16 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour. 不可作假見證陷害人 17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's. 不可貪戀人的房屋 ; 也不可貪戀人的妻子 僕婢 牛驢, 並他一切所有的 10

11 18 And all the people saw the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw it, they removed, and stood afar off. 眾百姓見雷轟 閃電 角聲 山上冒煙, 就都發顫, 遠遠的站立, 19 And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die. 對摩西說 : 求你和我們說話, 我們必聽 ; 不要神和我們說話, 恐怕我們死亡 20 And Moses said unto the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not. 摩西對百姓說 : 不要懼怕 ; 因為神降臨是要試驗你們, 叫你們時常敬畏他, 不致犯罪 21 And the people stood afar off, and Moses drew near unto the thick darkness where God was. 於是百姓遠遠地站立 ; 摩西就挨近神所在的幽暗之中 22 And the LORD said unto Moses, Thus thou shalt say unto the children of Israel, Ye have seen that I have talked with you from heaven. 耶和華對摩西說 : 你要向以色列人這樣說 : 你們自己看見我從天上和你們說話了 23 Ye shall not make with me gods of silver, neither shall ye make unto you gods of gold. 你們不可做甚麼神像與我相配, 不可為自己做金銀的神像 24 An altar of earth thou shalt make unto me, and shalt sacrifice thereon thy burnt offerings, and thy peace offerings, thy sheep, and thine oxen: in all places where I record my name I will come unto thee, and I will bless thee. 你要為我築土壇, 在上面以牛羊獻為燔祭和平安祭 凡記下我名的地方, 我必到那裡賜福給你 25 And if thou wilt make me an altar of stone, thou shalt not build it of hewn stone: for if thou lift up thy tool upon it, thou hast polluted it. 你若為我築一座石壇, 不可用鑿成的石頭, 因你在上頭一動家具, 就把壇污穢了 26 Neither shalt thou go up by steps unto mine altar, that thy nakedness be not discovered thereon. 你上我的壇, 不可用臺階, 免得露出你的下體來 11

12 Thursday: Exodus 34: And he said, Behold, I make a covenant: before all thy people I will do marvels, such as have not been done in all the earth, nor in any nation: and all the people among which thou art shall see the work of the LORD: for it is a terrible thing that I will do with thee. 耶和華說 : 我要立約, 要在百姓面前行奇妙的事, 是在遍地萬國中所未曾行的 在你四圍的外邦人就要看見耶和華的作為, 因我向你所行的是可畏懼的事 11 Observe thou that which I command thee this day: behold, I drive out before thee the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite. 我今天所吩咐你的, 你要謹守 我要從你面前攆出亞摩利人 迦南人 赫人 比利洗人 希未人 耶布斯人 12 Take heed to thyself, lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land whither thou goest, lest it be for a snare in the midst of thee: 你要謹慎, 不可與你所去那地的居民立約, 恐怕成為你們中間的網羅 ; 13 But ye shall destroy their altars, break their images, and cut down their groves: 卻要拆毀他們的祭壇, 打碎他們的柱像, 砍下他們的木偶 14 For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God: 不可敬拜別神 ; 因為耶和華是忌邪的神, 名為忌邪者 15 Lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, and they go a whoring after their gods, and do sacrifice unto their gods, and one call thee, and thou eat of his sacrifice; 只怕你與那地的居民立約, 百姓隨從他們的神, 就行邪淫, 祭祀他們的神, 有人叫你, 你便吃他的祭物, 16 And thou take of their daughters unto thy sons, and their daughters go a whoring after their gods, and make thy sons go a whoring after their gods. 又為你的兒子娶他們的女兒為妻, 他們的女兒隨從他們的神, 就行邪淫, 使你的兒子也隨從他們的神行邪淫 17 Thou shalt make thee no molten (molded produced by melting a material and then shaping it in a mold) gods. 不可為自己鑄造神像 18 The feast of unleavened bread shalt thou keep. Seven days thou shalt eat unleavened bread, as I commanded thee, in the time of the month Abib: for in the month Abib thou camest out from Egypt. 你要守除酵節, 照我所吩咐你的, 在亞筆月 ( 一月 ) 內所定的日期吃無酵餅七天, 因為你是這亞筆月內出了埃及 19 All that openeth the matrix is mine; and every firstling among thy cattle, whether ox or sheep, that is male. 凡頭生的都是我的 ; 一切牲畜頭生的, 無論是牛是羊, 公的都是我的 20 But the firstling of an ass thou shalt redeem with a lamb: and if thou redeem him not, then shalt thou break his neck. All the firstborn of thy sons thou shalt redeem. And none shall appear before me empty. 頭生的驢要用羊羔代贖, 若不代贖就要打折他的頸項 凡頭生的兒子都要贖出來 誰也不可空手朝見我 21 Six days thou shalt work, but on the seventh day thou shalt rest: in earing time and in harvest thou shalt rest. 你六日要做工, 第七日要安息, 雖在耕種收割的時候也要安息 22 And thou shalt observe the feast of weeks, of the firstfruits of wheat harvest, and the feast of ingathering at the year's end. 在收割初熟麥子的時候要守七七節 ; 又在年底要守收藏節 23 Thrice in the year shall all your menchildren appear before the LORD God, the God of Israel. 你們一切男丁要一年三次朝見主耶和華 以色列的神 24 For I will cast out the nations before thee, and enlarge thy borders: neither shall any man desire thy land, when thou shalt go up to appear before the LORD thy God thrice in the year. 我要從你面前趕出外邦人, 擴張你的境界 你一年三次上去朝見耶和華 你神的時候, 必沒有人貪慕你的地土 25 Thou shalt not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leaven; neither shall the sacrifice of the feast of the passover be left unto the morning. 你不可將我祭物的血和有酵的餅一同獻上 逾越節的祭物也不可留到早晨 12

13 26 The first of the firstfruits of thy land thou shalt bring unto the house of the LORD thy God. Thou shalt not seethe (boil) a kid in his mother's milk. 地裡首先初熟之物要送到耶和華 你神的殿 不可用山羊羔母的奶煮山羊羔 27 And the LORD said unto Moses, Write thou these words: for after the tenor (general nature of something; exact words or deed) of these words I have made a covenant with thee and with Israel. 耶和華吩咐摩西說 : 你要將這些話寫上, 因為我是按這話與你和以色列人立約 28 And he was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the ten commandments. 摩西在耶和華那裡四十晝夜, 也不吃飯也不喝水 耶和華將這約的話, 就是十條誡, 寫在兩塊版上 29 And it came to pass, when Moses came down from mount Sinai with the two tables of testimony in Moses' hand, when he came down from the mount, that Moses wist (past tense of wit meand to know ) not that the skin of his face shone while he talked with him. 摩西手裡拿著兩塊法版下西乃山的時候, 不知道自己的面皮因耶和華和他說話就發了光 30 And when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone; and they were afraid to come nigh him. 亞倫和以色列眾人看見摩西的面皮發光就怕挨近他 31 And Moses called unto them; and Aaron and all the rulers of the congregation returned unto him: and Moses talked with them. 摩西叫他們來 ; 於是亞倫和會眾的官長都到他那裡去, 摩西就與他們說話 32 And afterward all the children of Israel came nigh: and he gave them in commandment all that the LORD had spoken with him in mount Sinai. 隨後以色列眾人都近前來, 他就把耶和華在西乃山與他所說的一切話都吩咐他們 33 And till Moses had done speaking with them, he put a vail on his face. 摩西與他們說完了話就用帕子蒙上臉 34 But when Moses went in before the LORD to speak with him, he took the vail off, until he came out. And he came out, and spake unto the children of Israel that which he was commanded. 但摩西進到耶和華面前與他說話就揭去帕子, 及至出來的時候便將耶和華所吩咐的告訴以色列人 35 And the children of Israel saw the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses' face shone: and Moses put the vail upon his face again, until he went in to speak with him. 以色列人看見摩西的面皮發光 摩西又用帕子蒙上臉, 等到他進去與耶和華說話就揭去帕子 Apostle Paul is very serious is keeping the Feast before the Lord for he knows there is much blessing from the Lord. Exodus 34:23-24 Thrice in the year shall all your menchildren appear before the LORD God, the God of Israel. 你們一切男丁要一年三次朝見主耶和華 以色列的神 For I will cast out the nations before thee, and enlarge thy borders: neither shall any man desire thy land, when thou shalt go up to appear before the LORD thy God thrice in the year. 我要從你面前趕出外邦人, 擴張你的境界 你一年三次上去朝見耶和華 你神的時候, 必沒有人貪慕你的地土 Acts 18:21 (at the end of 2 nd Missionary Journey) But bade them farewell, saying, I (Paul) must by all means keep this feast that cometh in Jerusalem: but I will return again unto you, if God will. And he sailed from Ephesus. 就辭別他們, 說 : 神若許我, 我還要回到你們這裡 ; 於是開船離了以弗所 Acts 20:6, 16 (at the end of 3rd Missionary Journey) And we sailed away from Philippi after the days of unleavened bread, and came unto them to Troas in five days; where we abode seven days. 過了除酵的日子, 我們從腓立比開船, 五天到了特羅亞, 和他們相會, 在那裡住了七天 For Paul had determined to sail by Ephesus, because he would not spend the time in Asia: for he hasted, if it were possible for him, to be at Jerusalem the day of Pentecost. 乃因保羅早已定意越過以弗所, 免得在亞西亞耽延, 他急忙前走, 巴不得趕五旬節能到耶路撒冷 13

14 Friday: Acts 2: And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 五旬節到了, 門徒都聚集在一處 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. 忽然, 從天上有響聲下來, 好像一陣大風吹過, 充滿了他們所坐的屋子, 3 And there appeared unto them cloven (split in two) tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. 又有舌頭如火燄顯現出來, 分開落在他們各人頭上 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. 他們就都被聖靈充滿, 按著聖靈所賜的口才說起別國的話來 5 And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven. 那時, 有虔誠的猶太人從天下各國來, 住在耶路撒冷 6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language. 這聲音一響, 眾人都來聚集, 各人聽見門徒用眾人的鄉談說話, 就甚納悶 ; 7 And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans? 都驚訝希奇說 : 看哪, 這說話的不都是加利利人麼? 8 And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born? 我們各人, 怎麼聽見他們說我們生來所用的鄉談呢? 9 Parthians(North-east of Iran),, and Medes, and Elamites(southwest of Iran), and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia, 我們帕提亞人 瑪代人 以攔人, 和住在米所波大米 猶太 加帕多家 本都 亞西亞 14

15 10 Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes, 弗呂家 旁非利亞 埃及的人, 並靠近古利奈的呂彼亞一帶地方的人, 從羅馬來的客旅中, 或是猶太人, 或是進猶太教的人, 11 Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God. 革哩底和亞拉伯人, 都聽見他們用我們的鄉談, 講說神的大作為 12 And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this? 眾人就都驚訝猜疑, 彼此說 : 這是甚麼意思呢? 13 Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine. 還有人譏誚說 : 他們無非是新酒灌滿了 14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words: 彼得和十一個使徒站起, 高聲說 : 猶太人和一切住在耶路撒冷的人哪, 這件事你們當知道, 也當側耳聽我的話 15 For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day. (9 a.m.) 你們想這些人是醉了 ; 其實不是醉了, 因為時候剛到巳初 16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; 這正是先知約珥所說的 : 17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: 神說 : 在末後的日子, 我要將我的靈澆灌凡有血氣的 你們的兒女要說預言 ; 你們的少年人要見異象 ; 老年人要做異夢 18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy: 在那些日子, 我要將我的靈澆灌我的僕人和使女, 他們就要說預言 19 And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke: 在天上 我要顯出奇事 ; 在地下 我要顯出神蹟 ; 有血, 有火, 有煙霧 20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and notable day of the Lord come: 日頭要變為黑暗, 月亮要變為血 ; 這都在主大而明顯的日子未到以前 15

16 21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. 到那時候, 凡求告主名的, 就必得救 22 Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know: 以色列人哪, 請聽我的話 : 神藉著拿撒勒人耶穌在你們中間施行異能 奇事神蹟, 將他證明出來, 這是你們自己知道的 23 Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain: 他既按著神的定旨先見被交與人, 你們就藉著無法之人的手, 把他釘在十字架上, 殺了 24 Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it. 神卻將死的痛苦解釋了, 叫他復活, 因為他原不能被死拘禁 25 For David speaketh concerning him, I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved: 大衛指著他說 : 我看見主常在我眼前 ; 他在我右邊, 叫我不至於搖動 26 Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope: 所以, 我心裡歡喜, 我的靈 ( 原文是舌 ) 快樂 ; 並且我的肉身要安居在指望中 27 Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. 因你必不將我的靈魂撇在陰間, 也不叫你的聖者見朽壞 28 Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance. 你已將生命的道路指示我, 必叫我因見你的面 ( 或作 : 叫我在你面前 ) 得著滿足的快樂 29 Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day. 弟兄們! 先祖大衛的事, 我可以明明的對你們說 : 他死了, 也葬埋了, 並且他的墳墓直到今日還在我們這裡 30 Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne; 大衛既是先知, 又曉得神曾向他起誓, 要從他的後裔中立一位坐在他的寶座上, 31 He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption. 就預先看明這事, 講論基督復活說 : 他的靈魂不撇在陰間 ; 他的肉身也不見朽壞 32 This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses. 這耶穌, 神已經叫他復活了, 我們都為這事作見證 33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear. 他既被神的右手高舉 ( 或作 : 他既高舉在神的右邊 ), 又從父受了所應許的聖靈, 就把你們所看見所聽見的, 澆灌下來 34 For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, 大衛並沒有升到天上, 但自己說 : 主對我主說 : 你坐在我的右邊, 35 Until I make thy foes thy footstool. 等我使你仇敵作你的腳凳 36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made the same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ. 故此, 以色列全家當確實的知道, 你們釘在十字架上的這位耶穌, 神已經立他為主, 為基督了 37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? 16

17 眾人聽見這話, 覺得扎心, 就對彼得和其餘的使徒說 : 弟兄們, 我們當怎樣行? 38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. 彼得說 : 你們各人要悔改, 奉耶穌基督的名受洗, 叫你們的罪得赦, 就必領受所賜的聖靈 ; 39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the LORD our God shall call. 因為這應許是給你們和你們的兒女, 並一切在遠方的人, 就是主 我們神所召來的 40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward(unfavorable; Hard to control; refractory) generation. 彼得還用許多話作見證, 勸勉他們說 : 你們當救自己脫離這彎曲的世代 41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. 於是領受他話的人就受了洗 那一天, 門徒約添了三千人, 42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers 都恆心遵守使徒的教訓, 彼此交接, 擘餅, 祈禱 43 And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles. 眾人都懼怕 ; 使徒又行了許多奇事神蹟 44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common; 信的人都在一處, 凡物公用 ; 45 And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need. 並且賣了田產, 家業, 照各人所需用的分給各人 46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, 他們天天同心合意恆切的在殿裡, 且在家中擘餅, 存著歡喜 誠實的心用飯, 47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. 18 Saturday: 2 Corinthians 3 1 Do we begin again to commend ourselves? or need we, as some others, epistles of commendation to you, or letters of commendation from you? 我們豈是又舉薦自己麼? 豈像別人用人的薦信給你們或用你們的薦信給人麼? 2 Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men: 你們就是我們的薦信, 寫在我們的心裡, 被眾人所知道所念誦的 3 Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart. 你們明顯是基督的信, 藉著我們修成的 不是用墨寫的, 乃是用永生神的靈寫的 ; 不是寫在石版上, 乃是寫在心版上 4 And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward: 我們因基督, 所以在神面前才有這樣的信心 5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; 並不是我們憑自己能承擔甚麼事 ; 我們所能承擔的, 乃是出於神 6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life. 他叫我們能承當這新約的執事, 不是憑著字句, 乃是憑著精意 ; 因為那字句是叫人死, 精意 ( 或作 : 聖靈 ) 是叫人活 7 But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away: 那用字刻在石頭上屬死的職事尚且有榮光, 甚至以色列人因摩西面上的榮光, 不能定睛看他的臉 ; 這榮光原是漸漸退去的, 8 How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious? 何況那屬靈的職事豈不更有榮光麼? 9 For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory. 若是定罪的職事有榮光, 那稱義的職事榮光就越發大了 10 For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth. 那從前有榮光的, 因這極大的榮光就算不得有榮光了 ; 11 For if that which is done away was glorious, much more that which remaineth is glorious. 若那廢掉的有榮光, 這長存的就更有榮光了 12 Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech: 我們既有這樣的盼望, 就大膽講說, 13 And not as Moses, which put a veil over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished: (NLT)We are not like Moses, who put a veil over his face so the people of Israel would not see the glory, even though it was destined to fade away. 不像摩西將帕子蒙在臉上, 叫以色列人不能定睛看到那將廢者的結局 14 But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ. 但他們的心地剛硬, 直到今日誦讀舊約的時候, 這帕子還沒有揭去 這帕子在基督裡已經廢去了 15 But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart. 然而直到今日, 每逢誦讀摩西書的時候, 帕子還在他們心上 16 Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away. 但他們的心幾時歸向主, 帕子就幾時除去了 18

19 17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. 主就是那靈 ; 主的靈在那裡, 那裡就得以自由 18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. 我們眾人既然敞著臉得以看見主的榮光, 好像從鏡子裡返照, 就變成主的形狀, 榮上加榮, 如同從主的靈變成的 but our sufficiency is of God 2 Corinthians 3:5b Def Sufficient: 1. As much as is needed: enough; adequate; 2. Capable; competent; efficient; 3. means capable of fulfilling a need or requirement Prayer: Lord, please let me, at all times, see that You and You alone are cable of fulfilling a need or requirement. I m inadequate, but thou are capable. Praise the Lord! As Elvina Hall prayed in her hymn Jesus Paid It All, Lord, let it be my prayer too that I find in You my all in all (my sufficiency is of You). I hear the Savior say, Thy strength indeed is small, Child of weakness, watch and pray Find me Me thine all in all. Our sufficiency is of God Lord, now indeed I find Thy power and Thine alone Can change the leper s spots And melt the heart of stone. 19

20 Sunday: Hebrews 8 1 Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens; 我們所講的事, 其中第一要緊的, 就是我們有這樣的大祭司, 已經坐在天上至大者寶座的右邊, 2 A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man. 在聖所, 就是真帳幕裡, 作執事 ; 這帳幕是主所支的, 不是人所支的 3 For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer. 凡大祭司都是為獻禮物和祭物設立的, 所以這位大祭司也必須有所獻的 4 For if he were on earth, he should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law: 他若在地上, 必不得為祭司, 因為已經有照律法獻禮物的祭司 5 Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount. 他們供奉的事本是天上事的形狀和影像, 正如摩西將要造帳幕的時候, 蒙神警戒他, 說 : 你要謹慎, 作各樣的物件都要照著在山上指示你的樣式 6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises. 如今耶穌所得的職任是更美的, 正如他作更美之約的中保 ; 這約原是憑更美之應許立的 7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second. 那前約若沒有瑕疵, 就無處尋求後約了 8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah: 所以主指責他的百姓說 ( 或作 : 所以主指前約的缺欠說 ) : 日子將到, 我要與以色列家和猶大家另立新約, 9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord. 不像我拉著他們祖宗的手, 領他們出埃及的時候, 與他們所立的約 因為他們不恆心守我的約, 我也不理他們 這是主說的 10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: 主又說 : 那些日子以後, 我與以色列家所立的約乃是這樣 : 我要將我的律法放在他們裡面, 寫在他們心上 ; 我要作他們的神 ; 他們要作我的子民 11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest. 他們不用各人教導自己的鄉鄰和自己的弟兄, 說 : 你該認識主 ; 因為他們從最小的到至大的, 都必認識我 12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more. 我要寬恕他們的不義, 不再記念他們的罪愆 13 In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old.
