Maximum time to complete degree programs: 修業年限 : Bachelor s degree: The maximum time to complete TMU degree programs are: M.D. programs, 6 years; D.D.S. program, 6 years; all other undergraduate programs, 4 years. Students may request a maximum 2 years of extension. Terms spent on approved leave will not be counted as terms of enrollment. 大學部修業年限 : 醫學系修業年限六年, 牙醫學系修業年限六年, 其餘各學系均為四年, 得延長修業年限, 以二年為限 C. Qualifications for application: Applicants must meet the following qualifications and requirements of each school. 申請資格 : 申請人必須符合下列規定以及各學系之入學標準 1. Eligibility: 身分規定 : An individual who meets the following qualification is qualified to apply for admission under MOE Regulations Regarding International Students Undertaking Studies in Taiwan. 符合以下資格者, 得依教育部外國學生來臺就學辦法申請入學 (1) An individual of foreign nationality, who has never held Republic of China (R.O.C.) citizenship and who does not possess an Overseas Chinese student status at the time of his/her application is qualified to apply. 具外國國籍且未曾具有中華民國國籍, 於申請時並不具僑生資格者 (2) An individual of foreign nationality, pursuant to the following requirements i.e., who has resided overseas continuously for no less than 6 years. However, those who apply for medical or dental studies must have resided overseas continuously for at least 8 years. The six year calculation period as prescribed shall be calculated to the starting date of the semester (Feb.1st or Aug.1st). The term overseas as prescribed is limited to countries or regions other than Mainland China. Hong Kong and Macau; the term reside overseas continuously means that an individual may stay in Taiwan for no more than a total of 120 days per calendar year. 具外國國籍且符合下列規定, 並於申請時已連續居留海外六年 ( 申請醫 牙學系需滿八年 ) 以上 所定六年, 以擬入學當學期起始日期 ( 二月一日或八月一日 ) 為終日計算之 所稱海外, 指大陸地區 香港及澳門以外國家或地區 ; 所稱連續居留, 指外國學生每曆年在國內停留期間未逾一百二十日 a. An individual who is also a citizen of the R.O.C., but does not hold nor has had a household registration in Taiwan is qualified to apply for admission. 申請時, 兼具中華民國國籍者, 應自始未曾在臺設有戶籍 - 1 -

An individual who was a national of the R.O.C., but had his citizenship nullified at the time of his/her application shall have an annulled status for more than 8 years as certified by Ministry of the Interior. 申請前曾兼具中華民國國籍, 於申請時已不具中華民國國籍者, 應自內政部許可喪失中華民國國籍之日起至申請時已滿八年 c. Regarding individuals mentioned in the preceding 2 subparagraphs, they must not have studied in Taiwan as an Overseas Chinese student nor received placement permission during the same year of the application by the University Entrance Committee for Overseas Chinese Students. 前兩款均未曾以僑生身分在臺就學, 且未於當學年度接受海外聯合招生委員會分發 (3) An applicant of foreign nationality, concurrently holding a permanent residence status in Hong Kong or Macao, having no history of a household registration record in Taiwan and, at the time of application, who has resided in Hong Kong, Macao, or another foreign country continuously for no less than 6 years (8 years for those seeking training in medicine and dentistry) are qualified for admission. The term reside overseas continuously mentioned in the preceding paragraph means that an individual may had stayed in Taiwan previously for no more than a total of 120 days per calendar year. 具外國國籍, 兼具香港 澳門永久居留資格, 且未曾在臺設有戶籍, 申請時於香港 澳門或海外連續居留滿六年 ( 申請醫 牙學系需滿八年 ) 以上 所稱連續居留, 指每曆年在國內停留期間, 合計未逾一百二十日 (4) An applicant who was a former citizen of Mainland China and holds a foreign nationality, having no history of household registration record in Taiwan, and at the time of application, who has resided overseas continuously for no less than 6 years (8 years for those seeking training in medicine and dentistry) are qualified for admission. The term reside overseas continuously means that an individual may have stayed in Taiwan for no more than a total of 120 days per calendar year. 曾為大陸地區人民具外國國籍且未曾在臺設有戶籍, 申請時已連續居留海外六年 ( 申請醫 牙學系需滿八年 ) 以上 所稱連續居留, 指每曆年在國內停留期間, 合計未逾一百二十日 2. Educational eligibility: Applicants who have graduated from or are in their senior year of studies at high schools abroad accredited by Taiwan s Ministry of Education are eligible to apply. Applicants who have graduated from international high schools or high schools with bilingual departments in Taiwan also are eligible to apply (including high school seniors). 學歷規定 : 中華民國 ( 臺灣 ) 教育部認可之外國高中以上或在我國就讀外國僑民學校或高級中等學校附設雙語部 ( 班 ) 之畢業者 ( 含高中應屆畢業生 ) 3. As announced by the Taiwan Representative Office in Vietnam, Vietnamese applicants should provide language certification for admission to degree programs for Taiwan visa. Please refer to: 越南籍學生申請簽證來臺留學, 均須提交基本外語能力證明 ( 依據駐胡志明市臺北經濟文化辦事處 101 年 9 月 10 日胡志 (101) 字第 號函辦理 ), 相關規定詳見 : 4. Related enrollment regulations must comply with the International Students Studying in Taiwan regulations from the Ministry of Education and with other regulations. 相關入學辦法須符合教育部外國學生來臺就學辦法及相關規定辦理 - 2 -

4 D. Documents required: As each school requires different documents, applicants shall meet all program-specific requirements for these. Documents in languages other than English or Chinese must be translated into English or Chinese to be reviewed. If an interview is required, the applicant will be notified via or phone call of the time and date. Admission quota of undergraduate program: 20. The final number of admission offers will be determined by the Ministry of Education. 學士班招生名額 :20 名 實際招生名額依教育部核定名額為主 I. Admission placements are based on student preferences: 分發方式說明 : 1. Students may apply for up to three programs. Those applying for multiple programs must rank these programs in order of preference. 外國學生報名時每人可申請三系所, 需同時填寫志願順序, 錄取分發時則按照志願順序進行分發 2. Each applicant can be admitted to one program only. Once admitted, their applications to other TMU program(s) will not be considered. 每位學生僅能正取一系所, 獲錄取後, 原填寫之其他志願則不進行分發或列為備取 3. If an applicant is placed on waiting lists for multiple programs and is accepted by a program, they will be dropped from other waiting lists. 若學生三志願皆為備取, 俟一系所遞補成功, 錄取後, 則其他備取系所即喪失資格, 不得重覆錄取 - 3 -

5 J. Notification and requirements after acceptance: 錄取後應繳交文件及注意事項 : 1. Accepted students must present diplomas and transcripts during the registration process. All submitted documents must valid; if any document is found to be invalid, the student will automatically be disqualified from enrollment. 攜帶畢業證書正本供註冊組查驗, 所繳交之資料須為真實, 日後發現學歷造假, 將無條件取消學籍 2. Students who are not awarded tuition waivers and monthly stipend scholarships will need to provide proof of financial support (US$15,000 or equivalent amount) in a document stamped, sealed, and mailed by a bank. Failure to provide proof will be cause for terminating the admission. 未獲全額獎學金 ( 含學雜費及生活費 ) 者, 須繳交由當地金融機構提出 ( 密封逕寄本校 ) 足夠在臺就學之財力證明, 美金 15,000 元 逾期未繳交者, 視同放棄入學 3. All new students who cannot provide proof of six months of overseas medical insurance at the beginning of their stay in Taiwan may purchase this at time of registration for US$ 100. 經本校核准入學者, 註冊時應繳交自入境日起,6 個月有效之海外醫療保險 ( 給付地點須包含臺灣發生之醫療支出 ) 未投保者將強制加入僑生醫療保險, 保險費 ( 約美金 100 元 ) 於註冊時繳交 4. International students arriving at TMU after one-third of the semester has passed will not be allowed to register. 到校時已逾學期三分之一者, 當學期不得入學 5. If an international student has been expelled from a Taiwan educational institution for having failed morality or conduct evaluations, for having failed academically, or for being sentenced in a criminal case, he/she may not apply for enrollment according to the rules and regulations listed here. 外國學生經入學學校以操行 學業成績不及格或因犯刑事案件經判刑確定致遭退學者, 不得再依本辦法申請入學 6. Students who graduated in the grade year equivalent to the second grade of senior high schools in Taiwan are eligible to apply for admission; however, they are required to take 20 additional credits to graduate. 畢業年級相當於國內高級中等學校二年級之國外或香港 澳門同級同類學校畢業生 ( 如中五生 持 SPM 文憑學生 ), 得以同等學歷報考大學學士班一年級, 但入學後需依本校各學系規定加修 20 學分始得畢業 7. All courses listed in this brochure are taught in Chinese and all exams must be written in Chinese (except for English classes). Some courses use textbooks written in English. 簡章所列之全部學系皆為中文授課, 大 小考試除英文課外, 皆須以中文作答 ; 部分學系使用英文教科書 8. Academic degree conferment will be based on Ministry of Education regulations. 各系所畢業學位授予 : 以教育部核定為準 9. No application documents shall be returned for any reason. Admission requirements for schools and graduate institutes: 各學系招生規定 : School of Medicine 醫學系 For applicants who have graduated from high school, an overall average of 80 or above (on a scale) or a 3.2 GPA or above (on a 4.0 scale) is required and an average of 80 or above (on a scale) or a 3.2 GPA or above (on a 4.0 scale) is required for courses taken in biology, chemistry, physics. For applicants in their final semester, grades received in the final semester are not required at the time of application. 教育部認可之外國高中以上或在我國就讀外國僑民學校或高級中等學校附設雙語部 ( 班 ) 之畢業者 ( 含高中應屆畢業生 ) 高中全部學期平均或畢業總平均 80 分或 GPA 達 3.2( 含 4.0 指標 ), 生物 物理及化學平均達 80 分以上 ( 應屆畢業生不需繳交最後一學期之成績 ) 1. Document review (50%) 文件審查 (50%) 2. Face-to-face interview (50%) 來校面試 (50%) Applicants who pass Chinese proficiency tests at advanced levels or have been educated in Chinese for more than 6 years are preferred. 通過華語文能力測驗高級以上或接受華語文教育 6 年以上者將優先考慮 previous two months If applicable, TMU may ask the applicant to provide a photocopy of the Forfeited Nationality Permit Certificate issued by the Ministry of the Interior, the Certificate of Entry and Exit Dates issued by National Immigration Agency, or other official certificates. 4. One photocopy of applicant s diploma or certification of highest-level of academic attainment and transcripts (see Section C, Qualifications for Application, 2 Education eligibility). 5. Statement of purpose written in Chinese and English. 6. Resume written in Chinese and English. 7. Failure to prepare the required documents within the mentioned period will result in the loss of admission eligibility. 以上文件於文件審查期間仍未能備齊者, 則取消申請資格 8. Supporting materials (if applicable), such as curriculum vitae, college admission test (SAT, ACT, MCAT, etc.), Chinese proficiency test, professional licenses, publications or awards.
