3 What is RDA? 中譯 : 資源描述與檢索. 一套提供建構詮釋資料以支援資源發現的標準或指引新的 user-focus 內容標準僅涉及詮釋資料內容的記載 (recording); 無關及編碼 (encoding) 與展示 (display) 適用於任何資料庫結構, 不限用於 MARC 在新編碼標準發展之前, 暫時繼續使用 MARC21 建立書目及權威資料 3

4 RDA 的發展背景傳統編目規則的不足早期規則出自目錄卡片的書目紀錄模式編目環境不同網際網路的衝擊 Web-based; 資料全球性取用及分享媒體格式日趨多元化除紙本圖書以外, 新增資訊內容及載體呈現多元化複雜化, 例如 Blu-Rays CD DVD ebooks ejournals MP3 Internet Resources Streaming videos 等等圖書館經費減縮經濟壓力迫使圖書館進行更多的 minimal level 編目, 以因應出版品的大量成長使用者的期望及需求異於往日圖書館必須更有效地回應國際圖書館協會聯盟 (IFLA) 對國際書目控制的努力 4

5 IFLA 與國際書目控制 (UBC) 國際圖書館協會聯盟 The International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) 國際書目控制 (Universal Bibliographic Control, UBC) 90 年代,IFLA 重新檢視早期的編目原則, 先後推出新標準, 成為後來 RDA 的概念基礎, 包括 : ICP 國際編目原則及 FRBR/FRAD/FRSAD 等概念模式 5

22 RDA 簡史 2004 年 JSC 開始修訂 AACR2R 為 AACR 年轉向 RDA 2007 年 RDA 草案新結構更緊密遵循 FR family models 2008 年 11 月 RDA 完整草案推出並徵求意見 2010 年 6 月線上版 RDA Toolkit( 工具套件 ) 出版 2010 年末美國數個國家圖書館及 PCC 進行測試 RDA 2011 年六月發布 RDA 測試結果 LC 宣佈 2013/3/31 為 Day one 2013/3/31 之後, 宣稱使用 RDA 的國家圖書館包括 UK,Canada, Australia, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Philippines, Scotland (2014), Finland (2015) 等等 22

23 3/31/2013 為 Day one 的涵義 LC/NACO 權威檔中所有新的權威記錄要求以 RDA 建立 PCC 紀錄要求採 RDA 檢索點, 但書目著錄沒有強制, 可能有的採 RDA, 有的採 AACR2 Hybrid catalogue 同一目錄有 RDA 紀錄及 AACR2 紀錄 Hybrid record 同一紀錄有 RDA 檢索點及 AACR2 書目著錄將影響權威工作及抄編 23

41 RDA 核心元素以 FRBR 國別層次書目紀錄必備識別用屬性為基礎 RDA 核心元素有兩種 : Core element: 只要出現在資源上, 必須著錄 Core if: 條件式, 視情況而定 LC Core+ = RDA core list + LC 通常所包含之其他元素 LC Core+ 之外 : 編目員自行判斷 RDA Core 集中出現於 RDA 0.6 ; 或分開出現於各章 41

55 關係標示 Relationship designators 指出關係類型的用詞, 例如 : author, composer, editor, sequel to, translation of 等等 RDA 附錄 I J K 有其定義並非 closed lists. 附錄 I: 資訊資源與有關的個人家族及團體之間附錄 J: 資訊資源之間附錄 K: 個人家族及團體之間關係標示在 RDA 並非 Core. 並非每一可能的 role 皆包含在附錄 I-K 之內. 55

61 RDA 將取代傳統規則 RDA 提供新的編目指引重新思考編目理論及實務而設計於與現有紀錄相容以國際編目原則模式及標準為基礎架構具一致性彈性及延展性, 可描述所有類型的資源支持更靈活的目錄形式, 對檢索結果的呈現更為重視 (clustering ) 以電腦易於使用的方式記載資料 (More machine actionable) 書目資訊切割成定義清楚的元素集, 數據資料適用於網路環境並且易於由機器操作 (Computer friendly) 61
