The heavy metals may restrain the biology from growing due to their toxicity, and the nutrient elements in the rainwater greatly increase the marine primary production in a short time. Based on 55 references, this paper introduces the characteristics of atmospheric dry and wet deposition for nutrient elements and heavy metals, including the concentrations, sources and variation with time and space, and makes a relatively systematic summary and comment on the impact on marine ecosystem by these trace speciesand also discusses somehot spots in this field.
