Since the occurrence of this eventthe large-scale involvementofthemediahaspresentedtheinherenttensionofpoliciestothe publicandthedemolition-resistantfamilies(whodonotwanttomove)have takenthepoliticalopportunitytoinnovatecontentiousperformancespushingit towardits extremity and turning the event of Yihuanginto a part ofa professionalsocialmovementtobringaboutinstitutionalchangesandprotect the vulnerable groups interests. Thusthe event of Yihuang becomes cosmopolitanmodularandautonomous.afterthelocalgovernmentfulymet the demands of the demolition-resistant familiesthe event of Yihuang demobilizedessentialyduetothecompetitionbetweenthecontentiousfamilies andthe mediaratherthaninappropriateinstitutionalization.obviouslythe media were notsuccessfulin achievingtheircontention objectsrelatedto institutionalchangesbecauseoftheexistenceoftheinstitutionalfundamentals thatledtotheeventofyihuang.thedemolitionsystemandthepetitionsystem aretypicallowfunctionalsystemsincapableofregulatingtheopportunistic behaviorsofthelocalgovernments or controling the demolition-resistant families opportunisticviolenceaimingforbenefits.aftertheconclusionofthe Yihuangeventthesamepoliticalstructureofopportunitiesstilexist.
