View snow-topped mountains, the turquoise blue lake, and beautiful Church of the Good Shepherd. Continue to Lake Pukaki. View Mt Cook from the Lake Pukaki Information Centre. Visit Mt Cook Village for salmon tasting (50g) per person. Upon arrival at Queenstown, take a scenic ride on the Skyline Gondola to the Skyline Restaurant. Enjoy the famous Taste of New Zealand buffet which offers delectable fresh seafood, salads, roast meats and delicious desserts while enjoying the panoramic view of Lake Wakatipu. Day 5 Queenstown (B/L/D) View Lake Wakatipu before departing for Arrowtown. Upon arrival, take some photos of restored cottages built during the Gold Rush period along the tree-lined streets. View the world s first bungy site above the Kawarau River. Wine Cave tour with wine tasting at Gibbston Valley. After lunch, free at leisure. Day 6 Queenstown - Omarama - Christchurch (B/L/D) Depart for Christchurch. En route, stop by at Cromwell for Mrs. Jones Orchard tour and experience fruit picking. Visit Mrs. Jones Fruit Shop and pick up 1KG of seasonal fruit per person. NOTE: fruit picking is seasonal - from LATE NOVEMBER TO APRIL only. Continue journey to Christchurch. En route stop at Omarama for a BBQ buffet lunch. Arrive Christchurch. Check in to hotel after dinner. Day 4 Queenstown - Te Anau - Milford Sound - Queenstown (B/L/D) Depart for Te Anau, the base from which to explore the spectacular Fiordland National Park. Photo stop at Mirror Lakes. Continue on through the breathtaking man-made Homer Tunnel. At Milford Sound, take a scenic cruise through the incredible Milford Sound fiord. Enjoy a buffet lunch on board. Depart for Queenstown after the cruise. Upon arrival, have dinner before returning to the hotel. Day 7 Christchurch - Kaikoura - Picton (B/L/D) Coach transfer to Kaikoura, a base for wildlife experiences, and a great place to eat crayfish (in Maori kai means food and koura means crayfish). Board a cruise to find sperm whales, the largest of the toothed whales. Kaikoura is one of the few places in the world where sperm whales can be easily seen all year round. Killer whales (December- March), humpback whales (June-July), and dolphins (daily) may also be sighted. After the cruise, enjoy half a crayfish (small lobster) for lunch. Depart to Picton for overnight accommodation. Day 8 Picton - Wellington (B/D) Transfer to the Interislander Ferry Port after breakfast. Take the Interislander Ferry to Wellington. Upon arrival, proceed for a brief Wellington city tour to view Te Papa Museum, Parliament Building, Oriental Parade and Lambton Quay. Enjoy a western set dinner before hotel check-in. Day 9 Wellington - Rotorua (B/D) Depart for Rotorua. En route stop by Taupo for a city tour: Lake Taupo Lakefront, Waiwera Power Station and Huka Falls. Upon arrival at Rotorua, check in to hotel. Enjoy an authentic traditional Maori experience in the evening at Mitai Maori Village and see glow worms in their natural habitat.
