PAOC Ka Chi Secondary School 加拿大神召會嘉智中學 School Circular No.24 (2014-2015) 家長通告第二十四號 (2014 至 2015 年度 ) F6 DSE Mock Examination 中六模擬文憑試 Dear Parents, 9 January 2015 The Form 6 Diploma of Secondary Education Mock Examination will be held from 3 February 2015 (Tuesday) to 13 February 2015 (Friday). Before this, the school time for F6 is from 08:30 to 15:30 from 2 January to 2 February 2015. Please find attached herewith the mock examination schedule and regulations for your reference, and please urge your children to work hard for the exam and strive for better performance. Below are some issues to be noted: (1) The mock examination will be postponed to the following day if there is a clash with school suspension announcement by the Education Bureau. Other details will be notified separately. (2) If a student suffers from any sickness and should be absent from the examination, effective medical certificate has to be submitted to the General Office upon returning to school in the morning for re-exam application. (3) During the mock examination, Class Self-discipline Plan will be suspended. Students will only be allowed to enter the examination hall/venue at 08:15. (4) Students must arrive at school before 08:15 or will be deemed late. (5) The school ending time during the mock examination will be different from the normal one. (6) Students are suggested to fully utilize the Lunar New Year holiday to equip themselves for the coming DSE exam. (7) F.6 students are required to come to school from 2 to 4 March 2015 as normal (from 08:30 to 15:30) for exam paper checking. (8) The study leave starts from 5 March 2015. Teachers may arrange post-mock examinations or revision classes for the F6 students in the interim. Student Memorandum The Opening Hours of Study Rooms To encourage students to study at school during the mock examination period, the opening hours of the study rooms are scheduled as follows: Study rooms Opening hours Library 08:30 18:30 Multipurpose Room 17:45 20:00 520, 521 17:00 20:00 The Examination Regulations: 1. All school bags, textbooks, notes or handouts, etc. must be placed in designated areas. Students should bring to their seats only the stationery needed. Students must not share stationery in the process of examination or will be regarded as cheating. 2. Students must not open and read the examination paper without instructions from the invigilating teachers. When end of examination has been announced, students must stop writing. 3. Students may raise their hands and ask questions if the printing of the examination paper is unclear. Other inquiries related to the content of examination questions cannot be asked. 4. When the examination is in progress, students are not allowed to talk or leave their seats. 5. Students must leave the examination room quietly after the end of examination. Students should not stay in the corridors. 6. If a student is unable to attend a scheduled examination due to illness or emergency situation, he/she must sit for a make-up examination immediately after the resumption of school. 20% of the marks will be deducted for the make-up examination. 7. Absentees from examination should present a written application of the parents or guardians to the General Office to process the formalities. Application for absence due to illness, should be accompanied by an effective medical certificate, and presented to the school office in the morning when resuming class so as to arrange for the make-up examination. Absence due to emergency situations should be applied in writing at least 3 working days prior to the scheduled examination to the Academic Affairs Coordinator. Approval will be notified through the teacher concerned. 8. The examination will be postponed to the following day if there is a clash with school suspension announcement by the Education Bureau. Other details will be notified separately. 9. Cribbing or cheating will be penalized with disqualification from the examination and minor demerits. 10. The school adopts the computerized scanning system for marking multiple choice questions. Students should use HB pencils to answer such questions or 10% of the marks will be deducted.
