GS-83 GS-83 is an important member of the high chromium stainless tool steel, and was produced by the electro-slag remelting process with high purity and homogeneity structure. For GS-83, after heat-treatment, the application hardness is from 46 HRC to 48 HRC. GS-136, the application hardness is 48 HRC to 52 HRC. For extra high polish, we can supply GS-136 materials, with improved micro-structure and chemical composition. Polishability Even though GS-136 materials have high polishability properties, attention should be made to the correct method of processing to achieve the result anticipated. 136 - High intensity EDM process will usually damage the materials surface, and the white layer on the surface should be removed by either mechanical means or by fine EDM to ensure an uniform materials structure before polishing. - Proper heat treatment process should be carried out to achieve a fine grain structure with minimum retained austenite.hardness after heat treatment should be above 52 HRC and hardness deviation on the surface should be kept to below ±1 HRC. 52HRC - Polishing should be done with sufficient lubricant and time to be kept at short intervals to avoid over polishing. upto grain size 32 polishing stone upto grain size 8 polishing powder upto 1 ìm diamond paste???
