Abstract At the beginning, the patient s oral condition was as follow: The maxillary arch, #24 was missing, in the mandibular arch, the remaining teeth were 4 teeth left(#33, #34, #43, #44)due to caries and periodontal disease. The residual roots were #22, #26, #44. According to our radiograph, endodontic therapy in some teeth were incompleted and some teeth were also need endodontic treatment(#15, #14, #13, #23, #24). The procedures of the treatment were that we removed all ill-fitted crown and bridge(#16, #15, #13, #11, #21, #22, #23, #24) and extracted all the hopeless or poor prognosis teeth(#16, #21, #22, #26, #43, #44 ). Provisional fixed partial denture and removable partial denture were made to provide a stable occlusion and esthetic of this patient. Then periodontal therapy, caries control and endodontic treatment were performed. At last, the two remaining teeth of the lower arch(#33, #34) were extracted for poor prognosis. Finally, the dentition of the patient revealed some missing teeth in upper arch and edentulous in the lower arch. This results in upper fixed partial denture occluding lower full complete denture. For this reason, we 4
fabricate fixed partial dentures in the upper arch and implant-retained overdenture in the lower arch to offer enough lip and facial support to give satisfaction to our patient. By the principles as mentioned above, the definite prostheses is well-acceptable. After function, no any discomfort are complained, and she fell satisfied.
