The result s by light micro scop y showed t hat t he digestive system consisted of digestive tract and hepatopancreas. The wall of t he digestive tract consisted of mucous layer, connective tissue, muscular layer and outer membrane. There was chitin in t he surface of mucous layer ex2 cept t he mid2gut. There were glands in t he t unica submuco sa of esop hagus, mid2gut and hindgut. The muscular coat of t he whole digestive tract wall consisted of striated muscle and it s arrangement was loose. The small blind t ubules of hepatopancreas were f unctional and struct ural unit s in the hepatopancreas which were t he main digestive glands. These cells could be divided into four types : B2cell, F2cell, R2cell and E2 cell. The ultrastruct ural characteristics from SEM observation were showed that t he multipolar folds and ridges in t he surface of epithelium mucosa of each segment of t he digestive tract wall took shape into differ2 ent2sized and polymorp holo gic multigrade wrinkles which co uld add t he absorptive area and co nt ractive f unction. The vertical wrinkles especially t he transverse wrinkles on t hem were remarkable in t he whole intestines. The developed lamina cilia in the surface of epithelium mucosa of t he whole digestive tract ex2 cept midgut and intestinal bulb could p ush t he food forward and promote digestion, and t he microvilli in t he midgut and intestinal bulb could increase the surface area of absorption.
