11 0 6 No. 0 Vol. 6 ABSTRACTS Liang Qichao and Thesaurus of Chinese Books Xia Xiaohong Compiled since January 97 Thesaurus of Chinese Books was the last great work of Liang Qichao. The compilation of this book was related with two aims one was to construct Chinese library science the other was to train the supervisors of libraries when the Chinese Libraries Association was founded in 95. As the chief librarian of Beijing Library and the advisor of Chinese Traditional Culture Department of Tsinghua University Liang Qichao together with his students made some new attempts based on the original sort of the Four Sections of Books. The work trained some qualified personnel for the development of Chinese libraries and some successful scholars although it was not completed because Liang Qichao suddenly died in January 99. The Modernization of Tsinghua and the Transfermation of Modern China Intelligentsia Liu Chao During the Republic of China era Tsinghua was an emerging top university in China. Whereas it was just a preparatory college for the US s university up to 95. Once Nanking GMT Administration founded all aspects endeavoured to establish a series of outstanding universities in order to adapt the surging National-state appeals. Consequently Tsinghua a previously preparatory college came from behind and became a paradigm of these booming universities. In the first half of 0th century they ascendeded into top universities in the Far East and standed for the Summit of undeveloped countires nay they made a significant contribution to both Modern China and Contemporatory China. Tsinghua School in the History of Modern Chinese Literary Criticism Zhang Liqin Around 930 the literary criticism about a group of intellectuals in the institutes with a background in Europe and United States was very active and flourishing. From Yeh Kung-chao and two magazines of Xin-yue Xue-wen edited by him the author looks for some internal links and common features of them and analyzes the possibility of formation limitation and significance a- bout Tsinghua School in the history of modern literary criticism. Furthermore author clarifies the overall character of the school and the unique style of the critics. Investigations on the Tools of China s Development Miracle Approaches Based on the Transition of Five-Year Plan from Sixth-Five to Eleventh-Five Hu Angang Yan Yilong Lü Jie Since the economic reform in 978 China did not withdraw the Five-Year Plan as the planning tools but made a self-reform and self-transition. The planning had been changed from command-planning to strategic planning the contents were from simple e- conomic planning to comprehensive development planning the areas were from the micro to macro the indicators were from economic to public the decisions were made by from few people to collective. Five-Year Plan had become an important tool of China s development miracle by offering the public services orienting the development modes promoting the economic growth and reducing the economic fluctuations. The key is to use it if works not to use it if not works and continue to explore the most suitable mode for China s own development. Comparative Studies of New Development Outlook Between Contemporary China and the West Liu Xingang There are many problems of development over around the world such as a widening gap between the rich and the poor environmental deterioration and exhausted resources. Both China and western countries seek to solve the problems of development and put forward the corresponding outlook of development.
