7 P5 ENGLISH PAPER 1 WRITING Part 1 Situational Writing (15 marks) Part 2 Continuous Writing (40 marks)

8 PART 1 SITUATIONAL WRITING Pupils are required to produce a texttype other than a narrative. e.g. formal or letter, informal or letter, postcard, diary entry, etc. Question consists of: i. a stimulus e.g. series of pictures, a flyer, an advertisement, etc. ii. key points or information that must be included

9 PART 2 CONTINUOUS WRITING Pupils are required to write a composition based on a given topic. Question consists of: a given topic - e.g. an accomplishment, a disappointment, etc. 3 pictures - these are provided to help pupils think about the topic - at least one of the pictures must be used in the composition guiding questions

12 P5 ENGLISH PAPER 3 LISTENING COMPREHENSION Pupils are required to listen to a few texts and answer multiple-choice questions (MCQ) based on the texts. Paper consists of 20 MCQ (20 marks). Only the texts and the questions will be read out to the pupils. The options will not be read out.

15 PART 2 STIMULUS-BASED CONVERSATION Pupils are required to engage in a conversation around a given stimulus e.g. a flyer, an advertisement, a menu, etc. Pupils need to : i. give and develop their responses ii. speak in accurate sentence structures iii. use appropriate vocabulary iv. engage in a conversation; not merely answering questions

31 EXAMINATION FORMAT The examination consists of two written papers comprising three booklets. Mathematics & Foundation Mathematics Both papers will be scheduled on the same day with a break between the two papers. Paper 1 comprises of two booklets (A and B). The use of calculators is not allowed. Paper 2 comprises of one booklet. The use of calculators is allowed.
