簡介 Introduction WWW.NA.CUHK.EDU.HK 新亞書院 錢穆先生於一九四九年創辦新亞書院, 以溝通東西文化, 為人類和平 社會幸福謀前途 一九六三年, 新亞成為香港中文大學其中一所成員書院 書院自創校以來一直在中國文化研究上有著領先地位, 通過舉辦文化講座 研討會, 並出版學術刊物, 讓中國文化得以承傳 書院亦通過舉辦交換生及交流 語文提升 領袖培訓及暑期實習計劃等, 讓學生達致全人發展 New Asia College Founded in 1949 by Mr. Ch ien Mu, New Asia College aims to facilitate cultural exchanges between East and West, and promote peace and well-being of the human race. In 1963, the College became one of the constituent colleges of The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Since its establishment, the College is always in a leading position in research in Chinese culture. The College actively promotes Chinese culture by organizing cultural talks and seminars, and publishing academic journals. To promote all-rounded development, the College provides students with numerous outside-classroom learning opportunities, such as exchange, language enhancement, leadership development and summer internship.
校訓 : 誠明 誠明二字見於中庸 中庸指 : 誠者, 天之道也 誠之者, 人之道也 又指 : 自誠明, 謂之性 自明誠, 謂之教 誠則明矣, 明則誠矣 誠是德性行為方面的 ; 明是知識暸解方面的 誠是一項實事, 一項真理 ; 明是一番知識, 一番暸解 College Motto: Sincerity and Intelligence The Chinese characters cheng ("Sincerity") and ming ("Intelligence") come from Zhongyong ("The Doctrine of the Mean"), which says, "Sincerity is the way of Heaven; behaving with sincerity is the way of men", and "Intelligence derived from sincerity is nature. Sincerity derived from intelligence is instruction. Given sincerity, there shall be intelligence; given intelligence, there shall be sincerity." "Sincerity" is concerned with ethics and behaviour, and "Intelligence" is in the realm of knowledge and awareness. "Sincerity" is tantamount to reality and truth, and "Intelligence", learning and understanding. 院長 新亞書院院長信廣來教授為香港中文大學哲學系哲學講座教授 冼為堅中國文化講座教授, 以及中國文化研究所所長 College Head Professor Shun Kwong-loi is the Head of New Asia College. He is currently Chair Professor of Philosophy and Sin Wai Kin Professor of Chinese Culture of the Department of Philosophy, and the Director of Institute of Chinese Studies of The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
住宿及地標 Accomodation and Landmarks 學生宿舍 Student Hostels 新亞書院設有四所宿舍, 共提供宿位 1,165 個 新亞書院特設 三年一宿 入宿制度, 讓更多同學有機會體驗宿舍生活 書院現正籌備興建第五所學生宿舍 新宿舍建成後可提供 300 個宿位 The four student hostels at New Asia College can accommodate up to 1,165 students. The College implements the Guaranteed One-year Residence Scheme so that every student has a chance to experience hostel life. 獎學金及經濟資助 Scholarships and Financial Aids Each year, New Asia College offers about 150 scholarships to over 300 students. Each scholarship amounts from HK$1,000 to HK$100,000. The College has been offering a wide range of College scholarships to students who achieve outstanding academic performance, actively participate in community service or student activities, demonstrate leadership potentials, participate in overseas exchange, or show significant improvement in their studies. To subsidize students who take part in overseas academic/cultural visits, internship or learning programmes during summer vacation. To support teaching and administrative staff in carrying out their projects. Participating students may gain service experience which is valuable to their future career. To provide financial assistance to needy students who suffer from acute personal or family hardship.

Students are required to take 6 units of General Education courses before graduation. 校友 Alumni 學長計劃 新亞書院視校友為書院重要成員 書院每年定期舉辦校友重聚活動, 致力與校友保持密切聯繫 書院於 2000 年成立學長計劃, 至今已有超過 560 位校友及 1,200 位學生參與本計劃 讓學員在課堂以外, 向來自不同專業 走在人生不同階段的學長學習 學長藉參與本計劃亦可回饋母校, 為學生樹立良好榜樣, 協助學生訂立並實踐他們的人生目標 Mentorship Programme New Asia College regards alumni as our strongest support network. Alumni reunions and homecomings are organized on a regular basis. Established in 2000, the Mentorship Programme of New Asia College was participated by more than 560 alumni mentors and 1,200 student mentees. Mentees have the chance to look beyond the classroom and learn from mentors who are professionals and experts from different walks of life. The Programme also allows our alumni mentors to give back to their alma mater by serving as role models and leaders who can help this generation of students to pave way to reach their goals. 新亞書院是香港中文大學唯一一所將每位校友芳名刻在牆上作為紀念的書院 不少校友經常回來圓形廣場參觀留念 Since its establishment, it is the College's unique tradition to embed every alumnu's name on the wall of our landmark New Asia Concourse.
