The sp irit of Chinese Soviet A reas is the contin2 uation and development of the sp irit of J inggang shan, and it is a new development stage of the sp irit of J inggangs2 han. The inheriting relations between them m ainly disp lay in the follow ing four aspects: 1) the establishment of the Party s absolute leadership over the army and the formulation of the sp irit to construct the Party emphatically on the thought; 2) the formulation of the Three Main Duties and Three D iscip lines and Eight Points for A ttention of the worker and peasant revolutionary army to the sp irit of wholeheartedly seeking benefit for the masses, concern2 ing the masses life, paying attention to work method, and being close to the masses; 3) the formation of the red political power theory to the sp irit of thorough investigation and starting from reality; and 4) living dependently on red rice and pumpkin soup to the sp irit of relying on one s own effort to revive arduous struggle.
