4 3.1 統計表與統計圖目的以有系統, 有條理的方法, 表現出資料的主要內容及特性, 使讀者能一目瞭然, 以提供有意義及有用的資訊, 協助其了解問題. 統計表將蒐集得到的資料整理成表格的形式, 並以文字或數字的形式表現出來, 即是所謂的統計表統計圖將資料以點線面體等圖形為主, 以文字數字為輔的表現方式即為統計圖意即利用點的多寡, 線的長短粗細起伏趨勢, 面積與體積的大小, 顏色深淺來表示資料的特性者稱之為統計圖 4

5 3.1.1 統計表意義 : 將蒐集得到的資料整理成表格的形式, 並以文字或數字的形式表現出來, 即是所謂的統計表功用將資料分類及簡化, 使其便於比較, 易於了解, 記憶與運算, 並顯示出資料的特性, 以節省文字說明的麻煩. 內容包含 : (1) 標題 (title) (2) 標目 (label) (3) 表身 (body) (4) 資料來源及附註類別依資料的類別多寡, 時間和區域等性質來分類單項表, 二項表 [ 列聯表 (contingency table), 交叉表 (cross table)] 5

9 3.1.2 統計圖種類 1. 線圖 (line chart) 以直線的高低來表示資料的特質, 它最常用來表示時間數列的資料 2. 煙囪圖 (bar chart) 以長條的長短來表示資料的特質, 它最常用來表示類別的資料, 又稱直條圖 3. 圓餅圖 (pie chart) 以一個像一塊餅的圓形來表示全部的資料, 各部分資料則以佔整個圓餅的百分比來表示, 類別或順序資料常用 4. 直方圖 (histogram) 表示次數分配的的長方形圖, 又稱次數直方圖多邊圖 (polygon), 肩形圖 (ogive), 柏拉圖 (Pareto chart) 9

19 Organizing Categorical Data: Summary Table A summary table indicates the frequency, amount, or percentage of items in a set of categories so that you can see differences between categories. The size of each slice of the pie varies according to the percentage in each category. 26 步驟 (6 steps) 1. 求全距 (range, R) 全距 R= 最大值最小值 2. 決定組數一般為 5~15, 無特定標準. 太多, 不易看出其分布型態及其變化趨勢. 太少, 失去次數分配的意義, 無法顯示資料分配特性 a. Sturge s rule k = log 10 (n) k: 組數 n: 觀察值個數 b. 簡易公式 2 k n k: 組數 n: 觀察值個數 26

27 3. 決定組距組距是組與組間的距離, 亦即前後組之祖上限或組下限的距離如何決定? a. 組數已知, 以全距除以組數, 可以得到一個約略的組距 b. 一般採整數原則, 最好是 2, 5 或 10 的倍數, 以方便計算 c. 各組組距最好相等. 但若資料範圍很廣且分布不均, 組距可不相等 d. 最好不要有開放組距 ( 指無上限值或下限值 ) 注意事項 a. 每一觀察值必須歸屬到唯一的一組 b. 若採開放組距, 第一組寫為上限以下, 最後一組寫為下限以上 c. 連續資料的前後組上下限必須相等, 但觀察值若等於前後組之上下限, 則應歸屬於後一組. ex: x 為連續變數, 組下限 x < 組上限 x 為間斷變數組下限 x 組上限 27

53 Solution: 由圖 3.13 可看出枝葉圖如同次數分配直方圖, 它可以顯示學生成績分配的情形, 它是一個左偏分配. 1. 中央趨勢 : 成績主要集中在 70~80 分及 80~90 分 2. 分散情形 : 最低 23 分, 最高 97 分, 20~30 分及 30~40 分各 1 個枝葉圖優缺點 1. 相對於刺數分配直方圖而言, 枝葉圖有其優點外, 尙保有原始資料 ( 直方圖僅以組中點表示 ) 2. 若元素遺漏或重複, 由枝葉圖可立即追蹤檢查, 補足或刪除 3. 枝葉圖的組數幾無選擇 4. 枝葉圖只適用於數量資料, 且觀察值不多時. 53

60 Cross Tabulations: The Contingency Table A cross-classification (or contingency) table presents the results of two categorical variables. The joint responses are classified so that the categories of one variable are located in the rows and the categories of the other variable are located in the columns. The cell is the intersection of the row and column and the value in the cell represents the data corresponding to that specific pairing of row and column categories.
