SKH-8302-101- NDR-03 公 Pharmacy Services Provided by Family Pharmacist to Outpatient Yih-Jang Wu, Pei-Ting Chen, Chun-Yu Wang Department of Pharmacy, Shin Kong Wu Ho-Su Memorial Hospital Abstract The ageing population has always been the country's greatest source of economic health burden. The latest statistics from the Department of Heath reports that up to the end of 2009, 10.6% of the current population are 65 years or older. The average annual health care expenditure per person in this age category can be as high as NT$67,720. This expenditure is six times as much as people in the 15-44 year age group, those with the greatest productivity, which averages at NT$11,399. According to the national health insurance scheme, 51.3% of expenses are spent on covering health expenditure for people greater than 50 years old (28.6% of the population was older than 50 years in 2009). Whilst health care expenditure from the ageing population is considerable, pharmacists do not intervene to understand use of medications or how well disease states are controlled when the patient obtains health care. Our 2010 study of the ageing population living alone showed an average of 4.4 types of diseases, the use of 8 types of medications and 1.8 drug related problems per person. This study hopes to provide home medication reviews to all people older than 65 years of age who live alone, to understand and resolve drug related issues. 31 2 Jun. 30 2015 雜 誌 123 125
