In order to avoid or reduce the influence of guerilla heavy snowfall, adaptation measures with high recoverability while reducing vulnerability are required. The subject of this research is guerrilla heavy snowfall occurred in the Sapporo metropolitan area including New Chitose Airport from 22 to 24 December 2016. In the research, we organized the correspondence of concerned organizations to passengers trapped in the airport due to heavy snowfall. In addition, we propose introducing the timeline as an effective strategy for advancing adaptation to guerilla heavy snow. As a result of this research, in order to prepare for disaster risk due to guerilla heavy snowfall, it was revealed that cooperation of diverse entities such as relevant government agencies, airport building company, airline company, airport access transport company, etc. are necessary. In addition, it showed that it is important to formulate a preliminary disaster prevention action plan by the timeline for smooth cooperation and correspondence in emergency.
