Flavour samples may be included. CARBONATING TUBE 1 BASE 2 Includes a 60L SodaStream CO2 Cylinder (under licence). Once empty, the 60L SodaStream Cylinder can be exchanged for a full 60L SodaStream Cylinder for the price of the gas only. A 60L SodaStream Cylinder makes up to 60L of sparkling water depending on the level of carbonation and type of Drinks Maker used. The Source Drinks Maker is also compatible with the 40L SodaStream Cylinder, available in certain markets, which makes up to 40L of sparkling water depending on the level of carbonation and type of Drinks Maker used. Actual shape of bottle may differ. A dishwasher-safe carbonating bottle may be included and is identified by its 'Dishwasher-Safe' marking.

5 INSTALLING THE CO2 CYLINDER 1. Place the SOURCE Drinks Maker on a flat sturdy surface in an upright position. Remove the back cover by putting your index finger into the hole, grasping the back cover and pulling it away from the body of the Drinks Maker. Set the back cover aside. 2. Remove seal and cap from the SodaStream CO2 cylinder. Tip the Drinks Maker forward and insert the cylinder through the hole in the base and upward towards and into the carbonating head. 3. Access the cylinder by inserting your fingers through the open back, turn the cylinder to the right while applying gentle pressure until it is firmly held in place. Handtighten only; DO NOT use tools. 4. Place the Drinks Maker back into the upright position. Reinstall the back cover by tilting the cover towards you, fitting the slot at the bottom of the back cover onto the upright tab at the rear of the base of the Drinks Maker and pushing the cover into place onto the back of the Drinks Maker. Now you are ready to create the bubbles.

6 CREATE THE BUBBLES 1st 2nd Fill line Bottle rest 3rd 1. Prior to making sparkling water, fill the carbonating bottle with cold water up to the fill line. When inserted correctly there is a gap between the bottom of the carbonating bottle and the base. DO NOT C A R B O N AT E i f t h e carbonating bottle is resting on the base or water will splash out. 2. To insert the carbonating bottle, make sure that the carbonating block is in its fully upward position and the bottle rest is angled forward. If it isn t angled forward, pull it towards you until it clicks. Do not pull the carbonation tube. Insert the carbonating bottle neck into the Snap-Lock. Push the bottle up and back. The Snap-Lock mechanism will catch the bottle and hold it in a vertical position.

7 CREATE THE BUBBLES YOU MAY SEE SMALL PIECES OF ICE APPEAR IN THE WATER DURING CARBONATION OF VERY COLD WATER: If this happens, shorten the time of each press until the ice stops appearing or it can affect the carbonation. Any ice created will simply melt. 3. Push down the carbonating block, hold for 1-2 seconds until the first carbonation LED indicator is illuminated and release. Wait for the carbonating block to return to its upward position. Repeat to obtain a stronger level of carbonation as indicated by the illumination of an additional carbonation LED indicator. (See Carbonating Levels section.) 4. When desired level of carbonation is achieved, with the carbonating block in its fully upward position pull the carbonating bottle towards you to release it from the SnapLock. Enjoy!

8 CARBONATING LEVELS FLAVOUR YOUR WAY! HIGH FIZZ SodaStream Caps Sodamix Enjoy! MEDIUM FIZZ LIGHT FIZZ For LIGHT FIZZ Push down the carbonating block, hold for 1-2 seconds until the first carbonation LED indicator is illuminated, release, and wait for the carbonating block to return to its upward position before removing the carbonating bottle. For MEDIUM FIZZ Follow the instructions for light fizz and repeat until the second carbonation LED indicator is illuminated and then release. Wait for the carbonating block to return to its upward position between each press and before removing the carbonating bottle. For HIGH FIZZ Follow the instructions for medium fizz but repeat for a third time until all three carbonation LED indicators are illuminated. Wait for the carbonating block to return to its upward position between each press and before removing the carbonating bottle. For high fizz, and for maximum utilisation of CO2, use cold water. (Do not use icecold water). For SodaStream Caps: After making sparkling water place a SodaStream Cap on the top of the open carbonating bottle and press down firmly. Flavour will be immediately released and dissolved. Once emptied, remove the SodaStream Cap. Enjoy! For Sodamix Bottles: After making sparkling water hold the open carbonating bottle at an angle and slowly add the desired flavour by pouring it slowly and carefully down the inside wall of the bottle. Close with the fizz-preserving cap and tighten, then mix with a gentle shake. Enjoy!

It is important that you read and understand all use and care instructions and the important safety information before operating the Drinks Maker. IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS WARNING: WARNING : IF YOU ARE USING A CARBONATING BOTTLE THAT IS NOT MARKED 'DISHWASHER-SAFE', YOU SHOULD NEVER WASH IT IN THE DISHWASHER OR OTHERWISE EXPOSE IT TO HEAT ABOVE 120ºF (49ºC). DO NOT EXPOSE ANY CARBONATING BOTTLE TO EXTREME COLD BELOW 34ºF (1ºC). WARNING: DO NOT carbonate with any bottle not specifically designed to work with this Drinks Maker. The SOURCE Drinks Maker is designed to work with all 1L SodaStream carbonating bottles as well as the 0.5L carbonating bottle marked Source. SodaStream glass carbonating bottles and 0.5L bottles that are not marked Source are not compatible with the SOURCE Drinks Maker and should not be used. Close adult supervision is necessary when the Drinks Maker is used by children. GENERAL WARNINGS DANGER: Misuse of the Drinks Maker may result in serious personal injury. WARNING: DO NOT use the Drinks Maker if it is not in its upright position. WARNING: DO NOT use the Drinks Maker for anything other than carbonating water. Use of this Drinks Maker for any unintended purposes may result in serious personal injury and damage to the Drinks Maker. WARNING: Use the Drinks Maker on a flat, stable surface away from sources of heat. DO NOT place the Drinks Maker on a hot surface (e.g. oven hob) and never use it close to an open flame. WARNING: DO NOT carbonate an empty bottle. Carbonating bottle must be properly in place before operating the Drinks Maker. DO NOT move the Drinks Maker during the carbonation process. DO NOT remove the carbonating bottle during the carbonation process. To reduce the risk of personal injury or property damage, any servicing or repair should be performed by a SodaStream-authorised service representative. CO2 CYLINDER DANGER: A CO2 leak can lead to carbon dioxide poisoning. In the event of a CO2 leak, ventilate the area, breathe fresh air and if feeling unwell seek immediate medical attention. WARNING: Inspect the cylinder prior to use for any dents, punctures, or other damage. If any are detected, DO NOT use the cylinder and contact a SodaStreamauthorised service representative. WARNING: Mishandling the cylinder can result in serious personal injury. WARNING: Use caution when removing the cylinder as it may be very cold immediately after use. Always keep the cylinder away from any heat source and out of direct sunlight. DO NOT transport the Drinks Maker with the cylinder in place. DO NOT tamper with the cylinder in any way. DO NOT attempt to puncture or incinerate the cylinder. DO NOT throw the cylinder or cause it to fall. DO NOT handle a cylinder while it is discharging CO2.

10 CARE CARBONATING BOTTLE WARNING: DO NOT carbonate with any bottle not specifically designed to work with this Drinks Maker. The SOURCE Drinks Maker is designed to work with all 1L SodaStream carbonating bottles as well as the 0.5L carbonating bottle marked Source. SodaStream glass carbonating bottles and 0.5L bottles that are not marked Source are not compatible with the SOURCE Drinks Maker and should not be used. WARNING: Unless the SodaStream carbonating bottle is identified by a prominent 'Dishwasher-Safe' marking, YOU SHOULD NEVER WASH IT IN THE DISHWASHER OR OTHERWISE EXPOSE IT TO HEAT ABOVE 120ºF (49ºC). DO NOT EXPOSE ANY CARBONATING BOTTLE TO EXTREME COLD BELOW 34ºF (1ºC). DO NOT rinse the bottle in hot water. DO NOT place the bottle next to a heat source such as your kitchen oven. DO NOT leave the bottle in your car. DO NOT place the bottle in the freezer. Doing so will compromise the integrity of the carbonating bottle material and may result in serious personal injury. WARNING: DO NOT use a carbonating bottle if changes in shape have occurred, as that indicates the bottle is damaged. DO NOT use carbonating bottles that are scratched, worn, discoloured, or damaged in any way. WARNING: SodaStream carbonating bottles are clearly marked with an expiration date near the bottom of the bottle. DO NOT use bottles after their expiration date. Recycle and replace expired bottles in accordance with local recycling laws. Rinse carbonating bottle with cold or lukewarm water before first use. CARBONATION WARNING: DO NOT USE THE DRINKS MAKER TO CARBONATE ANY LIQUIDS OTHER THAN PLAIN WATER. ADD FLAVOUR ONLY AFTER CARBONATION. WARNING: DO NOT carbonate an empty bottle. DRINKS MAKER Never use abrasive cleaners or sharp tools to clean. If needed, use a mild dish soap liquid and a soft damp cloth to gently clean. Wipe spills to keep base dry. DO NOT place in water or wash in a dishwasher. Doing so will seriously damage your Drinks Maker. DO NOT place or store the Drinks Maker close to a heat source. CARBONATING BOTTLE FOR YOUR SAFETY: WARNING: IF YOUR SODASTREAM CARBONATING BOTTLE IS NOT MARKED 'DISHWASHER-SAFE', DO NOT WASH IT IN THE DISHWASHER. IF CARBONATING BOTTLES ARE MISTAKENLY WASHED IN THE DISHWASHER, DO NOT USE THEM. THROW THEM AWAY. USING BOTTLES THAT HAVE BEEN WASHED IN THE DISHWASHER OR BOTTLES THAT ARE SCRATCHED, WORN, DISCOLOURED, OR DAMAGED IN ANY WAY MAY RESULT IN SERIOUS PERSONAL INJURY. Rinse carbonating bottles with cold or lukewarm water, but never rinse with hot water. If needed, use a mild dish soap liquid or SodaStream bottle cleaning tablets and a softbristled brush to clean. Every SodaStream carbonating bottle has an expiration date printed on it. DO NOT use the bottle after this date. Replacement SodaStream carbonating bottles are available wherever SodaStream products are sold.

11 TROUBLESHOOTING Before you call for service, please check the list of problems and solutions below: DRINKS MAKER DOES NOT CARBONATE: You might be out of gas; replace your cylinder. Cylinder may be loose. Remove the carbonating bottle, open and remove the back cover to access the cylinder and retighten the cylinder by hand. DO NOT use tools. Apply firm pressure but do not over tighten. If the cylinder is already firmly in place, it may be empty. Replace with a full cylinder. Check that the carbonating bottle has been filled with water up to the fill line. Ensure that the Drinks Maker is in the upright position. CANNOT PULL BOTTLE REST: Make sure that the carbonating block is in its fully upward position. Pull the bottle rest firmly towards you. CANNOT INSERT THE CARBONATING BOTTLE INTO THE SNAP-LOCK: Make sure that the carbonating block is in its fully upward position. Pull the bottle rest towards you until it clicks into its fully forward position. Insert bottle into Snap-Lock. Firmly push bottle up and back until it locks. YOU HEAR GAS ESCAPING FROM THE CARBONATING BOTTLE: The carbonating bottle may not be properly attached. Allow the Drinks Maker to finish the carbonation process and then you can detach the bottle and reconnect it. Follow the instructions in the Create the Bubbles section. It is normal to hear a small amount of gas released at the end of the carbonation process. WANT TO RE-CARBONATE A DRINK THAT WAS ALREADY CARBONATED: WARNING: FOR YOUR SAFETY, NEVER carbonate again after adding the flavour. You may recarbonate only plain or sparkling unflavoured water. YOUR DRINKS MAKER CONTINUES TO RELEASE GAS AFTER CARBONATION IS FINISHED: WARNING: Do not remove the cylinder or the bottle. Leave the Drinks Maker in an upright position. Do not touch it until you no longer hear gas escaping. When the Drinks Maker is no longer releasing gas, remove the carbonating bottle and contact your local SodaStream Customer Service Center. DANGER: A CO2 leak can lead to carbon dioxide poisoning. In the event of a CO2 leak, ventilate the area, breathe fresh air and if feeling unwell seek immediate medical attention. YOU HEAR THE SOUND OF LEAKING GAS AFTER INSTALLING A NEW CYLINDER INTO THE DRINKS MAKER: Screw the cylinder tighter into its fitting. DO NOT use tools. YOU EXPERIENCE POOR CARBONATION: WARNING: DO NOT re-carbonate after adding flavour. If you have not yet added flavour, carbonate again to a higher carbonation level. Carbonate using cold water. If you still experience poor carbonation you may be out of gas. Replace the cylinder. WATER OVERFLOWS FROM THE CARBONATING BOTTLE DURING CARBONATION: Check that the carbonating bottle is filled just to the fill line. Verify that the carbonating bottle is firmly installed in the Snap-Lock. Check by gently pulling the bottom of the bottle. If it feels loose, then remove and reinsert. YOUR SPARKLING DRINK IS NOT FLAVOURFUL ENOUGH: Just add more flavour to taste! WARNING: DO NOT re-carbonate after adding the flavour. SMALL PIECES OF ICE APPEAR IN THE WATER DURING CARBONATION: This might happen when carbonating very cold water. If this happens, shorten the time of each press until the ice stops appearing or it can affect the carbonation. Any ice created will simply melt. Still having trouble? 12 SODASTREAM LIMITED WARRANTY Great care has been taken to ensure that your Drinks Maker was delivered to you in good condition. SodaStream warrants, subject to the terms and conditions set forth in this limited warranty, that your Drinks Maker will be free of defects in materials and workmanship under normal home use for twelve (12) months following the date of purchase. It is recommended that you register your Drinks Maker online by visiting choosing Select your country and completing the product registration section, or send in the product registration postcard that came with your Drinks Maker. If your Drinks Maker malfunctions within the 12 month warranty period and we determine the problem is due to faulty workmanship or materials, SodaStream will repair or replace it free of charge at SodaStream s discretion within the limitations set out in this warranty. SodaStream may replace your Drinks Maker with a reconditioned Drinks Maker, or an equivalent one if the model you purchased is no longer available. No refunds shall be given. This limited warranty is available to consumers who purchased a SodaStream Drinks Maker at retail for personal, family or household use. This warranty DOES NOT cover: Abuse, misuse, alteration of the Drinks Maker, or commercial use; Damage resulting from carbonating liquids other than water; Normal wear and tear (e.g. discolouration); Product malfunctions that were a result, in whole or in part, by alteration, disassembly, or repair of the Drinks Maker by a servicer other than an authorised SodaStream Service Center; Damage resulting from the use of cylinders or carbonating bottles other than those approved by SodaStream for use with your Drinks Maker; Damage resulting from use of the Drinks Maker with an adapter valve; Damage resulting from the use of an expired carbonating bottle; Damage caused by accident, shipment or anything other than normal household use; The carbonating bottles and cylinders; The battery inside the Drinks Maker. SodaStream is not liable for incidental or consequential damages. The consumers' sole and exclusive remedy shall be repair or replacement according to the terms and conditions of this warranty. To the extent that this warranty is inconsistent with local law, this warranty shall be deemed modified to be consistent with such local law. You may also have other rights, which vary according to local laws. The benefits given to the consumer by this warranty are in addition to other rights and remedies that may be afforded to the consumer by law in relation to this Drinks Maker. TO OBTAIN WARRANTY SERVICE If your Drinks Maker is in need of warranty service, please contact SodaStream Customer Service via our website at and choose Select your country. A SodaStream representative will give you specific instructions on how to arrange for the shipment of your Drinks Maker, at your expense, to one of our authorised service centers. Only SodaStream, or its agents, are authorised to provide warranty repairs or service to your Drinks Maker. Repair by a third party voids the warranty. NON-WARRANTY SERVICE If SodaStream or its authorised agents determine that the malfunction or damage is not covered by the warranty, SodaStream will repair the Drinks Maker only upon payment of the determined repair charge.

13 13 AUSTRALIA BATTERY REPLACEMENT SodaStream Warranty Additional Information SodaStream s products come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. The issuer of this warranty is SodaStream Australia Pty Ltd. ( SodaStream ), 21 Henderson Road, Knoxfield, Victoria 3180, Australia, Telephone No.: (03) , sales@sodastream.com.au. Should this product suffer a major failure or other reasonably foreseeable damage, contact us at the above phone number, or mailing address to present your claim for the warranty. SodaStream shall bear the expense of providing a replacement machine, if deemed entitled as per our discretion under the warranty. The warranty period shall be for 24 months from the date of purchase, which means that a major defect in the product and the consumer s submission of a related warranty claim must be made within that period. The benefits to the consumer given by this warranty are in addition to other rights and remedies that may be afforded to the consumer by law in relation this product. If the battery powering the LED lights needs to be replaced, please contact your local SodaStream Customer Service for details on how to arrange for it to be replaced. Please do not remove the battery from the SOURCE by yourself. APPLICABLE LAW Any and all claims, complaints, demands for judgment or legal actions brought hereunder relating in any way to your Drinks Maker shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the local laws of the country in which the SodaStream Drinks Maker was purchased. SODASTREAM CYLINDERS Your Drinks Maker has been designed to operate with a genuine SodaStream CO2 cylinder. The use of other CO2 cylinders is not recommended as they may not be compatible with this SodaStream Drinks Maker. Damages resulting from the use of a cylinder other than a SodaStream cylinder are not covered by the warranty. Replacement cylinders are available from authorised SodaStream retailers. SODASTREAM CARBONATING BOTTLES Your Drinks Maker has been designed to operate with a suitable SodaStream carbonating bottle. Damages resulting from the use of a bottle other than a suitable SodaStream carbonating bottle are not covered by the warranty. Before each use, check the expiration date on the carbonating bottle. Replace expired carbonating bottles with new ones. Please recycle your expired carbonating bottles in accordance with local recycling laws.

14 14 EXCHANGING YOUR CYLINDER PRODUCT DISPOSAL INSTRUCTIONS Packaging is made of recyclable materials. Contact your local authority for further information on recycling. EU Your machine contains valuable materials which can be recovered or recycled. The SOURCE contains a 3V lithium 2/3A size battery (CR123A). The crossed out wheel bin symbol shown above means that this product contains a battery and is electrical or classified as electronic equipment. The waste battery and the machine should not be discarded along with other household or commercial waste at the end of their use, but must be collected separately. Batteries contain substances that may be hazardous and present a risk to human health and the environment when they are not handled correctly as waste. If the battery powering the LED lights needs to be replaced, please contact SodaStream Customer Service for details on how to arrange for it to be replaced. Please do not remove the battery from the SOURCE by yourself, as this should only be done by a professional. This machine is labeled in accordance with European Directive on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) (Recast) (2008/0241 (COD), adopted 19 July 2011, and 2002/96/EC) and the Batteries Directive (2006/66/EC). The WEEE Directive has been put in place to recycle products using best available recovery and recycling techniques to minimise the impact on the environment, treat any hazardous substances and avoid increasing landfill. For more information on proper disposal of this product through a take-back program, please contact SodaStream customer service at and choosing Select your country. The SodaStream CO2 cylinder is provided to you under licence. The licence allows you to exchange your empty cylinder for a full one for the price of the gas content only, at a participating SodaStream authorised retailer.
